Now that I have the perfect workbench designed and built, it’s time to add some storage within it. I wanted something that would be able to house all the dog hole clamps that I use on the bench surface, some standard drawers for storing tools, as well as a slide-out drawer for housing a couple of my frequently used bench-top power tools. This storage cabinet satisfies all those requirements and looks fantastic at the same time! It sits flush with the face of the bench as well so you can continue to clamp long boards to the front without any interference. It’s definitely been a huge upgrade to my shop and will most likely be the same for yours.

You are just one of the best narrator of all the woodworking channels, and I always wait for that first mention of your neighbor (this one was quick!). Thank you for your videos and display of amazing skills...
Thanks, Eric!
@@FishersShop I agree with Eric! I always can't wait till a new video comes out because i know time, attention, and walnut are always involved.. turns my day around.
@Fisher's Shop - I always wonder how much of a shack the neighbor's house must be by now... eventually, it's going to be just a framed structure... LOL I'm always learning from his videos and there's always at least a little nugget of humor that sneaks in when least expected.
I concur. GREAT narrator.
@@JayBates But I like your videos too, Jay!
I live my life by the adage that "Anything worth doing is worth overdoing". Glad to see I have found a fellow traveler.
Oh Lord - the drawer of snacks! That's freaking awesome!
Right?!
I don’t know why, but the slightly cheesy comedy gets me every time. Your delivery and timing just hits. Makes the videos that more enjoyable.
Glad you like them. Thanks
The endings are everything. They remind me that these polished videos I see online go through the same realizations and "adjustments" that I do. That I'm not a total idiot when I make a mistake and that it's part of the process.
You got it!
The comment about the "4 more drawers for me to look through for the tool I just had in my hand"....that one cracked me up, and I can 100% relate...
Hehe, thanks for watching
Your videos are the Bob Ross of woodworking.
If I only had his afro though
Always a good idea when you acquire some wood from your neighbor's house to break it down as quickly as possible so it's unrecognizable. Have a Jesus filled day everyone Greg in Michigan
Hehe, yup. Thanks, Greg
You win the clamp acquisition competition.
Guinness poured, fire lit, time for some Fisher,s shop
I always get 5 year old excited when you post a video.
Your neighbor has the most wood heavy house in the universe. At this point any normal house would have been stripped bare to the foundation. Not even furniture left. His house however - he hasnt even noticed... its one impressive house
I have lots of neighbors. For some reason they keep leaving and then I get new ones.
😂Great
*had
Yeah and the best part about it must be that when the structure get so wonky the neighbours will leave themselves leaving the rest to be scavengend.
@@FishersShop hey I'm your neighbour, in a sort of way... But here in the Netherlands we mostly make houses out of brick not like you savages across the pond..
A candy drawer! He has a real candy drawer! That is the best option ever!
Love it! - "more drawers to look through when trying to find the thing you just had in your hands"
Talk about a virtual forest of clamps! Impressive!
You sure have some mighty generous neighbors!!!! Well done sir!!!
Thanks!
I like the bench. And on behalf of all Deaf people thank you for enabling captions on your videos.
I didn't know I did. :) Glad that it was for you.
@@FishersShop Task failed successfully :D
Holy hell! That's not a workbench, it's a work of art! I'm afraid my garage just wouldn't be worthy of such an impressive piece. Unless I built it out of cast-off pine, particle board, and OSB...
Oooo! Sounds stunning!
Storage looks awesome! And, yes! It totally ties in with the table! Princess Leia sanding… ROFL!
Thanks! :)
Come for the video, stay for the outtakes. LOL
Really ties the room together, dude.
Good thing you have a neighbor that goes to work and you can get your wood from. Mine always seems to be home when I try that........
Princess Leia 🤣 Fantastic job Drew!
Thanks, Mike!
1:30 AND "High Contrast Accent" You are really getting professional (almost). GREAT project! !! !!!
SUPER professional... except for when I forget to put on pants.
You sir must be a master thief to do so well in your scavenging. The cabinet turned so well it looks as it was built with the bench from the beginning. Master level work there. I love the outtakes as well. Its good to know that mistakes are the amusing common factor we all share.
Thank you very much!
I can identify with "going over the top for a build"! I'm constantly reminding myself not to go too far so that I can actually finish a project in a timely manner. Workbench looks great!
Thanks! :)
Drew’s dry humor is the friggin bees knees
Man I love the humor. I was just trying to draw mine up yesterday but trying to figure out casters and a kegerator. We could combine the two and have the perfect woodworking movie theater.
There ya go!
Thanks for sharing. Talk about tight tolerances! Wow! Once again I'm reminded.... one can never have too many clamps!
Yeah, it was quite a squeeze!
Loved the Princess Leia reference!
Love the excessive walnut, glad the tight squeeze didn't cause any drawer pull problems.
Love the Walnut Maple contrast. Great work, nice cabinet. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much!
Great as always Drew! Love the "well I don't like that...." I can't tell you how often I say that to myself! I would like to say that I love the use of "flat" head screw. If only I saw a slotted screw in this build... ;)
5:52. It’s there.
Somebody needs to watch it again. 😉
That's great, Drew. I'm one of those waiting for the flat head screw. Also, it took a while during the outtakes but the "Oh crap" finally showed up. Do you ever follow your neighbors after they move to their new house for a fresh supply of wood? Bill
I just wait for the new ones to move in next door. Less driving.
Love Princess Leia! Nice work, Buddy!
Thanks, Michael
Awww I was hoping for at least 1 "Crapski!" lol Love this addition Drew!
There were plenty but the camera wasn't rolling. :)
Walnut always gives a piece character and style 😁❤️
Sure does!
6:07: "I put in a coved indentation for my fingers, and then chopped them all down to length at the miter saw." OUCH! Glad you didn't show that part. Another enjoyable, informative video!
😁
I'm here for the beer and out takes
Great looking piece Drew. Best one yet. Good use for all that recycled plywood out of the neighbor''s garage too.
Thanks 👍
Great job! One of these days your gonna have to make something for that generous neighbor of yours lol.
Maybe one day!
New to your videos but so grateful I came across them! If you are just pretending to be a woodworker, I am just a kid over here playing with sticks! Thanks for the great content!
Glad you're liking it, Trenton
Mallet of persuasion! Can I borrow it to persuade my kids? 😂
Love your sense of humor, would also enjoy having you as a close friend, but sorry I draw the line living next door to you. (Just in case...) 🙂At any rate, I always watch all of your videos, they are awesome, thanks!
Glad you like them! thanks
Wow Drew, this piece definitely has to be in the Top 5 most beautiful workbenches out there~! I can see making one of these myself and it getting hijacked by my wife for use in the house (sideboard?). She'd be saying the same thing I'd be thinking, "That thing is too pretty to work on." Great job & great video~!! Thanks for sharing it. That last outtake is hilarious~!
Hey thanks, Andrew! :)
By far, the best I seened.
I always laugh watching your videos, and think .. "sure I could do that" . (I sooo could NOT do that!) But it's definitely something to strive for. You are incredibly talented!!!! Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece.
Thanks so much! But trust me... you COULD do it!
I love the flat screw segment in your videos.
:)
I love the oreo bench cookies 😂 You have very generous neighbors.
Thanks for the outtakes. Reminds me I’m not the only one that makes mistakes.
I'm undecided on what entertains me more. You're builds, your humor or the editing. Oh and on a side note, this build is beautiful. I'd love to have that in my leather shop. Albeit, with a full range of shallow drawer to hold hand tools and patterns 😉leather, maple and walnut 😁now, that would be a beautiful contrast
Thanks, David! :)
I always look forward to seeing where you use the flat head screw! 🤣
It's so beautiful I want to cry.
Greatest stash drawer ever!!!!❤
Awesome job, as usual. The press-fit cabinet was a smart idea. Really saves on fasteners. More flat heads for the next project.
That's the plan!
Nice bench and drawer assembly. The Necessary Shop Accessories drawer was a nice touch!
Thanks!
Great work on the workbench storage Drew! That really turned out nice :) Thanks for sharing the video with us!💖👍😎JP
Thanks for watching
Awsome Drew I am sure it brings you a smile every time you sit down to do something at the bench.
Drew, that is one fine looking workbench. Just goes to show, just because something is for shop use doesn't mean it can't look good. I wish I had (or knew how to use) the 3-D design software for designing things like you do - I just have to envision them in my head and make the mistakes as I cut and assemble.
Thanks! Yeah, if I couldn't design it first, then none of these projects would ever happen.
Drew, one day the future generations of your family are going to marvel at your shop and its excellent shop furniture pieces, which by then will all be family heirlooms! They will shake their heads at how your shop furniture is nicer than the furniture in their houses! As do I already.... 🥲
Hehe, thanks Bill
Live it, love it, love it!!!! Great job Drew, it looks stunning
Thanks, Mitzi
Geez dude, that's a work of art, fantastic.
Thanks!
Awesome project Drew...I love that you do your own thing! Your projects are beautiful...keep using the walnut!
Thanks a bunch!
I too have a stash of "contraband" in my shop. It seems it a thing since days of old; when we cleaned out my granpas shop we also found some sweets he forgot about from years ago - he hid it so well HE couldnt even find it haha!
Hehe
Enjoyed the video Drew. Very nice storage cabinet and great looking pulls. You've built a nice collection of clamps. You can't have too many. I like that contraband drawer contents. Be careful or you'll get a sugar high for sure. Thanks for taking the time to produce the videos. You take care and God bess.
Thanks, Ron!👍
That is one fine bench. And it is made outstanding by the inset cabinet. I love it. However I am certainly happy that I am not your neighbor. Frankly I could not afford all the donations to your projects. 😄Thank you for sharing. Have a great 2023 and stay safe.
Thanks, Glen
Candy drawer was a nice touch 😂
😉
Great job, Drew. I'm just as excited to see your videos as I am to see Samurai Carpenters videos.👍👍
Glad you're enjoying them
Totally dig the humor! 🏜🐪☀🐫🌵 Beautiful bench. Thanks for posting. 😊🙏
Glad you enjoyed it
Just need a few more drawers for all of the other clamps. Lovely project!!!
Thanks!
Love the Third Coast Craftsman shirt! Nice work on the cabinets!!
Thanks, Eric
I love your work, just be careful your neighbor will catch up with you.
Like your narration and editing. My sympathies to your neighbor
Thanks, Joel
Always exciting to get the notification that there is a new video available by Drew Fisher. They never disappoint. Beautiful build!
You're a good man for stocking Reese's Pieces!!! Great video
That's definitely one of my favorites. :)
As always, Thanks! You stole my game of "finding the flathead" Love your stuff!
Glad you like it!
Drew, this is by far one of my favorite shop builds you have done, I seriously love the contrast with the maple and walnut! Thank you for the effort you continually put into creating these masterpieces!
Thanks man!
That really looks nice. Well done Drew, it's beautiful.
Thanks!
Another amazing build! Plus always love the outtakes; keeping it real 😂
Glad you like them!
You convinced me to buy these plans, I have a need for a wood working workbench. I also have a small work shop and this is perfect. Thank you
Glad I could help!
that is too beautiful to be a work bench.
Awesome, Drew! That secret stash drawer is the best!
Hehe, thanks
Poor neighbour😊😊but anyway it went for a good cause your lovely workbench.Keep them coming or I'll send the persuasor over.
You got it!
Another great build, and I love seeing you supporting Third Coast Craftsman as well!
Yeah, Chris is such a talented guy
Over built, over thought, over the top…love it!
4:26 dare we say, “tackaroos”? 😂
Love your narrations, love the bloopers, an the stuff you build is beautiful. Great combination!
Thank you so much!
Fits like a glove .
Like OJ's glove, maybe.
She's a beaut, Drew!
Thanks!
Another cracking project mate, sweet contraband drawer & oh yeah when you put the final piece into the workbench did you wonder about the Measure Twice Cut Once approach to it 🧐😁😁😁 Another top shelf project Drew 🍻👍🇦🇺
Yeah, I was pretty nervous for a bit thinking that I made the entire thing the wrong size. Haha
This has got to be the most beautiful piece of garage furniture ever built. I wish I could afford half the walnut used on this! And those clamps! Holy cow. Forget raiding your neighbours houses… I’m raiding yours. Thank you for another memorable build. And your narration is the best on the interweb.
I really enjoy watching your videos. You’re quite comical. I wish you’d make videos more frequently!
Glad you like them, Erin
This is outstanding. Your craftmanship has improved dramatically over the arc of your videos. You are a grand master!
Haha, hardly! But thanks anyway. I am definitely getting better but I still consider myself a beginner
Princess Lea did a good job lol
Complementary comment. Love the "Dad" humor u put into these videos. Makes me smile with how corny they are.
Happy to provide the corn
I am building a scuttle hole ladder for client out of maple with walnut accents. The danish oil will be exactly what I use for a finish. Also I’m a gummy bear man. I go through at least a pound a week
Nice looking bench cabinet! I can almost see a wall cabinets using the same look. Thanks
Glad you like it!
Great looking drawers for that great looking workbench. I just hope that inserted cabinet being so tight doesn't crack or warp anything when it expands.
It won't expand, it's plywood. I should be fine
Watched outakes first. again. And wondered where the flat head was. Glad things are up to spec! GREAT looking cabinet!
Thanks 👍
I am jealous of all your tools and the skill. I endeavor to gain your knowledge and skills.
Just keep pluggin' away and trying new things
