    • Sometimes I just drive because it's my escape. Although driving is my favorite activity, I realize that activities like that are sometimes what you need to heal from your troubles. Sometimes if your really struggling with something and it's driving you crazy, just get up, walk away and do something that you enjoy. For me it's driving. For some it's talking to someone. Either way, no matter what you prefer, we all need to forget about stressful things momentarily and enjoy just being present. Don't go too hard on yourself because it'll make things go harder on you. Just take time to escape. It's worth it.

  • I think what I love about EDEN so much, is the way that every song captures emotion so flawlessly. In this song, for example, the he so perfectly captures the agony of the depression of loneliness. Everything from the smooth melody, to the feedback at the beginning, to the simple click of a tape player at the end. All of it builds upon the feeling, upon the power of his words. Every beat, every pluck of the guitar, is so flawlessly placed. So bloody perfectly done, to draw out the deepest emotion. EDEN is truly a master.

    • Disagree. This song is about the Enjoyment of solitude. Even the lyrics make it seem so and the small chattering that stops the music in the middle Is also a strong indicative. "So far from here, and the stars they'll guide me home"

      @eliezerricardo2293@eliezerricardo22932 жыл бұрын
    • @@eliezerricardo2293 I don't think it's so much an enjoyment of solitude rather that it's about trying to be optimistic or hopeful after a catastrophic loss. You get this sense that he's in turmoil with the lyrics "Cause I can't think straight in the silence, and Jupiter ain't seen a storm like this," describing a storm of thoughts inside his head, and "And I can't help but keep on thinking these thoughts on gonna bury me alive," which describes his fear that his thoughts are going to overtake him. Even so, lines like you mentioned "and the stars they'll guide me home, when I falter," show that he knows to look up when his life inevitably falls apart ("and everything comes crumbling down") There is no sense that Eden is finding enjoyment in solitude in any of this, in fact he's describing it as very "lifeless" (in the aftermath, this vacuum's lifeless). Instead, it's evident that he at least knows what he needs to do to move forward from his pain, but he depicts that in a way that shows he's still mournful over what is happening in his life.

  • Eden's style has undergone many transformations over the years he's been making music. But everywhere he goes, he leaves gems in his wake. I can't say any of his styles are bad. I loved vertigo, I loved the album he just released. And even after 7 years I love this song, and I consider it to be one of his best of all time. They all have a charm to them.

Quem diria?
