waldschratwicht indeed, Michael’s Todd hand can’t be straighten. He can’t do that even when is not in a match. He had numerous surgeries ( elbouw) Therefore he is able to hold in that position very very long time. Only Denys Ciplenkov had the brute power to kind of “obligate” him to turn all his body. Have a check Denis Cyplenkov vs Todd. Aside of this indeed, isnt nice to see Todd fighting in this style but he can only fight this way

20:00 when your arm is straightened out and your shoulder is that far under the table in a defensive position, Devon has to not only fight Todd's arm strength, but also his elbow joint. The only way to win is to break his arm, and monsters have strong arms. A competent ref/rule set would keep one's humerus bone level in a defensive position, not letting shoulders be below the table.

I’m still fairly new to this sport, and trying to watch as much as I can during my free time. I’m just seeing Michael Todd for the first time here. Is his tech technique of basically dropping under the table legal? I mean, it seems to be. based on this video, at least allowed in this competition, but is it universally allowed? It almost doesn’t seem like arm wrestling to me, but like I said I am an infant regarding my exposure to arm wrestling.

I dont know if michael todd used the move legaly or not. I dont think the move itself should be banned because there are 'normal' ways to use it that don't generate as much controversy. But thing is: Devon could have used techniques to beat michael like pulling his arm back (dragging), trying to supinate him, etc and he didn't do.

The WAL was a cool promotion, but they really fucked up with those elbow pads. I respect Michael's armwrestling ability, but those pads were the reason he did so well in the WAL. That match on proper 7x7 pads would have been a different story, along with Michael's other matches. Regardless, that was a great match, and respect for both athletes for a great performance

Todd reminds me of this kid in elementary school who would throw his whole body on my right hand and sit on the floor hoping to bend my arm. Poor kid never won a match. Michael Todd on the other hand has a fully extended straightened arm and his shoulder nine times out of 10 is below the table which is against the rules and the point of the elbow is not on the pad. There's a right way to use the kings move and then there's the cheating way

And its funny... if you look in the comments section you can see that even most of his haters know that his arm can no longer straighten due to bone lock. How did you miss that? The fact is, nearly all of you claimed to hate the kings move period during Michael vs Devon. But now that you realize Devon uses the kings move, your willing to say what “techniques” are acceptable when using the kings move. Rule # 10 reads: Competitors cannot drop the competing shoulder below the level of the elbow pad when in a negative or losing position. i dont have an issue with Michael being declared the winner here, but what i do have a problem with his the inconsistency of the calls in a major matches in WAL. When he faced Jerry Cadorette, Michael got called for dropping his shoulder below his elbow multiple times in a losing position, and thus lost the match to Jerry, but Bart didn't call him on it once in this match, even though it happened MULTIPLE times. The rule book says you can't drop your shoulder below your elbow in a losing position, and Bart gave absolutely no warnings to Michael in this mtahc, completely inconsistent with the other matchup.... there needs to be consistency

Devin pinned him @ 19:01 and 19:08, which should've been the match. Todd's shoulder under the pad @ 19:39, 19:52, 20:02, 20:11, 20:13, 20:47, 20:56. Todd's elbow is literally sitting on the table @ 20:05. Devon's wife calls out that Todd is "below the table" @ 20:57 and the ref says "he's allowed to be", which he isn't. WAL Rules state clearly that the competing shoulder cannot drop below the pad if an opponent is in a "neutral or losing position," which the Kings move is by definition, so that's total bullshit. This is gross. WAL, you need to enforce the rules on Michael Todd. Look at how many of your fans hate this shit. The guy is dropping his shoulder below the pad constantly, which is against the rules. The rules also state the "tip of the elbow", and he's clearly breaking that rule too. Michael Todd fouled out of this match about twenty times, and the ref just ignored it totally. This match should've been Devon's by a mile if even 25% of those faults on Todd were called. Totally, totally gross. And the ref is so obviously biased against Devon the whole way. You're never going to be earn mainstream status or popularity if you don't sort this shit out. Enforce the rule on shoulder drop and find a way to actually call elbow fouls or you're just diminishing the value of your own product.

I’m still fairly new to this sport, and trying to watch as much as I can during my free time. I’m just seeing Michael Todd for the first time here. Is his tech technique of basically dropping under the table legal? I mean, it seems to be. based on this video, at least allowed in this competition, but is it universally allowed? It almost doesn’t seem like arm wrestling to me, but like I said I am an infant regarding my exposure to arm wrestling.
It’s called the kings move and it’s legal but it’s kinda bullshit depending on who you ask. As long as your elbow doesn’t leave the table it’s technically legal.
He won a bit with it a few years ago, then Devon started doing it too for a while, but it's mostly gone away now, I think engin's rules for the current leagues don't allow it the way it was done here

The WAL was a cool promotion, but they really fucked up with those elbow pads. I respect Michael's armwrestling ability, but those pads were the reason he did so well in the WAL. That match on proper 7x7 pads would have been a different story, along with Michael's other matches. Regardless, that was a great match, and respect for both athletes for a great performance

i dont have an issue with Michael being declared the winner here, but what i do have a problem with his the inconsistency of the calls in a major matches in WAL. When he faced Jerry Cadorette, Michael got called for dropping his shoulder below his elbow multiple times in a losing position, and thus lost the match to Jerry, but Bart didn't call him on it once in this match, even though it happened MULTIPLE times. The rule book says you can't drop your shoulder below your elbow in a losing position, and Bart gave absolutely no warnings to Michael in this mtahc, completely inconsistent with the other matchup.... there needs to be consistency

This referee should not be used anymore, totally clueless, probably don't know the rules? If this is allowed only big dudes like Jerry can win. Only they have enough pressing power to end the match. Against them opponent have to give up, otherwise the arm is gone, it can't take huge press in that position.

Devin pinned him @ 19:01 and 19:08, which should've been the match. Todd's shoulder under the pad @ 19:39, 19:52, 20:02, 20:11, 20:13, 20:47, 20:56. Todd's elbow is literally sitting on the table @ 20:05. Devon's wife calls out that Todd is "below the table" @ 20:57 and the ref says "he's allowed to be", which he isn't. WAL Rules state clearly that the competing shoulder cannot drop below the pad if an opponent is in a "neutral or losing position," which the Kings move is by definition, so that's total bullshit. This is gross. WAL, you need to enforce the rules on Michael Todd. Look at how many of your fans hate this shit. The guy is dropping his shoulder below the pad constantly, which is against the rules. The rules also state the "tip of the elbow", and he's clearly breaking that rule too. Michael Todd fouled out of this match about twenty times, and the ref just ignored it totally. This match should've been Devon's by a mile if even 25% of those faults on Todd were called. Totally, totally gross. And the ref is so obviously biased against Devon the whole way. You're never going to be earn mainstream status or popularity if you don't sort this shit out. Enforce the rule on shoulder drop and find a way to actually call elbow fouls or you're just diminishing the value of your own product.
