American Truck Factory: Where Icons are Made | FD Engineering
Inside a Motorcycle Factory: • Inside a Motorcycle Fa...
The Swedish automotive group Volvo has been producing trucks for the North American market since the late 1970s. Every ten minutes, a new truck rolls off the assembly line, with a tailor-made production line equipped to cater to individual customer requirements. More than 500 color tones are available for the cab paint job alone. After just one day in assembly, the new trucks are ready to roll on public highways throughout the United States provided they have successfully completed a test drive on the factory track.

  • Not a mention of Volvo's American lovechild! I think this video has been targeted towards 10 - 14 y/o truck spotters. So many oversights, assumptions, and even mistakes. Surely not every Volvo to come off the line is fitted with a "5th wheel"?

  • Howdyyawl from the land down under. Very impresive. These trucks are only one trailer long. In OZ. we produce trucks thar can haul 4 trailers at once. MayB you could do the same, at least 2 trailers long. This way, more parts can B delivered at once. Food for thought. Keeping it real 😊

    @user-ft8wr6le8d@user-ft8wr6le8dАй бұрын
    • There are tandem rigs used in the US also. But there are no 4 unit setups as our roads are not as wide open as down under and I doubt you have roads that have 7 miles of 5% grades where you use the 4 trailers. Road trains are basically for flatter lands.

And is the second largest class 7/8 heavy haulers factory in America. You can’t really get more American than a truck that he been built here for over 50 years, built by hand in Virginia.

    • Never Ever heard a truck driver state this truck has plenty of POWER !

      @vicpetrishak7705@vicpetrishak77052 ай бұрын
    • @@vicpetrishak7705I've passed a number of them on I-77 in Virginia. 7 miles of 5% curving grade brings most trucks down in speed on that grade. Meanwhile my 2001 Chevy 3500 and trailer at just barely under the legal limits for GCWR would have to back off the throttle only a few miles in as I would already be at the speed limit even from a 15 MPH start up the grade. So no, the drivers on that route will only claim to theirs getting the job done but not having plenty of power. It is the reason the uphill run has 3 lanes and why the downhill run has a truck emergency ramp every two miles. Plenty of power would be about 1000 hp under the hood if they wanted to pull a full load.
