Fields has zero chance of beating out Russ. He was traded to the Steelers precisely because the Bears wanted him on his next team’s bench. They didn’t need the distraction of Fields starting while Caleb struggles. They know him. He doesn’t have what it takes to beat out Russ at any point in time. He has a slight athletic advantage, but that isn’t enough to compensate for Russ’s advantages as a passer.
