I'm a TIG welder in a stainless steel pipe shop, I may be able to dig up some scraps and knock together a stainless version for you, I don't know how well a 300-series (all I regularly have access to at work) will handle that kind of heat though.

    @RTL_CSQ@RTL_CSQ3 жыл бұрын
    • Most of it is still in the chloride form. A better question is what happened to 65% of the lithium. To which the answer is: measurement error, the oil and oxide coating the metal has weight but doesn’t contribute to the reaction. Side reactions, from water in the salt and air in the chamber. And metal that did not react, you can see it burning when I opened the chamber.

    • @@theCodyReeder What is the more expensive reagent here, lithium metal or caesium chloride? So you could've added more lithium, but my first research shows, that their value is about the same, then it probably wouldn't help much. You only trade in more lithium to use up some more of the caesium chloride present. Maybe you would contaminate the caesium metal with lithium metal condensate at some point!? So you may want to test for the lithium content in your product to dial-in the stoichiometry!

Your dedication to ingenuitive experimentation gives me inspiration to continue trying new things even when I only have simple tools and common materials at my disposal. Secondly I notice you have a slight tremor in your hand which is unusual in a young man such as yourself. Have you had your blood checked for metal levels lately? When I worked in gold assay we were monitored for lead. My blood/lead levels were detectable and safe. It really is invaluable to have such information. Thanx for the vids!!
