I will be 78 this year, and I decided that since I am a senior I will adopt senior dogs! A year ago in Indianapolis I was loving two seniors both with heart disease. My Bichon Punkin died in my arms, and 3 months later my Maltipoo died suddenly of heart failure.. I was devastated but knew I gave them all the love they could have! After 2 weeks with a quiet house I went to Taffy’s Senior Rescue and adopted an 11 yr old Maltese named River who had been picked up running the streets! Now I have Rivy to love! It can be heartbreaking to adopt a senior because you never know how long………I now make sure these precious senior dogs have the best end of life! I am the one blessed! Thanks for listening to a senior citizen who just am honored to be loved by a senior Vietnam veteran and a senior Maltese Mix! ❤ 🐶

I got my dad a little rescue dog after our very old cat died. He always says stuff like, “I don’t like dogs. “But like clockwork, he will cuddle up and completely invest himself in a dog. He will be carrying the dog and put it in his jacket and still say stuff like, “I don’t like dogs. “we all know how much he loves dogs but he’s just the kind of guy that will never say he absolutely loves dogs❤😊

When I left home, I left my toy poodle with my grandparents. They loved him too much to take him away. I bought him with the money I earned carhopping in the summer. After not wanting him at first, they absolutely fell in love.❤ I like to think he was waiting for them. He went first.
@@nickskybart5342 I don’t know what Google says, haven’t looked it up. I worked at B&K Rootbeer. I served a lot of hamburgers and gallons of root beer in glass mugs. I only made .50 an hour, but the tips! I was 16, blonde and cute, and my honey toned Southern accent didn’t hurt. 😂 That’s my definition of a carhop. A fabulous summer!

@gd.523 My dad looooves being Grandpa- for the same reason so many love being a human grandparents- they get to just do all the fun parts LOL. Like I’m the one who takes Buddy out when it’s 30 degrees out, or when he wakes up early and has to go out. But don’t worry, we spend A LOT of time over at Grandpa’s- Buddy has sleeps overs pretty much every week!

Sitting in the chair together made me think of my first doghter, a Chihuahua. I got a boyfriend and I had to get a pet to keep me company, and it was Katie. A couple of years later I went to buy my boyfriend a recliner and I kept telling the salesman that I needed one with a wider seat. Finally he asked, "Just how big is your boyfriend?" I told him the extra width was so my doghter could sit beside him and sleep. He finally showed me a chair that was just the right size!

I've watched this countless times. It makes my heart ache...a happy ache. I lost my rescued Pom a year ago, on her 14th birthday. I'm still devastated. That reminds me of my Lucy, I got a call from the vet's office telling me that they had found a little dog tied to a tree, I went in to see her, she was terrified shaking so bad, I reached out and they put her in my arms, she immediately stopped shaking, put her head on my shoulders and sighed, of course I took her home, until she passed we were inseparable, never needed a leash you would never leave my side. 💖🐕🥰

The licking of grandpa 's face reminds me of my best friend's Miniature Poodle. When my friend got him as a puppy, I was afraid to hold him while.standing, so I sat on the floor to play with him. As he grew up, we got closer and close. Whenever I went to visit. My friend told him that I was coming to visit. He always stood at the top of the stairs, waiting for me. When I sat on the couch, he jumped up on the couch with one of his paws on my lap and his head rested on my stomach, looking up at me with so much love in his eyes. I also used to cradle him in my arms like a baby and 2 minutes later, he would fall asleep. He passed away in 2019, at the age of 13. While I cried a lot, I'm glad for our time together and I always told him that I loved him every time I saw him.

Same thing happened with my dad who was frightened of dogs after a horrible experience. He was against me getting a puppy but they took one look at each other and fell in love. No one else got a look in!

We once had a Tibetan Spaniel, that was small for its breed, so actually the same size as Buddy. Pound for not very many pounds, and me being popular with all dogs, i have never seen one have as much love for me as little Zimi. When i came home from work, either abroad for months, or a regular 7 - 4 job at home, as soon as i got in the door there would be a micro tornado of fur at my feet, and there would absolutely not be any change to that before copious amounts of kisses had been exchanged. I miss those days.

Aw what a cute pup❤ I adopted a mini cavapoo last January. She has alot of health issues which weren't evident at the time. She absolutely adores my brother and just wants to be near him all the time whenever he visits or we go to his place. I took a photo of him cuddling her in a big bear hug and his face was joyful. She spreads love to every human she meets. She is my world😊🥰
Dogs love elderly people I think they sense they're older and their gentle and kind spirit my cousin has a dog that loves everybody but he just loves all over my grandma 😂 she's currently been in the ICU in a medically induced coma for 9 days as of this morning been in the hospital almost 3 weeks all this from a stroke that led to a series of seizures we're trying to get her to wake up she's been flinching her eyes when I mention him or her favorite food pretty sure he's going to be super excited to see her again
