I read Eazy-E as G-Eazy at first because I genuinely did not believe I’d ever see Eazy-E on a “worst rappers of all time” list.

Eazy-E was a mediocre rapper with basic rhyme schemes, uneventful, uncreative flows and needed Ice Cube to write his lyrics for him... Just because NWA was successfull and influential doesn't mean he was good at rapping. Does he deserve to be mentioned among the worst? It depends on who are you comparing him to... Random teenage soundcloud rappers? Probably not. If you compare him against actual professional rappers he's probably below average... There were hunders of better rappers in the late 80s/early 90s alone that were better than Eazy-E but didn't enjoy anywhere near the same level of praise because they weren't in NWA and Eazy-E was.. Not my thing translates to: this is music that has some artistic merit, whether it be in the beat, song writing etc. It is understandable why someone would like this. Bad = this has little to no artistic merit and is almost completely unenjoyable. It is not understandable hoe someone could like this. These are both subjective definitions but they mean different things.

@@Lackifall Yes technically it's all subjective, however I would argue that most people intuitively project similar meanings onto "not my thing" in particular. Good and bad can mean many things, however, "not my thing" is separate, otherwise people would just call it bad, trash or another synonym. And even if taste is entirely subjective, it is just as subjective to say there is no distinction between "bad" and "not my thing" as it is to say there is a distinction. My argument is based on general use and sentiment, technicalities don't really matter.

I read Eazy-E as G-Eazy at first because I genuinely did not believe I’d ever see Eazy-E on a “worst rappers of all time” list.
Eazy-E was a mediocre rapper with basic rhyme schemes, uneventful, uncreative flows and needed Ice Cube to write his lyrics for him... Just because NWA was successfull and influential doesn't mean he was good at rapping. Does he deserve to be mentioned among the worst? It depends on who are you comparing him to... Random teenage soundcloud rappers? Probably not. If you compare him against actual professional rappers he's probably below average... There were hunders of better rappers in the late 80s/early 90s alone that were better than Eazy-E but didn't enjoy anywhere near the same level of praise because they weren't in NWA and Eazy-E was..
