  • You went from nearly junking the jeep when she kept breaking down to completely rebuilding her. Man what a ton of work! You must have a lot of sentimental value invested in Big Bird because it is literally cheaper to get another TJ and start over.(at least in the US it is). I've watched your journey of changing a million radiators, rust repairs, transfer case swap, engine, tons of other shit. Now this. Lots of work. Well done.

    • Thought of buying another one but out here they’re all rust buckets. I couldn’t find a decent one for less that 15k and that point I’m just gonna build the gladiator. But I gave this TJ one last shot at life…. Again… lol

  • If you're going to use a compression fitting on the brake line please make sure you get a steel one and not brass. There's a reason the brass ones aren't dot approved. It's looking good. I got rid of my xj, traded it for a kfx 400, but that also got me to start on my zj build. I got a $5k iron rock off road rock link pro lift for it so she should be fun. If you ever want to take a road trip to go wheeling come down to Ohio and we'll show you some trails lol

  • The build is coming along nicely man! the only thing I would suggest is to take out that rear seat and put the spare inside, but thats personal choice

    @tupaclopez5588@tupaclopez5588Ай бұрын
    • I’ve actually got something really cool for the rear end I’m gonna do and it is going to involve removing the rear seat. Not sure if I’ll have room for the tire, though way too many many tools and other things.

  • What about using like a BED LINER GUARD in place of your ROCK GUARD. WOULDhelp to keep the rust down a bit as well

    @RedRabbit4230@RedRabbit4230Ай бұрын
    • Basically the same product they just call it rock guard because it’s made for the side of your vehicle rather than the bed but I’ve been using it for years and it holds up really really well against rust and everything else that I can throw at it

      @SmokinMonkeyOG@SmokinMonkeyOGАй бұрын
  • I’d replace that entire brake line from the master cylinder to the caliper. Splicing in a brake line is a quick fix for emergencies, but not a long term solution.

  • I wonder if you somehow raised the grill / Radiator support maybe an inch if that would have saved you from adding the weather stripping????

    @RedRabbit4230@RedRabbit4230Ай бұрын
    • All the body mounts are at the same level now, so I wouldn’t want to raise the front higher than the rest of the body now that we have everything squared away

  • It's cool to see this much progress! Also, why not ditch the TJ's back seat now that you have the gladiator? I pulled the rear seat out of my Jeep and got a cargo net, it holds all of my tools in place on the trail and now I have room to bring a cooler and floor jack too.

    @keon8625@keon8625Ай бұрын
    • I actually have a really cool solution for the rear end coming soon. I just wanna do the floors first and then I’m gonna rip out all the carpets and the seat

    @johnjamrowski7505@johnjamrowski7505Ай бұрын
    • Oh man I stopped counting at 33K and that was before I did the engine and all the other repairs so I’d say probably closer to 40

    • @jonc2914 I hear that but this is all trail repairs and stuff I’ve broken over the past 4 years. Couple hundred here couple hundred there. If I had a budget that big to start I could’ve build an unstoppable rig but I wasn’t sitting around with 40k thinking how can throw this money down the drain lol 😂 it’s always something here and something there. I made a list of every expense for a long time till I couldn’t look at it anymore

  • when i did my flat fenders, it took me like 2 months.... i would hold the grinder on the fenders... wait ......... question myself. wait........do i really want to cut my girl? wait....... ( also beer in every wait ) ..... finally ( a beer too much ) i cut. glad i had that beer!!! 2 months later , but it happened. however, i've said it before. but if you put this much money in that tj. for about $200 you could put a spartan in that front . it'll do wonders for you.
