I'm not a Liverpool fan but I couldnt think of a better place for Sven to receive an respectful ovation. As ever, much admiration to the fanbase.
Especially as he has a terminal illness, and the only club he has supported all of his life, and really wanted to manage is Liverpool. A kind of fitting tribute to him.

I'm a Man Utd fan and this was a beautiful gesture from Liverpool to Sven, our clubs are rivals but there's moments in football when rivalry gets pushed to the sides for the common good and this is one of them. When the football gods come to take Sven from this planet, he can proudly look back and remember that in his life, he got to manage his boyhood team and shag Ulrika Jonsson. A true football gentleman

As a Coventry fan, the first match my Dad took me to was Coventry v Liverpool in about 1970. My Dad was a Chelsea fan, but I remember standing on the Sky blue terrace at the old Highfield road stadium with Dad and Dad pointing to the Liverpool fans and saying they were the best fans in the land. Big ups to the Liverpool faithful. We shall do our best to shove it up Man U at the semi-final.
Been to Highfield Road a few times in the 70's always impressed by the passionate support given to the Sky Blues, especially from the West Stand.
I think, at one time in the past, Coventry City were one of our bogie teams. Never seemed to have got good results against you.
