Walking in Nashville on a Saturday night
Nashville is the capital of the U.S. state of Tennessee and home to Vanderbilt University. Legendary country music venues include the Grand Ole Opry House, home of the famous “Grand Ole Opry” stage and radio show. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and historic Ryman Auditorium are Downtown, as is the District, featuring honky tonks with live music and the Johnny Cash Museum
Nashville used to have a lot of charm…turning it into Las Vegas over the last 17 years that killed that.
thanks for sharing this- had no idea it was so loud and flashy out there. reminds me of vegas.
thank you for watching , glad you enjoyed
I was just in Vegas this weekend. Freemont street. Crazy party and live music. I just want some great luve music in Nashville. I would rather find local spots.
Death on Music Row. A truth lyrics sang by two of the most respected country music entertainers.
Well, South Broadway and Music Row are two different parts of Nashville. What you’re looking at is South Broadway.
It was called “Murder on Music Row.”
Roberts Western World still has top notch talent and decent audiences..Burgers are good too.
Good people having a good time. - and music everywhere.
When I was a kid I’d never thought Nashville would be like this it seemed so small as a child but now we are like a mini Vegas there are tourist here 7 days a week it’s the #1 place in America for bridal showers!
World
You mean bachelorette parties but I got ya lol
It’s not a mini Vegas. It’s not even close to being in Vegas. Stop talking about Nashville like it even compares to Las Vegas. That’s your fucking problem and that’s the problem with Nashville. Is it a fucking hillbilly junkyard of stupidity I live there for four years I couldn’t wait to get the hell out of there.
Thank you for reminding me how lucky I am to live in the woods far from the maddening crowd.
Looks like another one of America's shit hole cities
Sister fcking too!
I was in Nashville about 15-20 years ago and had a wonderful time, polite people, mellow moments with some mindbendingly good music, and a real unique flavor for a mid-sized city. I’ve talked it up ever since. I guess I can stop doing that now!
One of the biggest Guitar pawn shops is there..from all the musicians who dreamed of making it big in country music
Know the name? Sounds interesting. Almost sad too . Headed for Nashville in a few weeks
@@kennyb4748 it starts with a G
Fantastic and bold videography provided an enlightening experience of a city I've never seen. Thanks
thank you for watching , glad you enjoyed 😀
Looks like fun to me. Great video
it is , Nashville is very fun , thank you for watching
Great camera work, you captured the mood of the people, having a good time.
thank you so much , yes Nashville is great
Couple notes as a resident of Nashville and occasional visitor to Lower Broadway: Blanco is a great Mexican restaurant (at beginning of video). Also, the people watching is amazing, it’s just so formulaic, so little originality among the folks wandering around…you will always see bachelorettes, the ladies in funky wigs, bros, and country bumpkins who are just checking out the big city. The music scene, while also kind of formulaic, is really pretty impressive.
Do you still live there? I'm looking for the music. Truly local spots are more my kind of spot. If you know of any, I would appreciate some names. I'm staying about 10 minutes' drive east to downtown. Thanks
such an unusual video, I LOVED it, thanks
thank you for watching , glad you enjoyed 😀
Didn’t hear much real country music while watching this ! Sad😉😎
I was thinking the same thing, the wife and I were planning to go next summer but not now
Seems a lot of ‘get off my lawn’ folks are commenting. And I’m old😎
Scenic views of the Nashville, spending time to walk on the street can be a great way to relax and escape from the stresses of everyday life
thank you for watching
There’s also museums, record stores, and other places to see. Stay away from the zoo.
Nashville is AMAZING! I have lived here all my life and I love it BUT my how things have changed. Downtown Nashville is like a little NYC on the weekends. I love it but it sure ain’t the little country town I once knew
You mean like the tourist in NYC because this is nothing like a NYC street
@@laceybanter5937 Well no shit lol 😂- just saying “it’s like” not stating there are as many people here as there are in NYC. But cool 👍
Do you recommend anywhere else in US that’s got the country bars but maybe not as touristy. We came from Scotland to Nashville 14 years ago as I love country music but it looks very different now and much busier.
@@thetattooedguy1413 I was not referring to number of people. People are very diverse in NYC. Nashville not so much
@@laceybanter5937 Now that I will definitely agree with lol 😂
I lived there for 27 years, was in the music biz. Left 3 years ago for the NC mountains and never looked back. It's become a zoo.
How. Please explain
Traffic congestion, decreased parking, panhandling, street crime, inadequate mass transit. The city isn't keeping its infrastructure up with the population growth.
I can 100% relate. I was born and raised in Nashville, and still live here. I’m 40 years old and I can tell you 20 years ago downtown Nashville was a fun place to go to. It’s not anymore.
Just wanted to give you all a shout out from capital records here in Nashville l wanted to say thanks to all of Johnny Cashes crew it was nice loading his luggage to American Air lines and to meet him in person on my break,
We live 20 minutes away and can’t stomach lower Broad. They’ve ruined our once beautiful city.
💯 same here. I live about 15 min. from downtown. I used to love going down there on weekends, but I haven't gone at night in years cause it's so trash now. Hell, the entire Mid TN area has been ruined, just in different ways.
I wish I could have seen it before people ruined it the first time I went there around 4-5 years ago it was fun but every time I go back it seems more crowded so sad tourism is ruining it.
We can blame a lot of the fake country for this bs too
The world most have not got the memo that it was “your” city.
X
Thanks for stopping by and seeing my band at Rippys!
hey how are you brother , that was cool , great band you have , good luck with everything 😀
Lord help us.
Now I remember why I NEVER go downtown Nashville anymore.
Do you know of any local music spots. I'm staying 2 blocks from 5 Points.
@@tonyvalle794 The Basement East 917 Woodland St, Nashville,
Same way in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge soo crowded and expensive!! Enjoy some of the trip but it’s like being on a Vegas strip 😞
yea I was in pigeon forge I know east your saying , thank you for watching 😀
That settles it NEVER going to Nashville..........Thanks
Nashville done gone and turned into Atlanta. I cut around all that mess and head straight to Laylas!
It looks like Vegas. I was just there
Disney World for drunks 😂😂😂
When walking on the sidewalks, watch out for falling chairs!
Looks awesome! Cant wait to visit. 🤙🤙
thank you for watching , it’s a very fun place with live music in every bar
Wish i could be in Nashville having fun
spent half of my life a few minutes East of there. You just reminded me of many things of downtown Nashburgh that I miss... ...and, also, reminded me of all-that-trash in the streeta that I never liked and won't miss Thanks !
People having fun without hurting anyone. We have three towns up here on Long Island with lots of music, restaurants, and fun on the weekends. Different vibe and sound, but also diverse and upbeat.
I played hundreds of gigs down there back in the 2010 -14 time frame and it’s all the same songs, except that Tyler Childers that was ending as you walked up. It was interesting , almost like a time portal from the times I walked around that lower broadway area. Thanks for doing the work 🤘🤘
This was was brilliant walk around 👍👌
thank you for watching 😀
And this as a Native Nashvillian is why I dont go downtown.
Do you know of any local music spots? I'm coming specifically to hear the music and see the music hall of fame. I'm an old musician. Thanks
It's sad to not see enough country music which Nashville known for. It's obvious by Nudies bar band that it's all about the beer and whiskey sales.
Wow! Joints jumpin'! Looks like wild nights!!
It happens 7 days a week here
LOOKS LIKE A PARTY TO ME!!! What a place to spend a Saturday night....
great and fun place to be at , thank you for watching 😀
I liked the band at Nudies. The streets are too crowded for my liking, but it's been that way for years.
I am heading there soon, Love the video! thanks
Don't waste your time or money, place is a smelly shit hole
What did you love about it? 12 years ago, yes. But now, a dump!
Still better than New Orleans.
I second that, after walking down bourbon street the first night there I didn’t care to go back LoL
Yeah right😂😂😂😂😂😂
In the 70's I worked on 2nd Ave North in a warehouse. 2nd Avenue was all warehouses back then. Lower Broadway, the area you just walked through consisted of pawn shops and XXX bookstores. The closest place to get a hot sandwich at lunch was Tootsies grill. I rode the bus in from Hermitage to work because the parking lots charged $2.00 a day. Expensive at the time. I have watched it all gradually change over the years. Some good stuff no doubt but the charm that we used to have in Nashville is gone. Enjoyed watching this.
good times , thank you for watching 😀
enjoyed that performance that started at 10 mins!!!
that is a great band , that is what Nashville is all about , great live music
There's much more to do there besides the bars. Great placefor agent away. Great visei!
LOVE this city!
Do you know of any local music spots. I'm staying by 5 points
Pretty fun place, apparently. A great diversity of people. These bars are really cool too, live bands, and good musicians.
Hadn't been to Nashville for 20 years . Wow
thank you for watching
That band in Nudies rocked!
yes I like that band , thank you for watching 😀
The best youtube video on Nashville
thank you so much 😀
Exellent video in that you get a good idea what the bands & clubs are like. I thought the family putting up the "looser" hand sign was funny. They may have been offended by someone shooting a video of them, and didn't realize they would be on KZhead for eternity for doing so, lol.
thank you I’m glad you enjoyed , where in the video is that I would like to watch it
@@JohnnyAzariaTV Its a long video, it would take quite a while to find it. Skip through until you get to the part where the camera goes down a vacant path. Camera guy is on the right side of the road, and the street has construction equipment making the path narrow. You first see a young girl, pointing her phone, recording the person recording the family. As the camera passes the family you first see the young girl holding up the "L" to her forehead, and then the mom and dad hold the "L" up to their forehead as well.
@@TimKaseyMythHealergood way to save time and money
12 years ago Nashville was still a nice place to go. You could see some crumbling beginning to happen but still had country music. Now in 2024, there’s like 2 or 3 places that still play real country music downtown. Nashville is not known for music any longer. It’s known for parties and binge drinking! A dirty city, especially after dark. A liberal run city.
Yep, been a Nashvillian for 34 years. I worked downtown for many of them and know every one of those streets. BUT, it's not the same anymore. I will say except for about 30 years ago when they cleaned up the 'adult' shops. That was a move up at least. Still, I live only 6 miles south of this mayhem and have no desire to go downtown anymore.
Very cool video!
thank you for watching , glad you enjoyed 😀
@@JohnnyAzariaTV all that noise WITHOUT traffic! When were you there? There was so much construction

here I see a lot of people badmouthing Nashville.... In this video I like what I see, I'm from a small town in the middle of nowhere in Spain but I've been in all the main towns in Europe and some in the U.S. and Being a musician myself, Nashville is a very nice place to spend a few days going to watch live music shows, etc and most important it still has the typical Southern looks and good vibe. You go these days to London, Paris, Dublin, Barcelona and only see Middle East all covered women and that kind of shit because of the out of control immigration. Trust me this is way better than that. I watched a similar video about after midnight in L.A and it was shit if you compare with Nashville for sure. Anyway I'll see by myself because I'm going to Nasxhville in a few months.
you are so right about everything you said , Nashville is amazing , it’s so great going from bar to bar with live music 😀
It's all fake though.. The good stuff is in Madison, where the lefties are.
I'm an American and I live in Cardiff Wales and you're right, theres an Islamic invasion. In Cardiff though on a Fri and Sat night you see clad dressed Welsh women drunk and throwing up everywhere as well as the men. You'd think a bomb dropped on the place with the mess in the morning. city totally trashed.
Wonderful video. I’m still trying to visit there after Oshkosh. Surprised not hear many female solo artists.
How bout Miwaukee, a great city!!
How bout Milwaukee, a great city!!!
I'm so glad you showed the New Nashville. My Dad always took us to Nashville in the 60's and 70's. And God, what memories I have. That was when country music was true country. Standing in line, waiting to get into the Grand Ole Ryman auditorium for a Friday and Saturday show that would play until sometimes 1-2 am. Whoever showed up to play that night got their turn on stage. Good clean entertainment. My Dad always got Row 5 center seats 1thru5. Old hard ass church benches. I thought I would love to go back just to sit one more time and listen to a show at the Ryman before I pass. But after seeing how it's turned into a Sodom and Gomorrah.😢 Hell, I could go to New Orleans on Burbon Street during Madi Gras and see the same thing. Guess that's the reason I don't watch the CMA awards anymore or listen to this NEW COUNTY B.S. Can you imagine Roy Acuff or Hank Williams Sr. presenting Jelly Belly or Jelly Roll an award!! So I'll just keep my good memories of the old Nashville.
Such history, a better time. You recollect a piece a history that was truly a better time, the 'real' life and spirit of what used to be country🤔!! Thank You!! The country music scene/industry, now, is a commercialized pimp with a bunch of music whores🤑(i.e. Taylor Swift)🤨. Sad, but True😢.
A terry Dawson 8371 l read your opinion our city is not what it once was time has gone into the future we only can remember the way it once was. Saturdays I would be at the races at the fairground Speedway I remember when you could go to the mall shopping not no more I feel people quit living life 15 years ago malls closing down . Ect everyone carrying guns in stead of bibles I remember when I worked for Allegheny airlines how friendly it once was. Now people are fighting with crew members Stewart's and so on so much for the present. Good luck with life Danny Malliard
@@danmalliard280 As long as there are people who remember these 'once great' cities the way they should be, then maybe an appreciation can be found from the 'responsible' youth, and cities like Nashville can become more family oriented, however unlikely, We must hope!!😐🙏
@@terrydawson8371 downtown from my youth was to stay way from downtown. We hung out at fountain square Hearthrob and Priest Lake, or maybe one of the Malls. Downtown was peep shows, books stores and abandoned printing companies. I worked on Deaderick for FANB in the mid90s when Bredensen started the cleanup.
Best joint there is Laylas. Real music.
Was there when it was cool. That was a quite a while ago.
my biggest dream was to go to nashville, it's absolutely not the idea I had of it... thank you. If I have to go, I'd rather go to the countryside. The city doesn't appeal to me at all... the music isn't country. sad
thank you for watching , your music is beautiful , good luck ❤️😀
Try the stockyards in fort worth, texas. You'll probably get a better scene than this honky tonk rock n roll crap
there a some really good artists/ talent,,,you just need to find them

Huh? Thought that was Vegas for a minute. What a shame.....
Do a walk through Jacksonville Fla. on a Saturday night Down town and nothing is there . The crime and lack of parking is why no body will go there. They city has spent mega millions on attractions and it is always a waste of tax payers money. What a hell hole.
Couldn’t have said it any better. It looked like a ghost town. Ended up going to a McDonalds and they had a whole crime scene with bullets on the ground and channel 5 news out there.

I can’t. I just can’t.
I see a whole lotta people needing Jesus.
Good observation 🤙
My hang out was in music row at South Street, no longer there.
Omg no thanks
I used to park my truck at the downtown TA truck stop and catch a cab to Tootsies Orchard Lounge, a truly legendary bar. It was always during the week, I never saw crowds like this.i think that probably would have ruined the experience for me
Tootsies is the laughing stock of the locals. The bartenders are rude and a money pit for tourists. The music ( if you want to call it that) is not traditional. I’ve been to Nashville about 100 times in the last fifteen years. I darken the doors of Tooties 3 times and tried around and walked out. Layla’s and Robert’s are about the only country places still down there.
We are doomed look at the freaks
The freaks are mostly tourists. The locals don't go to Broadway very much. It's the same old show everynight.
Lived in TN for 24 years never been here.

another example how over tourism ruins the best places
Nah disagree. It's self contained on Broadway which is where this video focused. That totally fine, let people visit. It's fun to go down there when friends visit, locals don't hang there normally. Nothing is ruined. Looks way more vibrant, safe, and fun than most cities
@TommyGunzzz where are the good local spots??
I'd say the city ruined itself
