After a tough week at the warehouse job (esp today Friday)....a cold adult beverages & watching a drummer gush over her kit in the empty Forum... it's awesome
Me and my girlfriend saw her on Apple Music playing in New York with Harry styles. My girlfriend was so fascinated by her that we started lurking for a way to see her live. Last Tuesday we could finally visit a concert (Harry styles in Düsseldorf, Germany) with Sarah jones playing. Great evening, great music.
That groove at 2:30 sounds so good. Super dry and punchy, sounds like a sampled drum groove from the 70's. Bravo

dude, have you seen the vintage drum market lately? Vintage kits are the kits that are going for insane prices like 10,000 dollars now lol.
@@eldiablo3794 you got a point there, vintage can be real expensive especially Ludwig! But I would rather spend the money on cool vintage drums than brand new, ( using new hardware)
I have a pre Tama vintage kit 1970 Royalstar with re-rings. Sounds good. But with a Pearl Jupiter snare 😀
I met Sarah years ago when she was just starting out. Glad she's doing so well 👍. Plus, I had the exact same kit but purple sparkle!
Sarah is an awesome drummer, with amazing feel and love Harry styles one of my favourite artists. Didn’t know about those Meinl Foundries I want them, but about a 1000 for one cymbal.

Sarah is top notch. I saw her with Bat for Lashes years ago and she rocked hard!! She worked hard behind the kit playing samples, pads and a timpani.
Ah no way! I remember seeing BFL in Bristol around 2008/9 and being particularly impressed by the badass drummer during Glass, never realised it was her.

So sweet! You're such a fine player. I appreciate that you use what you like and not what everybody thinks a player at your level should be using (like all fancy and new stuff). I too prefer the DW 5000 bass drum pedal, the 9000 is almost "too" smooth. And the DW ultralight hardware is great too...except for the snare and hi hat stands. I also need those stands to be a little more meaty so I went with the Yamaha Crosstown hi hat and snare stands....more sturdy that the DW ultralights but still lightweight. Congratulations to you and all your success!
I admire female drummers like Sarah. I know how darned difficult drums are to play - play well - for us men, the wrist strength it requires and the stamina. 'As It Was' is a good example of wrist technique and stamina, so good for you Sarah. *EDIT* I just found out Sarah didn't play the drums on the studio version. It was Mitch Rowland. But she plays them live in the same style, so my original pint remains!

@@internex4139 30 yrs playing, I came up with more intricate grooves 1 yr in. Not knocking her, she's touring and playing big gigs which I never have but let's not act like she's Portnoy just cause she's a girl that's all.

I was using Manhattan 7a sticks, I kept breaking them on an eKit. The only other sticks I could find close to that size were Regal Tip Jazz, but they are no longer available.

Man, that piccolo snare sounds amazing. I actually like the sound of it better and would rather use that as her main snare. Her ghosts notes sound so crisp and clear on it. Its cool to see how far electronic drum technology has come along and evolved over the decades. Those Simmons drum triggers/pads look like they came straight out of the 80s. They are so big and look more like a drum practice pad lol. I cant imagine how big a complete electronic Simmons electronic kit from the 80s looks like if the triggers are that big. Now Simmons drum triggers/pads are so small and compact. I like that she incorporates electronics along with acoustic drums. I always dug drummers like that, like Neil Peart and Alex Van Halen. You can literally see the evolution of electronic drums over the decades by looking at Neil Peart's kits from the 80s-90s lol.
