  • I always appreciate how positive and respectful Julianne Moore is about her time on soaps. Soaps at their best were a special artform that few others can rival, due to the longevity and history of the characters and stories. I'm glad she helps keep them alive through treating them with more kindness than most of the people who ran them ever did.

  • Really like Magnolia...regardless of how over the top it is. She nailed that part. Also think Hannibal was severely underrated. Her performance truly felt like a natural progression for the Clarice character. Wouldn't really compare her Clarice to Jodi Foster's, as it's hard to touch such an iconic role...but she was practically the perfect replacement in my view. Stellar career in all. One of the best ever.

I love this interview with her slight shade towards the method actors "we are in character, but you don't carry it with you. You're able to take it off and enjoy each other's company." • I can't believe you didn't give her space to talk about her performance in Short Cuts, which I think is where many people first started taking her seriously as a tour-de-force actress. When she has her argument scene while holding a paint brush and her bottom half clearly exposed for the viewer to see...there was so much boldness and power in that scene that I couldn't wait to see what else she could do. It feels like a travesty that you couldn't make space for that film on the timeline (or for Safe, either, though I guess there are only so many Todd Haynes performances you could include) yet you could for not one, but TWO Hunger Games films.
