Police dashcam video shows California cops on a hot pursuit of a domestic abuse suspect. The suspect, Juan Valdez, pulled over and bolted from the vehicle. The 40-year-old suspect tries to force his way into a car. However, the quick-thinking motorist sped off with Valdez hanging on. When the vehicle came to a stop, the suspect did not give up. He ran to the other side of the car and tried again to climb in. Police warned him to surrender or they would shoot him. When he didn’t listen, they opened fire.
About time a carjacking victim DOESN'T open the damn door
Usually the door is unlocked
It could also have to do with people driving with their doors unlocked, making it easier for someone from the outside to open it.

That's why you should always lock your doors, there's crazy criminals out there like him trying to carjack you.
Idk about others, but when I put my car in park, the doors automatically unlock. My door probably would've opened. Seems they were stopped due to the chase so I would've put the car in park.
@@DayquanDamasmine too which is why I instinctually check and lock my doors when I get into or leave my car. If I'm parking with no intent to leave, I lock the doors again.

Yeah unfortunately if they had done that with his finger in the way (provided the regulator can support his weight while going up, doubtful) the auto pinch would of tripped and the window would roll either all the way down or half way down and most of the time you can't stop it from going down once the auto pinch engages.

The driver of the blue car did amazing handling that situation. That's why I have my car's doors automatically lock when the car starts moving. You never know if someone will try to get into your car, and it's happened to me before. It's scary.

@@bandido7994 Because car windows have a function that if something prevents the window from rolling up, it rolls down to prevent the object being stuck there, like a finger.

@Alastair_Adana Looks like the body line of the Honda Accord with light reflections. It was still possible it was hit, but either way, the person is safe which is the best outcome.
That is the best possible outcome, though it sucks when the damage is horrible and the cops use QI to get out of paying for their actions, like that doofus officer who rear ended a family a couple years ago. @@kdymyt

Why do Americans drive with their doors unlocked? I always lock the doors and if my car doesn't come with door locks, I add them aftermarket.
