Hello guys here I have the steam deck win 4 and win max 2 and I will talk about all the pros and cons of these devices so I can hopefully help you pick what device will be best for you.

Why was this so entertaining for me 😂 Can you show WIN4 playing COD? A POV pls not a screen recording. Trying to find out if the layout of the buttons are going to be cramped. Although I have small hands (which is also why I'm eyeing the WIN4), I'm clumsy enough to accidentally press other buttons. Would also specifically want to see how fonts and or subtitles would show in game (and if i can still read it) or just slap in shows/movies with subtitles. If you're outside, how does the screen fair against the light (or in the shade)? Would you still be able to read the subtitles? Hehe In what scenario have you used the back paddles? Btw i like your win4 grips!

win max 2 with an oculink eGPU is OP. I like the Win Max 2 but as you mentioned, it's too big to be a handheld and is more like a laptop but the screen makes a huge difference especially for AAA titles and with an egpu, games look gorgeous on that 10 inch screen. I used to own a Steam Deck but sold it for the WM2 because using a PC without a keyboard is a frustrating experience and plus I didn't like the fact that the Steam Deck only had one usb-c port for connectivity...I had to use a stupid dongle with it. Also, the Steam Deck doesn't support eGPU's so playing it on an external monitor looked like crap. The Win4 tempted me but I'm glad I waited because the refresh will have the better chip and an oculink port. But the device I'm looking forward to the most is the Win Mini. To me, the Win Max 2 design is perfect...I just wished it was a handheld, well I got my wish with the Win Mini which is basically a smaller version of the Win Max 2. I'm going to wait until reviews come out before I decide....it's either the Win4 refresh or Win Mini for me

Yeah the deadzone on the win 4 kinda sucks on mine too.. 😑 How big of a difference does that joystick handle thing make on your win4? Does it restrict reaching the keyboard when it's on?

Interesting feedback - preordered Win Max 2 7840U version - should now have just enough power to drive 1200P in games (or crush the FPS at 800P and scale well). Win Max 2 may be more comfortable to play when reclined in bed as you can prop it up on your chest to hold the weight. I guess we will see. If I travel, I will either game reclined or I will bring a trackball to play some strategy games. I've had gaming laptops in the past and hate the heat and noise and the fact they have to be tethered to the wall with power to work. So calling the GPD WIN MAX "just a laptop" seems a bit unfair considering its design.

I just ordered one as well and totally agree, plan to play it the same way as you. As I'm getting older I enjoy the idea of using a larger screen that can also just be closed and fit in my purse without fiddling with a case. When I use regular handhelds laying back I always have to prop them up with a pillow or something. Very excited about potentially just having the perfect do everything device.

I have the Steam Deck, Win Max 2 and purchased the ROG ALLY, Don't do it. The Ally isn't worth it the best thing about it I can say is the Sound, It blew my Mind. But the small upgrade in graphics over the max 2 didn't make me jump out of my chair. I hated the 2230 nvme in the steam deck and it's also in the ALLY. Plus the Ally has known Micro-sd card issues. I personally wish I would have waited for the GPD Win Mini, they have pictures and specs of it on Reddit, it's nice, the only bad thing About it is I hear it's bigger than the GPDWin2 and that was borderline pocketable ohh and it uses 2230 nvme as well

Great video! I wish you would have went more into detail as to why you're against windows on the steamdeck. Because for me, windows works perfectly fine. Setting up the dualboot took no more than 30 minutes and it's a great alternative to play games incompatible with SteamOS. Of course I got the steamdeck mainly for SteamOS due to it's ease of use as an operating system, but being able to switch real quick over to windows to pop some heads in MW2 has been great. And I haven't had any problems either. There are even scripts that you can just download and run that auto-adds everything you'll need to have a great windows experience. It takes almost no effort to set everything up. I feel as long as when you dualboot you understand that SteamOS is still your main operating system; and that windows is just to get by that pesky anticheat for a few games; You should be solid and have a near-perfect experience with your steamdeck.

I just dont like the experience that i had with windows on steam deck all those third party apps like msi afterburner or the one that changes control to mouse output will be running on the background and unfortunately it eats the little ram that the steam deck has. dual booting is good but the issue i have with the if you use a micro sd card to run cod its SOOO slow not worth it for me in my opinion

@@jonnyheey Gotcha, I completely agree. Unless you debloat windows yourself or use a script to do so, a whole bunch of apps will always be running in the background. And MW2 on an sd card is super trash lol, I've always wondered why that's the case

I have the GPD win max now… been eyeing the steam deck; but really liking the win max 2…. Till I saw the GPD win 4.. Would you go with the GPD win 4 over the GPD mini…? For portability; and a good dockable handheld pc; that’s still gonna rival the GPD win 4…?

Haha! Hey I've got the steam Deck, GPD Win4, Win3 and a 1NetBook OneGx1 Pro. I'm going to sell the 1NetBook OneGx1 Pro and the GPD Win3 though. I like Steam Deck is cause all the games and controls work just straight out the box right after download.

win max 2 with an oculink eGPU is OP.
