Portal and its sequel have had such a huge impact on my creative style ever since I first played them back in 2014 that I figured it was about time I made something that paid tribute to the series.

I love how this touches on the Portal lore without directly spoiling anything. The fire in front of the portrait, the zoom in on Caroline's face, and the flashes of the Borealis life ring just make this already banger of a video even better.
0:53 - 0:56 is easily my favourite part. The way the monitors freak out, the room on fire, and how it zooms into Caroline's face. Perfectly encapsulates the horror of Portal.

This is, no joke, one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. The animation is gorgeous, the way the radio theme gets progressively slower and more distorted is perfect and don't even get me started on GLaDOS, the movement is spot on! Simply the best! Captures the weird technological horror nature of Portal amazingly well

This is SICK dude. I always loved the minor horror elements of Portal, these abandoned creepy areas and the origin of GlaDOS, hearing the mad ramblings of Doug Rattman having a schizophrenic episode, recorded by an unseen machine constantly looping the recording from beyond the game's walls. It's cool as fuck to see when fan works really lean into that aspect of the series.

Well here we are again...
Imagine if this played at the beginning of Portal 3 as a cutscene, where it returns back to the roots of the original portal to encompass an eerie atmosphere, you wake up 100's of years in the future the facility looks like Portal 2 but still has a portal 1 like atmosphere, you wake up to hear Glados talk like how she did in Portal 1, you complete the first 10 puzzles until you see that the door to the exit has malfunctioned, you look for another way to get out only to find the glass observation room having cracks in it, you portal through and descend in an elevator to the lowest levels of old aperture to gather more information with this solemn radio playing, we discover even darker truths to cave jhonson and Glados, we discover the wheatley was more than just a core and was an experiment in A.I mapping and he was originally sacrificed in the name of science into a core, after showing no signs of conscious they left him in a core storage until Glados started going rouge where they made him become an idiot. you rise back up and get back into test chamber 19 from Portal 1, with quick thinking you can avoid the fire by shooting through a crack in the wall, the fire pit is fully reinforced and you can not place a portal surface in it, you begin an escape you discover Glados's body from Portal 2 hanging... But not responsive Glados has two different bodies her portal 2 and portal 1 body just when you were about to leave the room the body suddenly rises and attacks you after a couple minutes of dodging her attacks you portal away through a crack that the rocket turret created, then you spend the game in isolation silent yet loud Ambiance plays, Glados is unresponsive and doesn't speak for the time. during this time you find a lot more ratman dens with each having a piece of a story to tell, eventually you find Glados in her Portal 1 body she has multiple cores attached to her that was p0laced by Atlas and P-body these cores enhanced her evil making her more deadly and a threat. You walk into her chamber with her highly corrupt

I can get behind a horror Portal game where the pressure is on to solve tests before something gets you. Imagining that Aperture science maybe did some human experimentation that went horribly wrong creating monsters that were locked away but somehow escaped and now roam the entire facility leading to you having to evade them and survive while still figuring out portal puzzles.
I love portal! I wish there were more of it though
