agreed, shouldn't be able to play evolved cards till a certain point. If you play for season tokens they will match you with players high enough to have 2 evos and it makes it terrible

I've come back to the game since 2018 and seeing evos in 3k is the dumbest thing ever. I haven't lost to one yet, but it's only a matter of time untill I match w/ someone w/ maxed out evo knight or some crap

The fact they removed literally all the free pass rewards and replaced them with chests was one of the decisions I hated the most. Them removing the free book completely killed any motivation for me to grind this game

Personally I could never complete the pass before the change unless there was 7x Elixir, and the book now is much easier to obtain, just play the game for 10 days straight and chill

This is why the maximum trophies you can get as a casual f2p player is around ~7500 trophies since you would get burned out playing one or two decks if you are not a grinder.

I only ever bought the pass royale when champions were introduced. With 1 pass royale I got a level 14 skeleton king and a level 13 archer queen. It was so worth it back then.

Lack of competition adds to it too. People go for boom arena and such low quality ripoffs. But in my opinion Champion Strike Hero Clash needs to be in the front lines then a lot of players will move to the Champion Strike. Thus the competition begins and CR will make the game for f2p

They could have made the paid pass evolution, free. And instead put elite wild cards and book of books in the pass so that its better value. It fixes the monetization and gives more bang for buck like what Brawl Stars and Clash of Clans did. There I fixed the problem that Clash Royale had caused themselves. And it gives them even more money.

About clan wars 2, the level disadvatage is not that bad. (I play f2p, have been f2p since 2017, and our clan is in Legendary 1, [I have 3 cards that are level 15 cards, 12 cards that are level 14, 13 cards that are level 13, 4 cards that are level 12, and rest are level 11], and the win ratio is not that bad. Our clan is doing pretty well).

Hot take, make a maximum limit to card and tower levels for each arena (e.g. arena 16 players ONLY should have a max of level of level 12 cards and towers, and make midladder cards hard to get.

It seems like you're not a regular player. I played this game for a year back in 2018, and I reinstalled it 4 months ago. Currently, I have 7 cards at level 14 and 2 cards at level 15. I've even maxed out the Princess Tower, but the King Tower level is low, so I can't upgrade it. This game is greedy, but not that greedy.
