@@Khamomil It gets steamed in a tube and comes out floppy and gets wrapped around a big drum.

В последние время с увлечением смотрела как строят вьетнамцы дома из природных средств с минимум инструментов. Была восхищена! А кыргызы оказались мастера на все руки. При этом не на показ для лайков, а обычный быт сохранившихся национальных умений. Все делается обыденно и просто, хотя это все же титанический труд. Спасибо за труд. Это талант рукоделия! Все художники, мастера и красавицы! 😍🤩💕

It's no wonder the Central Asian peoples were renowned as being such amazing archers with extremely high quality bows. These yurts are essentially a bunch of bowstaves lashed together! Amazing

I'm watching all your docus on nomadic architecture and am fascinated by the beauty of the forms which happens to be the most effective for the function. When they need felt they start by shearing the sheep! Isn't it quite amazing? And their home-made machine for felting is lo-tech but it does the job. An area of special interest is the making of shyrdaks, those rugs made of felt cut-outs that make negative and positive forms. I always wondered how they did it and today, at last, I saw the whole process. Thank you for this precious film.

I watched spellbound, and know I will watch it again. Fascinating to see where electrically-powered tools are used and where they're not, a mix that probably depends on many factors. @@NomadArchitecture Unfortunately no. There are only some haircloth tents of the semi-nomadic "Yörük" people (original Turks who migrated from Central Asia to Anatolia and kept their lifestyle to a certain degree) in various geographical pockets in the mountains of the Mediterranean, Aegean and Central Anatolian regions of Turkey. These tents are usually made of black hair goats. The Yörüks winter in plains and lowlands and then migrate to higher elevations by mid-May. Since they are fond of independence and are rebellious, the Ottomans had forcibly settled a large majority of Yörüks. The last remaining Yörüks are mostly based in Mersin, Antalya, and Karaman provinces.

Interesting that the press to straighten the poles is also used as shaving horse. A slot, a pole and a lever that is held by pressure with your hip, simplicity at its best.

Absolutely amazing! The wool pickers need a fleece table though! We have them in New Zealand searing sheds, they're waist high, slatted tables so the pickers don't have bend over or squat all day! One of those carpenters could knock one up in an hour they're so skilled. The co-ordination of that team is seamless.

this textile is named NAMAD " نمد" In Iran and it's popular among every Turkic nomads. the job that is done by machine at 19:02 years ago was done by men using their elbow and feet and hitting it for days.very hard work but now machines are making it faster and easy.
It is called "kiyiz" in Kyrgyz language. I never knew it was made like this. An eye opening discovery.

Казахи точно так же делали юрту, войлочные ковры и из разноцветных шерстяных нитей ткали ковры текемет алаша(паласы). Это всё натуральное и одежду шили сами и сапоги, обувь шили сами. Моя бабушка сама ткала ковры, текемет и алаша. Казахи и киргизы один народ. У тюркоязычных народов и язык и культура и традиции одинаковые.

It's 100% organic. Without any chemical materials. During winter it's warm and summer time it's cool. Easy to collect and move to change location.
These folks are real artisans and make amazing dwellings.
why so much reach people in this world does not support such guys, amazing work, i would donate some tools if i can for them, and maybe others too, after all we are all family
They don't need handouts or your tools, because this is a primitive craft, they already have everything they need for this.
If you will give them modern tools all their knowledge will gone. They are still selfsuficient and we with all modern tools are not. Think about this. Such documentaries are soo preciouse to teach us not primitive what is possible to do without high technology and survive in nature and have a nice life.
And one more thing , they not live like this ,or do things this way , they recording an old folkcraft . Look at what they wearing, maid in India or China, just like yours . No need for patronizing them !They are not some kind of "Nobel Savages" they just like you or me

@@user-ip8gi6uc1r Конечно, а потом попробуйте его перетащить, наши предки делали то чем легче кочевать, они бы сделали из железа, если бы у него было преимущество. И далее по работе и плата, сами попробуйте несколько месяцев изготавливать каркас, а потом и войлок в ручную обработать и покрасить.

I’m loving your channel . I wonder if the guy making the hoop always has this guy assisting him 🥴 I’m impressed with the way they are bending that wood , how they fix the lattice , making the felt . In fact I’m impressed with all of it . I think I would have liked the odd , sporadic V/o giving us some guidance and information as to what we are seeing or maybe a wee caption . Obviously a lot is self explanatory . I’m just inquisitive. ❤️

Well there are little pottery figurines of yurts on carts 2000 years old, so you are within 50% accuracy whcih is not bad!

I visited Kyrgyzstan for a while. Beautiful place. They have some serious horse culture and hunt with big birds. They were kind and seemed to love bright colors. I was interested because I love horses too. I’m afraid their horses are too small for big guys from the US. Of course I never said that to them. Texas
Sandra Westley I suppose they never get big, too much hard work, and probably not a lot of food, other than the animals I don’t really see much food, or what they eat.

It's kyrgyz horse, is not big as in your country maybe, but they climb the mountains, withstand low temperature.
I had so many hunters from the US. Those horses will outperform most of their competition. There were days when hunters and guides used to go at around 5 am and come back around 6 or 7 pm. None of those horses complained, lol. No food, just some snow or water and the elevation was so high, that it was difficult for a human being to walk fast.

2000 to 4000 $ you can buy. But while purchasing it, you need to learn how built it.
Those yurts are not expensive. I am from Kyrgyzstan and can help to buy one if you or anyone else is interested.
