The Gatling-Style Rotary Cannons is a rapid-firing multiple-barrel firearm invented in 1861 by Richard Jordan Gatling. It is an early machine gun and a forerunner of the modern electric motor-driven rotary cannon. The cyclic multi-barrel design synchronizes the firing sequence. Each barrel fires a single cartridge when it reaches a certain position in the rotation, after which the spent casing is ejected at a different position and then a new round is loaded at another position. During the cycle, the barrel has more time to dissipate some heat away to the surrounding air.

Amazing!! 25mm!! .50 cal three. Or four barrels!! I didn't know that. Wow those rotary cannons are incredible and terrifying.
OUTSTANDING !!!
Can NEVER EVER get sick of that sound from them AND all that fire power OMFG Just love it so much ❤
What brilliant systems guys keep up the good work 💪
That was a great summary. Thank you very much!
Grate product !
At 4:25 him saying “yeah” it spoke to me.
Wow those rotary cannons are incredible and terrifying
Except fo rthe F-35 which they have problems with the aim and aren't hitting targets.
OMG they are so powerful this weapons
Some of these are averaging 100 rounds per second, that’s amazing. The mechanical engineering needed to feed it the ammo is awesome. Some of these 20mm cannons are moving way over 1000 pounds of weight just in ammo per second. It’s like a grandfather clock and a cannon had a baby
Perfect
Great video

Have the fixed the aiming problems with the GAU-22/A for the F-35? That thing had problems hitting the broad side of a barn. It also doesn’t carry very many rounds. Sure it fires at a rate of 3300 round/minute but after 182 rounds or 3.3 seconds it’s not firing anything because it’s out of ammo.
Hey, “Steve”? How many channels do you cover I’m a big fan of what you do an thank you for the amazing knowledge you provide I wish the best for you my friend please keep me in mind. Smart man🤔
3:00 I used to wire hardware like that on Subs while in the Navy. MM2 38A

Great Video, Thanks Sam & Crew of U.S. Military News. 👍 🇺🇸
Awesome video
The M61A1 is Electrically controlled and Hydraulically operated. The Rounds are Electrically fired When a M61 gun system malfunctions it's usually the Ammo Vutes or Entrance or Exit unit
6:58 Nice shot grouping.
Suii powerful
As a Vulcan crewmember, I approve this message.
Are you referring to the British Royal Air Force Cold War-era low altitude supersonic bomber that saw action in the 1982 Falklands war with Argentina?
No, I am referring to the shorad 20mm gun system
@@techfixr2012 Oh, ... Sorry about that. It's just that when you said you were a Vulcan crewmember, ... Well, now you know what I mean. I meant no offense by that. Sorry. Still, was that that gun that was used towards the end of the Afghanistan gig?
With the emergance of drones, Gun based short range air defense is important again.
@@techfixr2012 For now, that's TRUE! At least, until Directed Energy Weapons mature enough to be practical on the battlefield, wherever that may be!

WOW, THATS FIRE POWER! John P.
Dear Santa. I would like a magical backpack for my minigun that never runs out of ammo.
Now this is an ASMR video I can get behind. So much ear candy 😍😍
Watching Phalanx, you’re looking at a part of the system that the company I worked for (retired) supplied. I was talking to an ex-Navy guy, a couple of months ago, and he surprised me by saying that Phalanx wasn’t well liked among crew.
did the crew say why?
I want 2 of each please.
Yo dude my gun has a plane
Brrrrrrrrrr
Can’t wait for the GAU 2024 Protester Edition
Just ordered the GAU-8 for my truck. Should be here by the end of the month. Opted for the orange paint scheme.
I think every household should have one actually 4 one for every corner of your property
Bei 1000 Schuß, trifft vielleicht einer! Viel Spaß bei der Munitionsproduktion 😂😂
Really makes me feel safe knowing our forces are perfect for us and them.

0:02 are those candy corns?
Close. It's Halloween candy for someone's worst nightmare.
Very cooool gun'z. Roa Aotearoa nui.
How is there little to no recoil with such a large round & high cyclic rate?? The weight, being bolted down to its weapons delivery system??
You forgot to mention how we got the CIWS weapons system! An A-10 got pregnant by R2-D2 after some Netflix and Chill and 9 months later we got the Phalanx CIWS :-)
"No cars was damaged on this video." Star-Wars-troopers :D
No. 1 In th world, wow awesome
Very peacefull 👍
@@alfonsothomson Better Wild Boars🐗 it gives enough in this Times 🔥👍
How powerful that weapon
Remember the movie Predator? No way in hell a person could carry that much ammo.
Question which of these Gatling guns would work best for mosquitoes?
Here at GE we make lightbulbs and things to put your lights out.
remember we can buy a m61 as long as it was made before 1986
Just remember to pay your $200 tax stamp lol

How about one of those miniguns popping out of a black SUV involved in a USSS Presidential detail?
SHHHHHH!!!!!!😇
You could mount a container next to this gun to collect discarded shells. It could save some money.
That brrrrrrrrrrrt sounds really satisfied
The next president should at least be able to load and shoot a mini gun
"Uh, uh...should that missile be wobbling that violently, sir?" (1:42) XD
Popular with military and law enforcement! What police are using this?
The Harriers and the B1 Lancers that are going to be retired you know are going to Australia just like the FB 111. They get all our cool stuff that isn't really obsolete. We just don't want to pay for maintenance and we don't have enough pilots so we send stuff there. If they ever retire the A10 you can bet they get a second life in Australia.
The F-36's BRRRRRTTT is so cool
Where are the barrels on the f35?
Give us for Myanmar PDF one gun
Is it ironic I skipped the non lethal gun ad to see this?
What law enforcement setting requires a m134 minigun?
My thoughts exactly. What would you want to do? Make hamburger meat of protesters?
Take a vacation to Mexico or Columbia and find out.

Sorry, the cannon for the A-10 was not mounted in it, the A-10 was built around the cannon system.
Youre splitting hairs. Regardless of how it was designed,it still has to be mounted somwhow. Its floating around loose
Mounted just means attached to the plane...whch it is

5:40 I'd like to select the 2000 RPM option please.
You're forgetting the GAU-13, the little brother of the GAU-8 Avenger &, as its quad-barreled little brother, it also uses the same 30x173mm! Don't really know what happened to it after Gulf War 1 showed that, as a gun pod mounted weapon, it had too much recoil for F-16s doing gun runs after 1 day. Maybe you know?
Why do the cops need a mini-gun ??? 😮😮😮
M134 in law enforcement settings. Holy shit
Hardest part of making these things is feeding them pigs
US 🇺🇸🙏
9:41 Is it reasonable to use that many tracer rounds? Sorry, not objections from me really. I'll just mind my own business, lol.
There is only one tracer for every five rounds fired.
they can also be mounted on the T-800 Terminators 💀💀💀💀
Law enforcement using the M134? Love to see an example of that.
More lead - Great.
I think a lot of these are depleted uranium or something ele
Whose "Law Enforcement" uses a minigun?!?
Can anyone tell mi why it needs to spin?
Thats how its designed. The purpose was explaind thoroughly in the video if youd listen
🔥 $ YES.
BRRRRRRRTTTTT
The rounds per minute seems to be overkill, for a ground cannon i suppose it's okay because it's easier to reload. But on an airplane, they should reduce that.
The rpm is only necessary on planes because when you're moving hundreds of feet per second, you need to fill every few inches with rounds to ensure you hit your target
😊👍🌹
