  • I love to see a video focusing on releasing the ball and hitting your target

  • Great lesson and tips. Especially about the extra strap sole that goes over your shoe. I see so many people do that. The drills they teach use them I do and it protects me from injury. Especially on different approaches. Thank you both as always great tips

  • Very tough to learn once you’ve been planting for so long. It’s a work in process tho. I do believe it’s better for longevity.

    • With the right coach, it can happen a lot quicker than you think. Even if you haven’t been sliding correctly for a long time! 😊

  • Good info. Nate asked what would we like to see. How to get revs. I switched from 2F1H where I get all the revs I want, but now with fingertip and thumb layout I just can't seem to "get it". Feels so awkward and get no revs. I've watched numerous videos, release exercises, all of it, still can't grasp it. Thanks for your videos.

  • When sliding, do you slide up the lane , parallel to the boards, or slide towards the target at angle with hips open?

  • Great topic that isn’t discussed much. Replaceable sole and heel shoes is that extra little nuance to get to the next level, of course unless you plant.

  • I currently average 210 and plant. Im worried that learning to slide is going to mess my muscle memory up and ill never truly feel comfortable with it. Will learning to slide actually improve my game?

    @TemptedTrigger@TemptedTrigger2 ай бұрын
    • I promise it will only improve your game. Yes, of course at first it will feel weird but after you get comfortable you will see a huge difference in accuracy and targeting. You will also help increase your longevity 😊 There is a reason that almost ALL the pros slide.

    • @@NateandElise just tried it for the first time tonight and wow. Not only is all the pressure off my knee gone but I can throw it with more speed now so much easier. Can already tell its going to make me way better once I get it down. Thank you for helping convince me to switch haha it was way easier than I thought it was going to be

  • Trying to teach bowlers common sense……..that’s impossible 😎 I use the 12 because I bowl 3 times a week and I’ve had serious lower back issues in my life not related to bowling. The slide saves you.

    @harveywallbanger2899@harveywallbanger28992 ай бұрын
    • While that may help you, I have people who bowl at a high level that have been told the opposite by their doctors and where told to plant for their specific case. They were told that sliding was causing their issues. Granted they are super tall and lanky and have no issue creating easy power anyways, but it is what is.

  • I know I'm going to get hammered for what I'm about to type here with folks accusing me of being harsh or something about your video. That isn't what I'm doing here I'm only passing along a bit more information that I felt should've been covered and talked about in this video only because it was brought up in the video even if it was very briefly to any new bowlers and semi new bowlers who might be strapped money wise. But hey hatters are going to hate no matter what and try to find the wrong with any kind of added advice or opinions that has been given out right sports fans? Anyway, here we go. You mentioned stepping in water, if you're leaving the lanes for any reason, you should be putting your booties or shoe covers (which ever you prefer to call them) on before you leave the lanes and remember to take them off once you return before you bowl. Nobody and I do mean nobody should bring food or drink on to the lanes themselves those should be kept on the tables provided in the back off of the lane/lanes you're bowling on. Also, you should have a good shoe wire brush in your bag in case you should get some kind of sticky or wet substance on the bottom of your shoes to clean them off especially your slide shoe. You must remember what may seem cheap or inexpensive to y'all isn't cheap or inexpensive for a lot of us out there who bowl. I've checked the pricing on all the types of interchangeable slide and heal bowling shoes and none of them are cheap and neither are the different slides and heals you need to buy for these so-called different types of approaches in my book as well as many other bowlers out there. I do agree having a good pair of bowling shoes is important but over my years and experience with bowling these new interchangeable slides and heals aren't much better than a good pair of regular bowling shoes, no I'm not talking about a pair of cheap ones, I'm talking about the mid to higher priced ones. There are some very good non-interchangeable bowling shoes out there that are just as good and not near as expensive, example I have a pair of the old Dexter Black/Silver bowling shoes that came out in the 80's and they're still like new and have and continue to work just fine on all the types of approaches that are out there today. They also came in Black/Gold which back in those days a lot of the pro bowlers used and wore. I couldn't afford the Black/Gold but was able to afford the Black/Silver ones. Remember you always get what you pay for, just because something costs a buck it doesn't mean it's worth a buck or even more most of the time it's worth a lot less and isn't made as well as something that may cost a bit or a lot more. The same holds true for things that are overpriced and or just more expensive. the most important thing here is only spend what you can afford to spend without breaking your bank account, be smart with your money period end of story. Just because you may like something and think something is better to use doesn't mean it is for everyone else, go with what you like, what works for you best, what's most comfortable for you and of course what you can afford. With that I'm out, now all you hatters can start hatting on me for this LOL. You and your family have a good, safe and blessed rest of your weekend.
