ELEPHANT: a daily visitor to my family

2017 ж. 4 Мау.

Lekshmi 12 year old female elephant and her friend 25 years old male elephant Kannan are frequent visitors to my family for the last two years. Me and my family members and my dog Ceser 6 years, eagerly wait for there visits. My wife and my mother keep food for Kannan and Lekshmi. With out that they never pass my gate. This video is about such a visit to my house.

    • My husband is from Keralam. I have to say that in all my 35 years, I've never met another man like him. All the men in his family are wonderful too. People hear stories of how badly women are treated in India... I'm not saying women don't get abused in Kerala (that stuff happens everywhere) but it's not acceptable and would lead to an ass whooping. I'm slowly trying to learn Malayalam but after 4 years I only know basic words. Growing up in Louisiana, USA, I had to learn French and Spanish. My mom's family is from Germany, so I grew up speaking all these languages. I even learned enough Japanese to teach English in Japan. I say all of that because languages learning hasn't been too hard for me. But Malayalam is a beast 😂 I'm having an easier time learning Hindi.

  • In late 1950s, we lived in Mysuru, just a mile away from the palace. On Fridays, my mother would offer special pooja to goddess Lakshmi. Around 8 am, a palace elephant would appear at the door, ridden by a mahout. My brother and I would offer a coconut and some bananas. It would deftly crush the coconut under its feet and swallow the kernel and the fruit. A simple curved salute with its trunk and it would be on its way to collect goodies from other houses. Lovely animals.

    • Neetesh A I'm just sharing the gospel. First of all, the gospel begins with God. God created us in his image, for his glory and to have a loving relationship with Him. God loves us, he gives us free will to follow him, or to not follow him. All of us have sinned against God, we have all like sheep, gone our own way. We have chose something else meaningful to us, in our life to replace God. God is holy, he must punish sin otherwise he's not a holy God. It's no different than a judge, sentencing someone to prison. Even if the person being judged, would bring up all the good deeds he has done. It still doesn't pay for his crimes. So if God were to judge us, we would all be guilty. But God is rich in mercy, he sent his only begotten Son Jesus. To die on the cross for our sins, Jesus took the punishment you and I deserve. All you have to do, to receive salvation is by repenting of your sins. And believe in the gospel, that Jesus died on the cross for you. And God rose Him on the third day, I encourage you to read the gospel of Matthew God bless you!

But I haven’t had the honor of an elephant showing up. I got to go to Thailand once, saw an elephant sanctuary, but more memorable was the everyday interaction between working people and working elephants. At night the elephants wore reflective gear to maneuver the car traffic more safely. Wow! Love from Oregon

Many in the Indian, Pakistani + other ME cultures that have elephants STILL chain their legs and use them as beasts of burden, relegate them to subservient roles. This STILL goes on today! UNACCEPTABLE!! These animals are highly intelligent. They deserve RESPECT and good treatment W/O CHAINS.
