This is a Nuclear-Powered Aircraft Carrier, which can be divided into several parts.
At the top is the deck, divided into two Sections.
This is the landing strip, placed diagonally, and the steam-powered takeoff platform.
On the bridge, there's the antenna and radar system, along with a Tower Air Boss to direct aircraft traffic. Just below is the Captain's Navigation Bridge, Radar, and Radio room.
Inside this aircraft carrier is the Gallery Deck for combat and control operations, which oversee the four Phalanx Close Combat Support systems, and the Sparrow missile Anti-Air Defense System.
Level two is designated for the crew's living space, accommodating up to 50,000 personnel.
The main deck, one of the largest, houses multiple aircraft and weapon systems.
The third deck houses the engineering and electrical shops.
On the fourth deck, you will find two nuclear reactors connected to four generators.
Although classified, we can assume that the front nuclear reactors power the propellers closer to them, while the reactors connected to the generators power the propellers in the back
But wait, we will also look at the parts and functions of a Nuclear-Powered Aircraft Carrier explained in a super-simplified animation.
Let's not forget the importance of a carrier strike group how they operate complete with its heavyweight aircraft fighter jets and Helicopters, so stay tuned and don't miss a beat."

After spending five years of my naval career stationed on two different Nimitz class aircraft carriers, I was surprised at the amount of information that was accurate. • I am a former crew member of a CVN. you got it mostly correct, good job. Navy doesn't operate F-16 off carriers though. Also the radar range is much further than 300 miles once you take into account the ships E-2 Hawkeye aircraft that make its vision range much much further. The aircraft it carries increase her capabilities by factors.

  • The E-2C Hawkeye's radar detection radius is over a 225mile radius! Plus, the E-2 Hawkeye can fly over an additional 150+ miles from the carrier. During the PGW #1 each of the five carriers in the Persian Gulf, had at least one guided missile cruiser and five guided missile destroyers for escorts. There was also one USN carrier battle group in the eastern Mediterranean Sea with the same number and types of escort ships.

  • Your description of the engineering spaces is mostly correct. Some errors. After the main engines reductions gears there are no electrical generators. In reality there are TWO power generators, completely independent of the main engines, driving by steam turbines like the main engines. Also, engineering spaces make up decks 4-9. The actually machinery and reactor spaces reside on decks 5-9). Deck four contains electrical load centers and other supporting equipment. Also the machinery spaces (main engines etc) and reactor spaces are separate spaces divide by a bulkhead.

  • You guys are normally pretty factual but damn, the F-16 mention is a pretty big oversight. It also sounds like you’re saying the Phalanx and CIWS are separate systems but they’re the exact same weapon system. Minor nitpicks: A key function of the Arleigh Burke class destroyers is anti submarine warfare but that wasn’t mentioned, implying they were primarily anti-air. The scale of the F/A-18 to the elevator to the carrier is off. As correctly stated the elevator can accommodate two fighters yet as displayed only one could fit.

    • Hi as discussed we got it from Naval Forums and interviews from former Sailors. But it's still classified so mostly take our video with a pinch of salt
