NIKKOR Z 800mm F6.3 VR S Phase Fresnel Lens | Hands On with Seth Miranda
Seth Miranda got his hands on the NIKKOR ZTM 800mm f/6.3 VR S, which is the lightest and easiest to carry 800mm super-telephoto lens that Nikon has ever created. Using a Phase Fresnel element, this lens is great for all kinds of photography such as birding, wildlife, and sports. It also has S-Line optics, VR, fast and quiet autofocus, premium weather sealing, and a weight balance that is optimized for fluid panning. With this 800mm lens, you can pack lighter, cover more ground, and even shoot handheld, on the move.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR WATCHING!
Seth’s enthusiasm for Nikon and Profoto products makes me want to leave the Sony ecosystem for good lol
Everyone’s got great gear these days and it’s a lot of fun I’m lucky enough to get to try it all
You should. :)
Well Done Seth!! Very Informative while positively influenced!!!
I influence no one !
I love this Z 800mm with my Z9 … so light and the photos are amazing. It will even fit into carry-on bags. I almost bought the Z 600mm but when I compared it with the Z 180-600mm I grabbed the Z 180-600mm and the money I saved paid for half of my Z 800mm. Love the ability to hand-hold both lenses easily.
Nikon went hard at the wildlife photographers with this one.
Looks an amazing lens Seth, especially when paired with the Z9. I am still eagerly awaiting the appearance of the Z 200-600mm lens. Hope Nikon can bring that one to market soon!
12k for the whole setup is positively impressive (z9 + 800mm).
Great little video Seth 👍 hope to get my hands one one of this soon. Keep up the Stella work.
Way better review here than dp review
I have been using my 800 for 6 months with the Z9. It is a fantastic lens, everything that I expected and more. It has become my go-to lens for wildlife. The only problem is too many keepers, I don't know what to erase.
Wow what a beauty 😍. I still love my 300 PF for F mount.
Everyone who’s gotten themselves a PF lens seems to always love it
3:44 looks awesome!
Great vid Seth! Have you tried it with other Z models as well?
Good overview
I love your shots! How do you like wildlife photography? Thanks for the review. Nikon sure is doing some amazing things.
Interesting lens. I noticed you have Snow Geese in your area too! Thanks Seth 😎👍🇨🇦
Yea New York isn’t too far from Canada so I’m sure we share some birds
Great, if they ever make it available
Thanks for the review. And BTW, I would hold it by the lens, not the body.
Great review. Hopefully there is a less expensive 400 f/4 pf coming for the rest of us!
"That cloud...." LOL As with all things camera industry these days I can report, I've ordered and am now WAITING for my 800 pf to arrive :)
Cool
I know it's a dumb question. I know nothing about cameras. Can this lens be used for videography ?
Compatible with teleconverters? What does the f-stop change to? Surprised this wasn't mentioned.
Yes, compatible with the Z teleconverters. The 1.4x adds one stop, the 2x adds two.
a bit off track , but why do viewers see so few pro photographers using camera straps when advertising / previewing lenses .ALSO , what ISO were you using on the day of the shoot , and the price of the lens wasn't mentioned , Santa needs to know how much my wish list is going to set him/her/it back
Ordered mine yesterday from your store, work with me buddy get it out
👍🏾🙏🏾
Hallo. Is this lens got bigger zoom than Nikon p1000 ?
No, the P1000 has a 3000mm equivalent maximum focal length. But it's a cheap consumer camera - can't reasonably compare it to a Z9 (or any Z camera) with this new 800 lens.
$$$$$
Much, much cheaper than the new Canon equivalent.
give figures for depth of field, much better
