I can guarantee you that at least here in Brazil Stumble has more players than Fall guys by a huge landslide. As the other guy said, the big majority of players on less rich countries only have access to mobile games, so that market is actually way huger than you think.

Long story short the clone passed the original by releasing on mobile. Fall Guys tried to be a higher quality experience on PC + Console but sometimes a low effort clone game "wins" by being in the right place at the right time. Thanks for this video Henke! was cool to learn this story.
Yup. It's part of why Among Us blew up. Fall guys was popular first but it was pay to play. So people went looking around and found this free (with cosmetics) game that basically anyones phone in the past 10 years could run with minimal issues. Pretty much instantly Among Us was more popular and Fall Guys was struggling. Even now it wasn't until the end of July 2023 that Stumble Guys was more popular than Among Us.

The reason I believe for stumble guys blowing up was probably because it reached schools. I remember last year was my freshman year, and around that time, being after winter break, everyone started downloading it and playing matches during class, rallies, lunch, everything. The game was so popular that you could barely sit with someone at lunch without having stumble guys downloaded.

Fall Guys takes SO LONG to get you into a game! Takes forever to find 60 players, then it takes like a minute to show you a camera view of the course you already know, then there's the chance of losing in the first round due to the more competitive nature and having to wait way too long for the next game
Atleast they make sure you have real people, half the time on stumble there are like 28 bots in a 32 player match

@@CoolestColor the emotes are mad easy to get, at least when I used to play the game during 2022. There were literally the same 3 emotes rotating in those 10 passes. I don't know why people call the game pay to win. If you play enough tournaments and get good placements, you can get enough gems to buy a pass and get the emotes. Of course you think the game is pay to win if you play it a week and then stop.

My only issue with Fall Guys was how the downtime between each time you get to play takes too long. I probably would be playing more often if the level selection roulette didn't drag on too long. As for the Fall Guys clone, I could care less.

Wow, I was playing Trails of Cold Steel II while watching this video, and was shocked to hear "Feelings Soar With the Wind from Trails in the Sky FC out of nowhere. Really made me nostalgic for Estelle and Joshua's adventure. Great music choice, also noticed the Ys one in there as well.
Another thing Fall Guys was removed from Steam store when Epic Games bought it or after while. So it wouldn't be able to get new players thought Steam. So looking only at Steam stats might be mistake that you made. Even then it probably would be same case if Fall Guys would stay on Steam store for Stumble Guys - Stumble Guys gets more downloads.

@@survived4679 The only thing better about the Epic Store is the free games. Other than that it's worse in every way. Download speeds are slower, Ui is worse, controller support is non-exsistent compared to big picture mode, you can't launch games that aren't on Epic through the launcher, customization is worse, there's no community pages or forums, there isn't a way to view change logs and future updates from the launcher, there's no way to play older versions of games, no player reviews, etc.

I found the game about some meme videos on tiktok, the best way to describe this game was a "so bad its good" quality and so i downloaded it and actualy ended up enjoying however i started to get mad about when most players uses the punch or kick emotes (which can be obtained from the battle pass) since i was a f2p it ended up me quitting the game. Fall Guys not being available on mobile is a big reason why it's not growing. I'm sure I'd play it a ton more if I could have it on my phone. I think currently I have skipped 2 full seasons, maybe more.

Steam player count is not a good metric to use when Fall Guys hasn't been available on Steam for years now
this might be because of my potato laptop at the time but, while playing fall guys, i couldn't play more than 2 rounds, rarely getting to round 2 because it constantly disconnected me. I was playing normally and suddenly everyone starts to slide and i get sent to the menu. Everytime
