  • Actually i can tell different. Astro is more sensitive and more louder than blue ice pop. Blue ice pop is more quiet and sound more natural voice if you know what i mean. So Ice pop is more better quality sound. This is my option.

  • Thanks for this! I will stick to the stock Astro mic. I immediately thought microphone 1 sounded better. Watched again and still believe it sounds better.

  • it would have been nice if you matched the volume levels of the 2 mics so we could really tell the difference in quality, having to adjust the volume adds difficulty towards objective listening

  • I heard mic 1 and thought it was a lot clearer, I have the astro headset and listned through that, I was shocked as I was just about to buy the Blue mic for my headset.

  • I could tell there were less plosives on the blue icepop mic in this video. I'm sure that's because of the built in pop filter on it. However, last year I had bought some little foam mic covers for the ASTRO A40 standard mic and did the exact same thing. And it sounds awesome. They cost me less than $10 on Amazon, I've only lost one so far and I have 9 left.

  • The blue mic does sound better imo but thats probably because of the built in pop filter, you can just save a lot of money by buying a foam cap for the original mic to act as a pop filter.

  • For sure could tell with the plosives the ice pop is better but aside from that specific thing there is extremely little difference in the sound profiles.

  • I could tell the Noise Floor was Higher on the Blue Icepop and the audio was slightly muddy. Compared to the OG Astro A40.

  • Yeah honestly the difference is not much. Sound wise the Astro sounds better. I have the a40. I bought the blue ice pop simply for how it’s more flexible build but sound wise I don’t think it’s much better

  • Wow, I did not expect this ... the stock Astro mic definitely has more robust sound and clarity overall. The Blue Icepop unfortunately has this dull flatness to the voice reproduction. A bit disappointed since I've been running it for awhile. Back to the stock mic!

    • @@sebastianrosenbach7873 To each his own; no need to personally attack me. We're having a discussion here. After watching this video, I actually performed my own test and recorded an identical voice sample on both mics. Then I played those back on a blind test to several people I game with. 90% of them actually preferred the stock mic. I'm not saying it's a bad mic, I'm just saying that there's no compelling difference in the quality of the sound reproduction. If there was, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

  • I could tell by the pop filter, quality wise was pretty equal. Now I’m no way are they the same. I could tell they were different mics just wouldn’t call one better. If you have the money get the blue and only if you’re using that mic while you’re also on twitch or KZhead or whatever. If it’s just for chat then save your money lol

  • Wait people actually had trouble telling them apart, the ice pop has it so your voice is somewhat clear and not so "loud" and didn't seem to cut you off prematurely as much. Like yes there is clipping at the start and end of both but mic one had it significantly worse

  • unfortunately my device does not work. I connect icepop to my G PRO headset and there is no option on the G HUB to activate blue voice. I already performed all the procedures I saw on the internet but nothing appears on the G HUB, even logitech sent me a new icepop but it still doesn't work.

  • The $15 original astro mic that comes with the A40’s sounds better then that $50 mic PERIOD. Case closed. Astro is selling a mic for $50 that sounds worse then the $15 mic. By worse i mean loudness. The blues sound slightly lower volume then the $15 mic. But why would you pay $50 to get lower volume of your voice? Simply idiotic stupidity.
