  • If I’ve learned anything from just under five minutes it’s: - Ariana is a really hard worker and that’s respectable! - She has way more freedom in the booth than I expected she would have had - It’s like she and her studio crew are speaking another language - I knew a lot of work went into music, but maybe not this much

    • The beat gets built with just as many layers.. more even... now on the vocals side, Every word, every sentence, every syllable actually with all the harmonies, everything has to be combed thru and then processed, adding compression, equalizer, filters, then you have to adjust the volume/dynamics of each particular voice and harmony that she makes, it's not all at the same volume in decibels (db) some leads are louder some are less loud, secondary, tertiary and adlibs are just in the background and you have all these hums that add character.. then some.are panned (L) some are panned slightly (R) there's so much that goes into it to give you all that stereo final effect.... It's always underestimated by everyone unless you produce.

But I promise you, harmonising is something anyone could learn to do. I'm not saying it's easy or unimpressive, but it kinda undermines the hard work she's put in to be able to do this, and underestimates what you could be capable of.

It seems like she’s just thinking about all this stuff on her own and tracking it out flawlessly. That just shows she knows her voice so well and actually has her one vision for the song. Artists these days don’t fulfill enough space, and often times the engineer has to turn it into something great. She seems to run these studio sessions

Even just by explaining the ideas that u have in mind, some people wouldn't be able to pick that up immediately. But in her case, Ari is too fortunate to have these brilliant people working with her. Kudos to Ari and her team!
