  • Vi a mi madre hacerlo hace mucho tiempo y lo hacía en ocasiones de oscuridad por apagones. Ella usaba como mecha trozos de mecha de trapero y esto lo hacía en unos candeleros que tenía y eran fáciles de transportar de un lado a otro. Esa llama iluminaba todo el lugar. Gracias por recordarme parte de mi increíble infancia, en la que las madres y las abuelas sabían tantas cosas que ya se han ido olvidando por la modernidad.

  • I use to make these a long LONG time ago lol, but back then you could go to a mall and find a candle store ( all the malls ha a wicks and sticks store ) they sold the plastic holders and wicks in little boxes. I absolutely loved them but this was the actual reason why they were banned, there were quite a few people and homes burned due to the candle getting knocked over accidentally causing the oil to quickly spread and the lit wick ignited the oil. So here's my tip PLEASE INCLUDE THIS WARNING never put the lit candle where it can be turned or knocked over. Thank you for your great crafting channel.

    • I believe that was lamp oil and not olive oil. I don't think olive oil catches fire like that.

  • O idee minunata. Imi amintesc cum facea bunica aceste candele pentru cimitir. Nu aveau flori pentru decor ci doar apa și ulei puse într-un vas de sticlă /borcan/canita de porțelan , o tăblița care se sprijinea pe vas și care era gaurita pentru a iesi fitilul facut din vata.

  • Buna ziua. LA MULTI ANI! Un an nou cu bucurii si impliniri. Pentru fitil la candela eu folosesc fir gros de bumbac de la gheme pt.ambalaj care se gaseste in papetarile din Romania. Am cumparat de la o manastire fitil pt.candela care era un fir de 20 cm identic cu firul atei de impachetat. Am probat si folosesc permanent la candela. Aceste gheme sunt pe grosimi, luati mai gros este mai bun. Va felicit ca pastrati credinta stramoseasca si tineti candela aprinsa. Ingerul pazitor ne vegheaza langa candela aprinsa. 🙏🙏🙏

  • You could try this with clothes instead of tissue paper. Roll hard and make sure the rolled clothe fits tight. Then You won’t need to change it for more than a month. When I was a kid, my grandma used to make it for loadshedding.

    • Obrigado! Não queima, se tiver medo pode colocar uma boia de metal de uma dose de suco ao invés de plástico! Ou entre o plástico e o pavio você pode colocar um pequeno pedaço de metal! Para um maior tempo de queima do pavio você pode colocar um fio de algodão ou pavio de vela!
