I got my hands on the Avata 2 and flew it first time yesterday. A long time user of DJI products ( Osmo, Mavic, Phantom, Air ) but first time FPV pilot and I gotta say the Avata 2 was the most fun I've had flying in quite a while. Took me about 10 minutes to wrap my head around the motion controller and I then I was flying low and fast to the ground, hitting gaps, etc. Very fun drone. Excited to continue to get better at it. Gonna get confident flying it indoors so I can use my Part 107 doing realtor video walkthroughs.

I consider myself an experienced Part 107 pilot. I have film as well as TV series credits for my drone work. I've been into photography since I was 10 years old and even had an enlarger and dark room back in the day. Your explanation of ISO, Shutter Speed, and other photo/video basics, was INCREDIBLE. Even though I have experience with drones and videography, I learned a lot about my first FPV drone from this video. Keep up the great work

Really well done mate, I'm new to fpv and just picked up the Avata 2 with RC3. I really wish the controller worked with the DJI virtual flight game so I could practice though. This is hands down the best video I've watched so far on the AV2. Cheers.

I didn’t know this. Why won’t it work if anyone knows? I used that sim with the original DJI fpv. I was looking forward to practicing there. Is this a firmware update or this will never be a thing?

Very useful video! One thing I have discovered is that the menus presented when using the motion controller aren't as complete as those when using the Goggles3 5D buttons. Format SD cards, and Start video on take-off are two examples. The Activa 2 is certainly a different beast compared to the Mavic Air it it replacing!

I thought the same thing, but the Avata 2 is amazing to learn on. It’s my first FPV, and I’m already shooting gaps and zipping around at full speed. No crashes yet, only bumped a few things when I got too close, lol. It’s a blast!

Just the left one. This is because the left stick becomes the throttle in manual mode - so you don't want it to center automatically as that would mean the throttle is always at 50%!
Hi! So DJI chose electronic stabilisation instead of gimbal- axis stabilisation or there is both on the avata 2 ?
Shouldn't I set the aspect ratio to 4:3 if I use gyroflow to stabilize? Has more data on to and bottom since it s the native resolution isn't it?

I bought my avata because of your amazing content and tutorials and now i got the avata 2 as well and about to set it up. Keep up the great work :D Btw do you recommend turning off the EIS on the Avata 2 if i'm going to use gyroflow or should i leave on the rocksteady option ?
That's awesome! If you want to use Gyroflow you must turn off Rocksteady and set the FOV to wide to have the drone store the gyro data to the video file.

Do you know (if I may ask) if there is a way to TILT the cam of the Avata 2 using the latest Motion Controller DURING a flight other than HEAD-TRACKING... I noticed that the little rotating wheel on the Motion Controller only tilts the cam of the Avata 2 up/down when still on the ground... I think even before stsarting the motors... Of course with the FPV Controller 2 it is possible... Thank you so very much for an answer... have a nice day and take care! Max

I just got my Avata 2 fly more combo a couple days ago. When i go into settings to enable PIP, I do not have a option for that. I have real view 2D and can switch that to 3D, Just no option for PIP below it. Am i missing something or did DJI take that away for USA drones?
I have a question, i am without EU, i bought my Avata 2 here, i assume it's in CE (or C1?) Mode... At the moment i comeback to my country (Venezuela, Latinamerica) should my dron put in FCC Mode automatically? Or should i do it "manually"? Also before to go back to my country i will visit Indonesia, i guess the dron will put automatically in FCC Mode too? Thanks a lot in advance
I NEED YOU TO MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT THE DJI AVATA 2 only supporting MP4 and not MOV. The Avata 1 supported both. Hopefully in the future they will have a software update where it can support both MP4 and MOV. I use a iPhone which is why I need the Avata 2 to start supporting MOV.
Is it normal for avata2 with distance about 400m already bad signal? Any advice for transmission setting?
I recently ordered myself to get some nice camera footage. So far the device is quite nice and easy to use, but my biggest complaint is the camera. No matter how much I tune my settings in DLOG is still outputs a very grainy, overexposed image. Are there any settings that might help with this?

Please do a new video, updating what are best drone apps now. Especially since your last video was a year ago and AirMap is no longer supported. AirMap was an awesome international airspace guide, but I don’t know what is best to replace it in May 2024.

Nice. But, i have to say that turning the grid lines on in an urban environment, is very confusing, because many times i thought that i was near to an electric line, and finaly i was looking at the X of the grid lines. So, i turned it off

one thing I hate about the avata 2 is when I want to record in 30fps, the feed in the goggles changes to 30fps too. very annoying, I'm kinda forces to record in high fps to have a smoother feed in the goggles.
This is a great point. It would be nice to be able to record in one FPS, and view another in the goggles but I suspect that would require 2 cameras.
For me picture in picture not working :/
It badly needs a tune up (it is VERY loose compared to my other Cinewhoops) and throttle expo setting for manual mode. I don't know why they think a Cinewhoop doesn't need throttle expo, it's one of the easiest things to tweak to get keep nice consistent lines and height as you fly especially in tight environments.
There is no beginner mode in my settings
Is anyone else having difficulty finding "advanced camera settings"? Just not an option on my camera menu. I've checked that I scrolled completely down. Must be doing something wrong?
Mine only shows up when the drone is also on and paired with the gimbal protector off. If the drone isn't on and connected, some settings do not show up
Propeller guards are not field replaceable therefore this is not a travel friendly drone. Neither is it business friendly if you are using it for your e.g real estate business. It needs to be sent back to DJI for guard replacement, therefore your business will have downtime. This was a HUGE mistake by DJI designers.
This is why as a business you need a backup, so you buy a second Avata 2
Still very difficult to pilot this kind of drone. Tomorrow drones will not have any remote. HOVER Air X1 is now a step further
Mate you need to point to the correct side of the screen its a bit lazy not to have your finger point in the correct place.
Come on KZheadrs! A million of you does one product review. How about make a video to target. Why do we need so many controllers? DJI IS NOT being environmentally friendly. You KZheadrs must reach out to DJI to also have the controller 3 compatible with others drones like the Mini 4 and Air 3 Or the RC 2 compatible with the Avata 2. This seems so logical why hasn't DJI done this? It's all O4 so it should just be a software update.
Really disappointed with the goggles,the field of view is smaller, the floppy face skirt is a joke. The drone feels nice and solid but the arm/disarm in normal is still a joke, why we cannot have a single click is beyond me. Signal is poor, lost video feed 80m away behind a bush
