the best music video i’ve ever seen
@@chrisxakaxturky6368 It has aged like wine, the thing is back in the early 2000's people actually used to watch music videos on tv so the production had to be really good almost like a movie and the music video had to tell a story, which is what they don't really do these days still a fantastic music video.
@@chillyman7340we know what a music video is...this is low budget handheld trash compared to the big budget heyday in the 80s and 90s.
I think it is trying to tell the story of the scorpion and the frog.
If you haven't checked it out I would *highly* recommend the movie "Run Lola Run". I don't want to spoil anything but it is very very similar in concept and one of my favorite movies ever.
I can’t believe this exists. Just everything about it was so artistically perfect. Got so wrapped in the story I forgot I was listening to a song.

Makes one feel something. Dispite all the wrong shown throughout the story it makes your feel that your the one missing out.. hard to explain the feeling.

Ive never even seen this music video before but it makes me want to cry just because how beautifully it takes me back to that time. The late 2000s/early 2010s were so chill. Idc if it makes me sound old saying that, but i miss those "good old days".

Wow, I was having such an off day, and all of a sudden this video got recommended to me. Watching how many years ago this was and the video itself I was just thrown back to memory lane. I'm enchanted with how well the video and the song work together. Many of you have written about the story itself, but I would like to point out how amazingly a song without words can relate to a music video by its very composition. You get the impression that each of the 3 timelines has its own soundtrack. The first one has a beat, a bass line, a catchy lead and a "cosmic" synth in the background. Then, when the story in that timeline reaches a key moment, a kind of transition occurs and the song changes its atmosphere. In the soundtrack of the second timeline, light vocals have appeared, and the lead has been given an extra dimension and feels stronger. You can also hear the synth from previous timeline. The transition between the second and third timelines is different. The light vocal changes and comes to the fore with this cosmic synth. The third timeline, as the seemingly correct one from the protagonist's point of view, brings all the components together in harmony, which is what the main character feels at that moment. However, when they meet this guy at the parking meter and things start to go wrong, the components start to switch off one by one. First the melody, then the vocals, then an alternate lead appears for a while, and when the shot falls the beat starts to fade. After the second gunshot, all the sounds of the song fade away, as do the characters, and we are left only with the open door alarm in the car. The whole effect is completed by 2 moments when the effects in the song coincide with the video - the finger snap at 2:23 and the girl's footsteps at 3:47. Cinnamon Chasers and the creators of the music video have created a masterpiece and a time capsule containing the atmosphere of the second half of the 00s. I can't describe how good this song makes me feel and how nostalgic I am when I listen to it.
this is fucking insane and makes the video so much cooler now that ive read your analysis thank you

@@hansdumbf7608 bar so low we gotta look up to see the gutter
I love this video and how it shows that the smallest choices we make can alter our lives permanently. I just wish there would have been a 4th timeline that showed what would have happened if they had both been good seeing as how in the 3 they showed at least 1 was bad. At least they were both alive at the end of the first scenario, they were just going to be in big trouble. Favorite for life.
I think the intention was to show her as a defined person, someone who has her way of dealing with things and won't change. And she's not the best person when it comes to nice behavior. He, on the other hand, analysis every behavior he could have with her and all of them end up badly. So the only way it could've been different would be if SHE was different. So at the end I think the moral is that when you interact with someone that is not a good influence or that has a strong personality like she does, it can and will affect you despite of your behavior.

This is the most beautiful tragedy, I've ever seen. And we can all relate to it somehow. There's been someone you wanted to give everything to but they either weren't meant for you, hurt you without realizing or just didn't care. No matter what you did, they had to become a memory. So you either moved on, die or live in foolish unrequitedness the rest of your life. That's why I connect to this a lot.

Oh my God, I decided to watch this video because something reminded me of the girl’s face in the preview. And it was only after some time of watching that I remembered that I once watched this video! Once upon a time, as a child, and more than once. I’m 26 now. I guess I was about 12 then. I remember how this girl broke the check, how she «flop» on the bed and the ending. Wow!!! It absolutely flew out of my head, and now I’m watching it again! So great!

I hope you and him make up, growing up little big planet was one of my favorite games too I used to play all the time with my siblings. But don’t worry he’ll come around some day. Just have patience
I hope everything will settle down, you sound inspiring nevertheless keeping your positive emotions on.. we cannot super alter behaviours of other people as we prefer to, but if we can affect them then it's probably best to be done with care & respect.. so no matter how it ends up, you're a good person making a positive change to the world!~
I wish to you and your son the best and hope you can make things up! I sometimes also go through similar situations with my dad, but, at the end of the day, we love each other and end up forgiving each other even without saying anything. God bless you my man! Everything will turn up well!!!

Very simply, the video is about the conflict between the guy's virtue and the girl's selfishness. A common theme that everyone at some point experiences in their lives. The simplicity and beauty of the music go with the video because like the relationship between the boy and girl (and conflict between right and wrong, good and bad, + and -), the track is both uplifting and sad at the same time (truly capturing the positive and negative emotions felt in such a relationship). This video is a very unique, very beautiful audio-visual masterpiece.
fantastic perspective!! best comment ever 👍👏
+Disco Unchained Finally on KZhead, a usefull comment. Thank you.
+Disco Unchained Its actually more about how one person cant change someone else. In the story there were three different approaches taken by the protagonist he either ignored her wrong doing, took part and when above her wrong doing, and one where he attempted to right her wrongs. All situations ended up bad for the protagonist different bad endings but bad non the less. It has nothing to do with men and women, or relationships at least not romantic ones, its just that fundamentally people are who they choose to be and it doesn't matter what YOU do they wont change unless they seek to change themselves. It has nothing to do with a guys virtue and the girls selfishness as you suggest, in the second act of the video he is a complete douche forces him self on her robs people starts fights in a bar etc that is not "guys virtue"
From what I took, the guy is clearly in love with her and would do practically anything (leave his family, do drugs, and even facilitate murder) to stay with her/keep her happy.. it is obvious, beyond clear, that their relationship is unstable in so far as moral (and ethical) outlooks are concerned (E.G guy wants to ''right'' girl's wrongs by, say, returning the stolen wallet). their relationship was/is a battle between the girl's selfishness, and the guy's happy-go-lucky in-love willingness to be with her. and actually, fighting in the bar was a pretty solid show of the guy's virtue- in a more backhanded, implicit way... he is crazy for that girl, crazy enough to fight for her/defend her from other mens' advances (which is A-OK when you've left literally everything to be with a person)... that dude at the bar was most likely trying to get on his girl. also, the fact that he became an accomplice to the girl in the second half of the video proves my point about there being a moral conflict, which, sadly, the guy cannot reconcile until its too late (guy loses own virtue to appease girl)
nah man, i think you might be attempting to empathize with the male character to the extent of validating his immoral tendencies in one of the characters. He acted in three ways (presumably as three different people with three different sets of moral codes) and there were three outcomes-- one outcome in which he ignored/was complacent in the girl's wrongdoings and they were arrested; the second in which he went above and beyond her wrongdoings and was abusive to her, himself, and all others (including flirting/hitting on other women and forcing himself on her) and he was murdered by her, and the third in which he attempts to right her wrongs and ends up getting shot by her to keep him quiet. Though theres virtue in the first and third example there's no virtue in the second character, the second character is just a complete asshole. And he got in three fights in/around bars during the second scene, one in which he was punched by a girl's boyfriend for hitting on her so none of the fights were out of love for his gf
I'm so glad this song popped up in my feed. I've rewatched the clip about 5 times now. What a masterpiece

Keep comin back to this. We always had it on a big screen on dinners and pre-parties. Truly epic song and production!
I really enjoyed this video, like wow...the story is pretty good too. Her character, from the moment we first see her, is in the midst of some argument on the phone. Who knows over what, that's all pre-destined before the "check" where the guy can go different paths. She's already on one path and he's not going back far enough to fix the end result. It's likely whatever she's dealing with has to do with the gun, her dark side and greed... He introduces himself to this girl, probably thinks she's cute and they start hanging out. She really starts taking a legitimate liking to him and then comes the check. 1.) She takes the check and rips it up, thus influencing him to go along on a variety of schemes. You see her running about making most of the plays, ultimately landing them in the scenario where they still a lot of money. He's along for the ride in this scenario, she's getting to embrace her dark side happily until they get arrested (the only one that doesn't end in the MC's death). 2.) He takes the check and rips it up, thus forcing his own influence. Now the MC's more of an asshole, he starts stealing stuff of his own accord. She seems to go along with it at first but his arrogance begins to irritate her character more and more to the point that you can see her become more and more angry with him. Eventually, for whatever reason, her dark side takes over and she makes the decision to kill him. 3.) He pays for the check and starts going the good path. Everything seems fine but she's often looking away at things, something's amiss with her...he finds the gun, freaks out...then she spots that business man and drugs him (into an overdose) for his money. The MC, being the good guy, gets concerned and wants to call the cops but she decides to shoot him. Whatever compels the MC to take her life after this I'm not sure, perhaps he didn't want her to get away with murdering two people so he put an end to her. While the first path guarantees his survival and probably a limited prison sentence, the third path is the redeemable one that meant he did good deeds and enjoyed life as a happy individual sadly wrapped up with a damaged individual from the getgo. If the MC was turning back time or simply replaying the events in his head at death's door (e.g. life flashing before your eyes kind of thing plus regrets and so forth..), seeing how things would have gone differently if he didn't choose the third option...he'd never approach her. Then he'd continue on his journey solo, she may or may not end up dead herself but the MC survives. --- TL;DR Main Character makes a decision to live life and meets a girl wrapped up in her own problems. He traces back the different paths he could have taken at the point in which he believes things went wrong (the check) but all lead to negative outcomes. A little further and they'd both probably be alive minus an entertaining yet tragic tale.
+xTVthePunisherx I also like to an observation of how in the last frame where they show her picture, she's upside down. She's dark, twisted and greedy.... All negative attributes that we relate to the devil....
TL;DR - femme fatale :D
there's a rule to life someone wise once told me - never go to bed with anyone more troubled than you.

lets look at this from the sexual perspective. first version he is handsome and evil chad. second version, he is ugly pick up artist, so she reacts badly . third version he is handsome beta male, so she is getting increasingly tired of his wussiness

I've been listening to this song on and off for the last 4 years now and it is truly a masterpiece, no other words to describe it. Not only is the song amazingly well written, but with such a fluid music video to go along with it I'm gonna have to say this is one of my favorite videos of all time.
I'm glad I got to see this video what a masterpiece it shows you when things could go right or wrong or what could or could have not been.
One of the best videos I’ve seen in awhile. Perfect timing
Some of you guys don't realize that the final scenario is what really happened. So the guy thought of different ways to be with her in his last moments. One of the ways was to be the follower. And the second was to be a dick to others. That didn't turn out too well either. So, as he was dying he realize that no matter what he did nothing would turn out well. And that shows that they weren't meant to be. We can all tell he still wants to be with her (even after she shot him) because he thought of these scenarios. No one knows why he left his home or why she was pissed off w/ someone on the phone. But we do know that's she a bad person and he's a good person.
maybe, because we don't know, who's to say that it wasn't the other way around, or that they were both bad, they just made mistakes.
she killed the guy to steal him, so that would make her bad and she killed him both ways, he tried to be 2 different persons and she still killed him once with a knife and once with a pistol, that means she is the bitch not him. the video showed that all what he cared about is to live a happy life with a girl that he loves, and all what the girl wanted was money, tons of money, that is it because she made out with him when they only had money but when he had no money she pushed him away and when he got money again she started to make out with him again. and at the end she killed another guy to take his money and this annoyed him alot and tried to call the police
oh and if you go to the girl's twitter page in her bio she said Evil luv deluxe girl . so yea
I don't know if you guys noticed but the first time nobody died, they just got caught by the police
The only winning move was not to play..
