Barbara opened that same year. She a bar and she called it "Barbara's Rhubarb Bar." There were also some barbarians in the city. They had heard about Barbara's rhubarb bar. And since they left every day with Barbara, they were soon called the “rhubarb barbarians.” In the following years the barbarians abandoned Little by little they stopped their barbaric behavior. They were, Barbara claimed. Almost nicer than Barpapapa. But the barbarians were very hairy. And they all had a shaggy barbarian beard (nothing special) Barbara then sent hers. Barbarian friends of the barbarian beard barber. She even designed the entire head of the barbarians. In his barbershop with a barbaric beard It is true that he was a terrible conversationalist. But the beard was absolutely perfect afterwards. Then the barbarians invited their barber. Once the work is done, head to the rhubarb bar. Then they had a beer together at the bar. The rhubarb barbarians and the bearded barber And he ate without any barbarism A piece of rhubarb pie, I think there were two. Yes, even the toughest men became approachable. And it's all thanks to Barbara's rhubarb. Three Barbarians and the Bearded Barber Sitting at the bar one afternoon with a beer. Then the police came: "Yes, where were you?" Barbara was known throughout the land for her abnormally good rhubarb cake Yes, you could say that Barbara's rhubarb cake was (without ifs or buts) an almost magical experience. Abra Kadabra! Well this cake was bombastic! And the demand rose drastically! In the very same year, Barbara opened a bar which she called "Barbara's Rhubarb Bar" In the city there was also a couple of Barbarians, who had heard of Barbara's rhubarb cake And because, from then on, they visited Barbara every day, People soon called them the "Rhubarb Bar Barbarians" In the following years the Barbarians left behind their barbaric ways bit by bit They were, according to Barbara, almost as nice as Barbapapa But the Barbarians were very hairy, And all had very straggly Barbarian Beards (Not striking at all!) Therefore Barbara sent her barbarian friends to a Barbarian Beard Barber. He cut the barbarian's hair, the whole head, In his barbarian-Beard-Barber barber's shop He was a terrible prattler [hard to translate], but their beards were totally tiptop afterwards So the Barbarians invited their beard barber to the rhubarb bar after his work was done They drunk a beer at the bar together, the rhubarb bar barbarians and the beard barber. And every barbarian ate a piece of rhubarb cake there (I think it was two!) Yeah, even the toughest men became approachable there! And everything thanks to Barbara's Rhubarb!

  • What's fascinating about this is that the word for "barbarian" came about because the Greeks and Romans thought foreigners sounded like "ba ba ba" when they spoke, and the term was usually applied to people from the northern regions of Europe, where they wore longer hair and beards. From that we get words like barber (referring to beards) and even the name Barbra, meaning "wife of the barber" or "foreign woman" depending on who you ask. But here I am, listening to this song in German (a language I do not understand) so it's come full circle for me, sounding like, "ba ba ba" just like it did for the Greeks and Romans.

  • I had to know the English lyrics, so this was the best I could do: Once upon a time, in a small town, there There was a girl named Barbara. And this Barbara was all over the country known for their incredibly good rhubarb cake. Yes, you could say that Barbara's Rhubarb cake without any ifs and buts It was a magical experience... Abera kadabera! Well, this cake was absolutely amazing! And the demand for it increased dramatically. Barbara opened that same year a bar and called it “Barbara’s Rhubarb Bar”. There were also a few barbarians in the city, they had found out about Barbara's rhubarb bar. And since they were with Barbara every day from then on, They were soon called the rhubarb barbarians. In the following years the barbarians left little by little they begin their barbaric behavior. They were, Barbara claimed, almost more likeable than Barbapapa. But the barbarians were very hairy and they all had shaggy barbarian beards. Not special at all! Barbara then sent hers Barbarian friends to the barbarian beard barber. He even styled the barbarian's entire head in his barbarian beard barber barbershop. Although he was a terrible talker, But the beard was absolutely perfect afterwards! The barbarians then invited their beard barber After the work is done, head to the rhubarb bar. Then they drank a beer together at the bar, the rhubarb barbarians and the bearded barber, and ate without any barbarism a piece of rhubarb cake. I think there were two. Yes, even very tough men became approachable, and all thanks to Barbara's rhubarb! Three Barbarians and the Bearded Barber We were sitting in the bar one evening having a beer. Then the police came: “Yes, where were you? Three Barbarians and the Bearded Barber!”

  • Here is the English Lyric: Once upon a time in a small town there lived a girl called Barbara and this Barbara was known throughout the country for her insanely good rhubarb cake. Yes, you could say that Barbara's rhubarb cake was without a doubt a magical experience. Aberakadabera. Well, this cake was absolutely amazing and demand for it increased dramatically. Barbara opened a bar that same year and called it "Barbara's Rhubarb Bar". There were also a few barbarians in the town. They had heard about Barbara's Rhubarb Bar. And since they went to Barbara's every day from then on, they were soon called the "Rhubarb Bar Barbarians". In the years that followed, the barbarians gradually gave up their barbaric behavior. They were, Barbara claimed, almost more likeable than Barbapapa. But the barbarians were very hairy and all had a shaggy barbarian beard (not at all). Barbara then sent her barbarian friends to the barbarian beard barber He even did the barbarian's whole head In his barbarian beard barber shop He was a terrible blabbermouth But his beard was totally tip-top afterwards The barbarians then invited their beard barber after the work was done to the rhubarb bar They then drank a beer together at the bar The rhubarb barbarbarians and the beard barber And ate with it without any barbarism A piece of rhubarb cake, I think there were two Yes, even really tough men became approachable And all this thanks to Barbara's rhubarb

    • Some people are putting the closed captioning to auto translate. But the song is about a woman named Barbara who has an amazing Rhubarb cake and opens a bar. She makes friends with some barbarians who then get sent to the barber because they have hairy beards. The barbarians become friends with the barber who then all go to Barbara's bar to drink beer. The barbarians are now friendly and stopped acting barbaric, which is all thanks to Barbara's rhubarb.

    • @Raxantu The best part is that the Barbarians call themselves "Barbara's Rhubarb Bar Barbarians" and it sounds just as funny in English as it does in German 😂

  • Probably the first time ever that I'm happy to be german so I can understand every word. Nonetheless, it brings joy whether you understand it or not.
