    • Kyler Hann incorrect you lift the felt to fill a zippo lighter. I don’t care if you have 1000 of them you are doing it wrong. But I will explain why you are wrong. The felt is lifted so you don’t overfill the lighter. While the felt is lifted and you are putting lighter fluid directly on the cotton when the cotton gets completely saturated that is when you stop filling. You let the felt down and when you turn the lighter over to put the insert back in the case the dryer felt absorbs some fluid out of the cotton and it keeps the lighter from leaking in your pocket.

  • Great video again! Really like how you do all this without expensive specialist machines. 💪👍 Small generic safety note regarding the drill press though, vinyl or nitrile gloves are fine, but don't even use safety gloves while using a drill. The drill bit could easily catch the glove and tear it apart, taking the operator's hand along with it. Same with other fast spinning equipment with cloth-snatching capabilities like lathes, mills etc.

As soon as I see this I stop otherwise the lighter will be overfilled and you will have to wash your hands 😂 with this amount of fluid I can easily use the lighter for a week. In this instance, I think it would’ve been better had you used a smaller, softer brass brush to remove some of that corrosion rather than that large, stiff-bristled brass brush. • Restoring the inside was pretty unecessary. Just put in a new "inner" from Zippo. It should be identical. The valueable thing is the case. And the hole on the bottom of the felt is not for a spare lint, it's to poke the refill bottle inside.

    @radry100@radry1004 жыл бұрын
    • From the Zippo website: 1. Remove the inside unit from the case. 2. Turn it over and lift the felt pad to reveal the packing material in the fuel chamber. 3.Slowly saturate the packing material with lighter fluid. Stop filling when the fluid reaches the top of the packing, or begins to change color. In a video there they actually say you can keep an extra flint under the felt pad (not in the hole).
