Attacked at 50 km DOPED like a RAT to win Flanders | Rolf Sørensen

Rolf Sorensen was one of the greatest riders in cycling history. However, his 1997 season was absolutely hilarious, with a hilarious performance in the 1997 Tour of Flanders alongside Bjarne Riis and Luigi Cecchini and winning the silver olympic medal with a legendary show on Atlanta. Want to know how he managed to be the best cyclist of the spring in 1997? #cycling, #sports, #doping

  • To be honest, after being sucked-in hook-line-and-sinker by the whole Lance Armstrong "fairytale", I tend to view cycling as a bit of light entertainment these days (a bit like wrestling on World of Sport, or Gladiators on Saturday night TV). As impressive as the latest generation of wunderkids are, I can't help wondering what is the latest drug that they're all taking that I haven't heard of yet 🤷‍♂️

    • Wrestling is scripted, the racing in cycling is real, I don't see the comparison. In the end there will always be cheating in pro sport and all sports are simply entertainment, nothing else...

  • Your commentary is off-putting. You demean the individual riders for their victories as if their winning was only possible due to doping. But they were all doping! In my opinion, we fans deserve equal criticism, at least those of us who refused to believe or pretended not to believe that pretty much the entire peloton was doped to the gills. It was so obvious. And let's not forget: also gave us exciting racing!

    @crghyz@crghyz Жыл бұрын
    • No, not at all. We believe that doping is also a race in itself. That everyone was doping? Possibly, but some are better than others. We are passionate about doping shows and spectacles and that's why we bring them here. It's not that we say, "oh, damn doping, we have to eradicate it". No, we're fans, we like the sport and we like how these guys are capable of doing anything to achieve fame and fortune. And yes, there are more aspects besides doping, we usually mention them in every video. For example, in this one we highlight Rolf's intelligence when it comes to reading the races.

    • All were doping, when & where exactly. I 100% wasn't & it's my belief many others weren't also. That said, I've found out since that some of my competitors were. Horrible cheats & liars at the time.

  • You can bicker all you want about the nineties. Basically, they were all doped. Same for everyone. I don't care, man. I cried when Rolf crashed out of Le Tour while wearing the yellow jersey. He was my hero when I was a kid, and he still is. Fantastic anticipation and mentality. Skilled, focused, careless about the conditions, a fair climber on his good days. Denmarks most winning rider of all time. Just an amazing rider!
