    • @@roejogan9517 they don't interfere with the animals of course, but they do decide on what they want to show us as the audience. For example, a lot of the attire docs from the BBC are faked, made in studios etc, if they can't find an animal theyve been tracking for months, last resort is to hire one and so on. The role of the director and camera operators isn't simply to film and hit the record button. Its to tell a convincing story

      @BBSHOCKZ@BBSHOCKZ3 жыл бұрын
    • @@BBSHOCKZ I agree with you but too an extent... A bus i didn't notice until Tom pointed it out, isn't going to ruin their shot nor will it stop the show from telling a convincing story

  • As a viewer, I didn't mind the bus at all. As James said, it's part of life. As a viewer from another country, watching what happens in real life in Japan is interesting to watch. Even though we also have buses here in the States, Japan's is bright yellow, therefore it's different than what we have, thus it's interesting. Isn't that part of the show, to show the viewers interesting things about Japan?

  • I love the guy, genuinely, but I always thought it was a bit hurtful that James would belittle the work of his crew, professional filmmakers and photographers that they are. It's not just about pointing the camera in a certain direction and pressing a button, it's about capturing the absolute most perfect moment and presenting a record of it to others, others who might not have been there to witness it with you. It's a beautiful thing that we can do that these days and it's art in its own way, much like drawing/painting/writing are all forms of art in their own respect. He loves haikus but can't see that photography is art? Strangely narrow-minded of him.
