In today's video, a mod for SimRacing enthusiasts playing Assetto Corsa. I know that what I'm sharing today is an unnecessary feature, but I, like many others, always missed it in AC.
On this occasion, I also want to thank the people without whom I would never have started working on this mod:

I'm very pleased with what I've achieved, especially I'm not a programmer, not a true modder in Assetto Corsa, and my knowledge about Lua scripts is super poor 😅.
I must admit that this video was supposed to be a short review of how my button box works, but I really wanted to record the starting procedure of my favorite Porsche. Unfortunately, no sim title replicates this as seen in Laurent’s video, especially the sound triggered upon ignition. This led to the idea of replicating it in Assetto Corsa, a game that doesn't natively support this feature.
The most important things that have been implemented:
⁃ ignition
⁃ starter
⁃ sounds: ignition, starter, engine on, engine off
⁃ sound volume adjustments
You can use your own sound files; just remember to replace the defaults with the correct file names.

Wow wow wow !!! What a mod, very realistic. AC was missing this and you did it, great job man !! I wonder if it is possible you can do the "Anti-Lag" mod, like the car's running on idle, and then with a press of a button (Anti-Lag) car goes up to 1.5K rpm or 2K rpm.
Thanks 😊 It should be possible. You can try to understand logic in script.lua and make your own tweak. Maybe if you add next „IF” with third extraA/B/C button and set rpm to specific value you create anti lag feature 😀

Each data folder is created when someone unpack data.acd. Then you get data1, data2. If you don’t change it in CM that you use data folder if exist instead of data.acd you can delete all data folders and unpack data.acd, and follow rest of guide from this video.
do i have to do this manuell to every Car? I have over 10000 moded cars for Prvyy, NoHesi, WDTS Drifting, Formiula Drift Packs, Custom Cars and more.... Also i know that some Servers in online dosent allow Cars that have been modified in the Car.ini after instlling them. I wonder if it still works in online
This is mod for a car, so all cars modified by you could not work online till they not use modified version. And yes if you want it you need to modify each car. To make it work as global parameter it should be implemented in csp probably.
But modification which I made in car.ini is almost the most common thing in all modded cars because it allows to use extended physics.. 😅
This is awesome and is working well. Only issue is the ignition sounds are coming from the main sound card and not the sound card specified in AC/CM preferences. Any ideas on this one? Thanks
Mp3 sounds are playing probably from windows player, maybe try tweak with this and your sound card.

Thanks friend for sharing this app which I have been waiting for a long time. I built myself a buttonbox with injection and start engine buttons, which work perfectly on ACC, and now I can also use it on AC. However, I have a need: the fantastic 1995 Aston Martin DBR9 GT1, recently published by RSS, has, in the engine sound, integrated the sound of the starter motor. To avoid a duplicate of sounds, I applied your app to this car without loading the "startON.mp3" sound file, but before hearing the noise of the mod's native starter motor, you need to hold down the start button for about 2 seconds: is it possible to somehow shorten this pressure time? Thank you in advance and congratulations for the splendid work.
I guess you need to change this values in script.lua in data.acd folder but all changes inside data.acd could make this car unable to online racing till someone put your modified version on the server. I had version with something like 2 sec press delay to activate the engine but than I shortened it a bit and even more for turn off function. All logic for car behavior should be inside the script.lua. Sound.lua has similar logic but only to play/stop each sound 😀

Think for you sharing this wonderful app.I quickly applying it to one of my cars, but when i start the engine the rpm will quickly rise to redline.Is there any way to fix it?
It’s weird but you can try to adjust data.gas value in script.lua

Alright, so Im running into some issues. What do I do when there is already a [HEADER] at the top of the car.ini file? Do I delete it and replace it or do just copy and paste the new header at the top of the code without deleting the old one? I believe im doing something wrong there and thus, the game crashed when I load up a race.
If you have it you don’t need replace it. You have to enable extended physic in CM and if it not work try with different car. It’s also good to make backup of the car before tweaking 🙃

It should work with all the cars but someone write to me that 1 from 4 cars tested won’t move forward. If you use CSP which support extra buttons with extraD and extraE it should work. Also extended physics should be activated in CSP window.

I think it's possible. I'm kinda visualizing a pseudocode for that to work. I'm just not familiar with the AC library yet but it might look something like: if car.rpm < (car.idlerpm-500) then playsound:('kill.mp3')

I can but I won’t. I will focus on my other projects. Start engine mod will get next update with auto engine off when RPM drops down below desired value and N gear requirement - maybe I will add also anti lag feature (but still working on it)
I'm sorry if I'm bothering you with a question but I discovered a strange thing: I applied your App to the ALFA ROME 155 2.5 V6Ti 1993 original Kunos, but for a strange reason the engine sound at idle does not go off, even though the engine is clearly off at zero rpm and pressing on the accelerator nothing happens. This only happens on this car. Can you suggest a solution?
If you follow all instructions steps and it’s not working when works with other cars - I have no idea. AC is too big content to know what exactly happen on each car. Check if you saved car.ini with extra lines and check if you enabled enhanced physics in game. If you find solution please share it with community 🙂
@@MR.EVERLOST in my opinion it definitely depends on the mod because it only happens with this car, the problem is probably due to the configuration of the bank file, but I don't know the solution.

@@MR.EVERLOST i tried it with a car that had no extensions folder or custom physics, just dropped the sound files in a folder i created with the name and created an ext_config.ini file where i added the given lines and it works!

Hallo! In most cars there is no extension folder! I do not know why?
You have to create it manually, and put there ext_config.ini and rest of the files dedicated to this folder. I should share latest version of this mod last week but I was too busy. I will share it soon. In latest version I have drag and drop solution for this problem.

So you probably make something wrong 😬 or your car has something which not allow to use it, maybe other script.
Do I need the latest version of CM or any other version will do?

@@9h0stRider don’t remember how to set it up but there is also option somewhere in CM than allow you to play based on unpacked data, so there is no required pack everything back to data.acd

@maximodiazrivera5667 I was wondering bro cause it's on the menu. Like everyone you have to bind the buttons. If you on console you setup a keyboard and the have already programmed buttons that can't be change. Check online what they are . PC obviously you set to your liking.
@@alphaohenriquez This mod is for PC, and it’s not about liking but the ability to use only the extra buttons A/B/C etc from CSP path 🤷🏻♂️

Please, How do i recreate the folder?
Rename my folder „copy to extension folder” to „extension” and copy to the car directory. Then open extension folder and rename file „copy to ext config” to „ext_config.ini”

I can’t because I had this problem and shared version of this mod works without this issue. It is surprising that you have this problem. From the script side it was fixed. Maybe problem is somewhere with the car 🤷🏻♂️ You can remove Ignition sound or if it won’t help, remove them from the sound.lua

@@MR.EVERLOST is the car not supposed to drive before you even turn on ignition and starter? Cuz mine does. and even if ignition is off, it still drive. thats why I can hear car soundbank when game loaded.

I never had situation like this. You can try recreate all folders and files but make sure that all names and extensions are correct.
I just created one and dumped the files and kind of work? btw, is there a way you could make the engine stop if you full stop the car? Like a real car i mean?
