  • She played this whole piece without a paper reference and did it with skill and confidence. Splendid performance by the orchestra and Brava Alexandra. Bravo Vivaldi.

    • It's absolutely stunning to me how she holds the memory of every single note of the whole performance in her mind. Her timing as well is beyond perfect. I've watched so many Four Seasons orchestras playing this and none are as exceptional as she. She plays many other master's entire pieces the same way too. I can't fathom how a mind can not just contain so much information but express it with such subtlety and nuance.

  • I keep coming back to this performance. Any other group playing this masterpiece are great, no doubt. But these musicians have a version that surpasses them all. I thought every orchestra playing the same symphony were playing it exactly the same but this performance has a nuance and subtlety that makes a fantastic set of music phenomenal. The main cello player has such a unique style of playing and boy is he ever a talent and then some. I cannot get through watching this without tears, it literally touches my soul profoundly. I'm in awe that a person could think up this music, no other life form in the universe could scale these heights.

    • @samgriffiths8928The way he bounces his bow off the strings in a much more pronounced way (like at 36:36) is very clever on his part. The kinetic energy the descending bow has upon the strings is like it hits the ground running so to speak and can flow into the note rather than start it. The other celloist has a bounce too of course but it’s much more reserved and in a standard fashion. His way has a very subtle effect but like a spice in a great dish you can't place it gives it such a flavor, that je ne sais quoi. He has a great elbow placement and follow through and his angle of approach with his bow is higher than what you'd typically see. At some times his playing may give the appearance of being aggressive but in actuality it isn't. He has mastered strength and power with a subtlety that is very difficult yet he makes it look easy. What I like about his more pronounced bowing bounce technique is that it allows a continuity of momentum so his notes so deftly meld together.

  • For more than 20 years I have been listening to Vivaldi's The 4 Seasons in the laboratory, when I need to relax, read or concentrate. After listening to many interpreters, my favorite interpreter was Itzhak Perlman and I spent many years listening only his interpretation, because I noticed minimal differences in other interpreters that I did not like, I don't know why, since I am neither a musician nor an expert. About 6 or 7 years ago I heard this interpretation by Alexandra Conunova, it simply fascinated me and it became my favorite interpretation, because it surpasses what seemed insurmountable. For me it is an interpretation, simply perfect but as I say it is my taste and my opinion. The sound quality also influences since the Itzhak Perlman concert was from 2006. In any case, how great VIVALDI is, I can't imagine what he must have felt creating something so impressive and perfect. Let your children listen to this wonder, when they do their homework or crafts, you will see how they relax, concentrate and enjoy.

  • Reminds us of Northern Brittany 45 years ago, seeing the local farmers collecting seaweed off the beach and a poor old carthorse dragging tons of it up the sand dunes under grey skies. we were young then and our kids, all 4 of them, were all under 10. Wonderful memories. We're pushing 80 now and I'm looking after my wife, practically wheelchair bound, and, for good measure, has vascular dementure, single handed. Nobody can do it like I can. Please, make the most of life.

The cello player closest to the audience is really amazing too. The way he bounces that bow with such intensity and precision really does it for me. • Alexandra Conunova's executions bring me closer to God, motivates me to have noble thoughts, to show my love for people, to do good to those in need, to see the world inhabited by people who are always motivated to do good, to see others happy. The interesting thing is that classical music always does well, but Alexandra's features are highly appropriate and worthy of praise. After all, it is beautiful. Irajá B. Soares, Recife, Brazil.
