Lions are some of the most dangerous animals known to man. BUT there is one man who is part of their pride. Kevin Richardson, an outdoorsman who lives just 30 miles north of Johannesburg, has an amazing ability to communicate with some of Africas most feared predators. His conservation area is home to lions, hyenas, cheetahs, leopards and panthers. He is able to live with them, sleep curled up with them, swim with lionesses, caress cubs and tussle with males. This exciting and touching series will take viewers on a journey to the stunning African wilderness, giving them an exclusive insight into the life of the real Lion Whisperer.

@@TheOne-wl1yo I seriously doubt that but ok. She couldn't see a problem at that time. She killed the cub because he was the weakest, and at that time they were all too young and weak. Also, Kevin would notice something like that.

I applaud this man. He proves that animals are not "man eaters" or "emotionless" and that they have a heart, show love, and seek companionship.

Many of our behaviors are shared with lions and other animals because of us all being mammals. You would know this if you knew anything about animal behavior.

this is all possible due to years of hard work and study in understanding each of these lions, what I love about Kevin is his honesty in that he doesn't proclaim to be some lion tamer, he knows very well you can't tame lions, that some day maybe a lion will have a bad day and it could go wrong for him, but what he does is put trust in the bond he's built with them for years and years - he's not running around all the places saying he can magically tame lions, no, he simply knows HIS lions that he's worked hard to build a bond and trust with. Kevin is realistic about his abilities, that's what really sets him apart

He's also very careful. He has mentioned many times that he has to monitor the lion prides before he enters them; he won't enter if they're grumpy.

He treats them w the respect they deserve and doesn’t act like they are a house pet or force them to do insane tricks for humans. He NEVER takes the bond for granted! He knows he has to earn it and maintain it

This is nothing less than extraordinary. I love the fact that, despite his familiarity and friendships with these beasts, he never takes foolish or unnecessary risks and always remains respectful of their feelings, moods, power, and potential. My burning questions: (1) Was Pelokghale ever reunited with her cubs? (2) Was her friendship with Kevin ever fully restored?

I think I’m going to go back to watch every single show again because of Meg. Meg has always been the one that touched my heart the most and seeing her at the very beginning with her sweet wonderful sister Amy brings me so much joy. It’s time for reruns because this is the best!

Aww! I finally got to see Meg & Amy when they were cubs. They are so cute & smart. Meg acts the same now as she did then. I also got to see their parents, Tau & Tabbie. Even seeing Kev save Bongani as a cub was amazing. Poor Peloghale.That was probably the reason she offered her cub to Kevin as she knew instictively that it may be weak or not survive, but in the end, she killed it. At least he saved Bongani and his siblings. Bonnie was so brave having her cub where she did. Geena is such a legend and her boyfriend Trelli is a laugh too getting car rides.😅

When you think about it Kevin has recreated the ideal human relationship into a version compatible with these animals. -Has a good understanding of behavior and needs -Actively tries to avoid doing anything that would cause distrust -Respects space and privacy -Does not punish, but lets them know when they do something wrong -Likes to take things slow -Is always willing to spend time together -Forcing things that they can't deal with, or hate is unheard of -Everyone gets the same amount of love and care, never excluding anyone that needs it. Relationships make for a hard life, but this guy has it down to a science when it comes to understanding it for animals.

Meg & Ami as babies is so adorable. Breaks my heart a little that Ami isn't here but considering Meg and Kevin just put out a video 3 days ago their relationships going strong to this day fills my heart with joy. Kevin is making such changes in the lion community that will make the difference in future captive big cats in Africa.
I am a HUGE fan of Kevin - I watch his videos every day, no matter how many times I have seen them before. His interactions with animals gives me a glimpse into the world as I wish it could be, with empathy for creatures as distinct individuals with different mindsets, needs, aspirations and emotions. Kevin is surely blessed by God to have this gift and we are blessed to have Kevin.
I think I have a strong man crush on this wonderful man. He embodies that which is good, caring, honest, incredibly dedicated and courageous. Fantastic human being....

People who are live lives of greatness are willing to face the uncomfortable and be uncommon for the interest of growth. Kevin Richardson is one of those people who lives a life of greatness because he does what he enjoys. This man is making a different for these lions, he has my respect. Way to go, Richard.
People like Kevin Richardson remind us that life is all about risks, not taking a risk is still a risk; if you don't take any risks, you will never grow, if you don't grow, you will never prosper and if you don't prosper, you won't be happy, and if you're not happy what else is there? This man dedicates his life to make sure that these beautiful creatures do not go extinct, we also know that poachers do not value animal life the way wildlife conservationists do. Kevin is also reminding us that the common man has come into his own at last.Thus we are in danger of developing a cult of mediocrity.He who hesitates is lost.
What could be more wonderful then being loved by a lion their way the strength and courage of lions from early time to be gentle and well fed when they know you are not out to harm them this is what Kevin teaches us. Kevin is a remarkable teacher.

I was so sad when Amy passed. Kevin was devastated of course. I'm surprised he even allowed that to be filmed. Thank goodness his wife was there to console him. What hit me hard though was that left Meg by herself and she was so lonely. Meg and Amy were together for like 15 years. Kevin couldn't visit her enough to truly help and her whole life she only lived with Amy. Kevin introduced Icarus to her a 17 year old Male. Both of them are seniors and set in their ways but it was the only shot they had at helping Meg. It is not perfect but it has helped and hopefully in time they will get closer. They are in the same enclosure but don't lay with each other. They do have lots of interaction though so that seems to help both of them. Maybe in time they will cuddle. It has only been about 6 months.
Napoleon, such personality! Amy and Meg, the love they have for Kevin is immeasurable! And of course Gambit, how could anyone not love him!

I am extremely scared of animals but after watching this video I realised that baseless fear should be eradicated. Kevin Richardson is a gifted legend who can understand the language of love and trust. The way he raised these magnificent beings prove that meticulous upbringing can mould anyone into a good shape. Not to forget wild beasts are beyond taming but they put in their best efforts to be polished and gentle. I am so touched. 🥰🥰

I've watched quite a few of these videos, but I didn't realize how difficult Kevin's job is until watching this one. Seeing that baby cub's dead body and knowing it was his mother that did it was a shocker. Now the lioness is unhappy with Kevin for removing the other two cubs from her care -- it really showed just how difficult his job must be.
I'd be super leery of her after that.

Been a long-time admirer...of Mr. Richsrdson...NOW decades later... Kevin stands Stong in the face of any adversity..frm outsiders....The Lions + the other animals he cares for. God chose the right man for the job!!!
Kevin has a beautiful spirit and you can see that God gave this gift. What an amazing gift! Noah was the only one that could get near the animals when he was building the ark and loading the animals into the ark. Kevin reminds me of Noah and Daniel in the lions den. God bless you Kevin and thank you for sharing your gift to the world about these beautiful lions and the other animals.

Showing love and devotion to these animals is showing the same to God. And it is so amazing to note how the animals reciprocate. It is important to remain respectful of their moods and power and not take anything for granted. Excellent video.
I still miss Amy, too. We all feel for Meg being without her pride mate, but Kevin spends as much time with her as he can.

This man has a heart for these dangerous animals, yet he put his life on the line whenever he's around them. To show how much passion he has for these great beasts of the earth, many of y'all are just arrogant. What's the difference between him, police officers, those in the military, firefighter......yet they put there life on the line all day, everyday.....and if they die, they die with honor, respect, and glory for what they love and believe in. The only man that I know, just by watching this video, is the 1st to say, Kevin Richardson is EPIC!

This video is the sweetest thing i have ever seen I have never seen that amount of trust between lioness and man when she offers her baby to him there is an unbrakeable bond that is the best thing ever Along with that with the different scents of different animals on his shirt and the animals are still calm I cannot express how amazing this is

I don't know why but I find it so amazing that 'hugging' is not just a human trait! It's the instinctive result of the need to be near another living thing to feel them and smell them yet it's such a basic physical action with so much more emotion involved concerning the heart! Does any of that make sense? It's beautiful on many levels is what I'm trying to say I guess!
i've been following lionwhisperer channel & heard him talked about Meg & Amy's story (inlcuding being taken way for breeding) many times, but didn't know this is the video recorded that when they were still young. With Amy's recent passed away, this video definitely brings good memories of her. Also, amazing to see kevin still has his special relationship with some of these animals.

But it's just amazing to see you with the animals you started out with and through Love and Care that some of them are still around. After so many years. Broke my heart when Pems milk dried up and you had to take her cubs.

When a human raises an animal from birth or as an infant it sees the human as its mother. This is the case with Kevin Richardson. He has given these animals love, dedication, and nutrition... Anyone else stepping into their territory "will not be treated as loveling" as he is treated by them, such as the young woman that was attacked and killed by one of the lions on his reserve.
