Walking in Nashville on a Saturday night
Nashville is the capital of the U.S. state of Tennessee and home to Vanderbilt University. Legendary country music venues include the Grand Ole Opry House, home of the famous “Grand Ole Opry” stage and radio show. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and historic Ryman Auditorium are Downtown, as is the District, featuring honky tonks with live music and the Johnny Cash Museum

  • Nashville used to have a lot of charm…turning it into Las Vegas over the last 17 years that killed that.

  • Couple notes as a resident of Nashville and occasional visitor to Lower Broadway: Blanco is a great Mexican restaurant (at beginning of video). Also, the people watching is amazing, it’s just so formulaic, so little originality among the folks wandering around…you will always see bachelorettes, the ladies in funky wigs, bros, and country bumpkins who are just checking out the big city. The music scene, while also kind of formulaic, is really pretty impressive.

The closest place to get a hot sandwich at lunch was Tootsies grill. I rode the bus in from Hermitage to work because the parking lots charged $2.00 a day. Expensive at the time. I have watched it all gradually change over the years. Some good stuff no doubt but the charm that we used to have in Nashville is gone. Enjoyed watching this.

As the camera passes the family you first see the young girl holding up the "L" to her forehead, and then the mom and dad hold the "L" up to their forehead as well.

Now in 2024, there’s like 2 or 3 places that still play real country music downtown. Nashville is not known for music any longer. It’s known for parties and binge drinking! A dirty city, especially after dark. A liberal run city.

In this video I like what I see, I'm from a small town in the middle of nowhere in Spain but I've been in all the main towns in Europe and some in the U.S. and Being a musician myself, Nashville is a very nice place to spend a few days going to watch live music shows, etc and most important it still has the typical Southern looks and good vibe. You go these days to London, Paris, Dublin, Barcelona and only see Middle East all covered women and that kind of shit because of the out of control immigration. Trust me this is way better than that. I watched a similar video about after midnight in L.A and it was shit if you compare with Nashville for sure. Standing in line, waiting to get into the Grand Ole Ryman auditorium for a Friday and Saturday show that would play until sometimes 1-2 am. Whoever showed up to play that night got their turn on stage. Good clean entertainment. My Dad always got Row 5 center seats 1thru5. Old hard ass church benches. I thought I would love to go back just to sit one more time and listen to a show at the Ryman before I pass. But after seeing how it's turned into a Sodom and Gomorrah.😢 Hell, I could go to New Orleans on Burbon Street during Madi Gras and see the same thing. Guess that's the reason I don't watch the CMA awards anymore or listen to this NEW COUNTY B.S. Can you imagine Roy Acuff or Hank Williams Sr. presenting Jelly Belly or Jelly Roll an award!! So I'll just keep my good memories of the old Nashville.

    @woodfordreserve6673@woodfordreserve66736 ай бұрын
    • Tootsies is the laughing stock of the locals. The bartenders are rude and a money pit for tourists. The music ( if you want to call it that) is not traditional. I’ve been to Nashville about 100 times in the last fifteen years. I darken the doors of Tooties 3 times and tried around and walked out. Layla’s and Robert’s are about the only country places still down there.
