I was super shocked to hear these news but I’m trying to stay positive about it so I thought of making a video to spread the hope! Haha hope you enjoy it!

I frankly knew this was going to happen. Like from the moment I saw her in season 1 I was like "it's cool that they got such a big actor, but this is going to be a problem when Sarah is supposed to have a much more prominent role later in the series." I'm not happy I called it right.
It does make a lot of sense but at the same time I thought that they would still make it work now that the show has gotten so big. But yeah, as Alice said there’s unavoidable TV challenges.
I think this might be why they cast as big a name actress as Hayley Atwell to play Aunt Diane.

I kinda expected this with the actors strike in 2023, messing up schedules and stuff, but to be honest Alice is amazing so im sure she's made something amazing that will work!!!

The Heartstopper fans I know who were all rocked by this news (including myself) went through some mourning, followed by some brainstorming. Spoilers*** They came up with the idea that Nick's aunt, played by Hayley Atwell, might have that scene on the beach with Nick. They think that she will be introduced as an extended family member that Nick has been close with in the past. Perhaps she is Sarah's sister, who moved to be nearby as Sarah was going through the divorce and established a strong relationship with Nick as she helped Sarah pick up the pieces after Stephane's departure. Someone proposed that she might even be employed as a mental health professional herself and is able to give this advice with the kind of authority mixed with empathy that will allow Nick to really internalize it. If that's true, I think it could be really well done, but they will truly have to sell that bond between Nick and the aunt we've never met before. I don't doubt that Kit can sell any interpersonal dynamic that Alice needs him to. That actor is already a master of the craft!

I think the actors strike in 2023 had a big role in her schedule. I am sad Olivia did not make it for season 3, but I trust Alice 100% ❤️🩹🍂🌈
