I’m surprised that the s21 ultra is holding strong against the s24 ultra, and in most cases I like better the performance of s21 ultra!!! Only the stabilisation and the night time scenarios are superior to s24 ultra, but not the front facing camera quality though !!! I’m s21 ultra owner and I think I’m gonna keeping it for longer then I thought!!! Nice job 👍

@wrightbytes I don't think so. Everything is in auto mode. The only thing I adjust (reduce to 0) is the face smoothness on the front facing camera. The rest stays untouched.

Just like I thought, the S21U is better overall except for the Selfie video because of the donkey "Exynos chip" I bet that the S21U Snapdragon version will blow the S24U out of the water which is really shame since the difference against the S24U is 3 years! The huge price gap for the S24U doesn't reflect the real quality difference! I think you should compare the S24U against the older flagship S Ultras again after the alleged camera update from Samsung to give the S24U a last chance otherwise, it's not worth a penny IMO! The reason for that is that Samsung has taken longer than usual, which could be a sign that it hasn't really figured out the trick. Thanks very much for doing this. I have the 21 ultra and have been wondering whether to upgrade as I like my pics. I compete with my wife 😊 who is a better photographer than me and I recently splashed out and got her the iPhone 15 pro max. Mainly because the iPhone 12 she had was pants at zoom. Based on this I am really not convinced it is worth it yet for me to upgrade. So much hype about the S24 ultra too so I am surprised at the reality. Looked like the S24 beat the S21 in some cases but also and equally vic-versa. I guess what we are seeing is that they are all getting so good it is getting harder and harder for them to improve. Maybe they should do a x30 optical or something. Love the approach you take. Not much commentary but just pure evidence.

So I just made this exact switch, except my s21 ultra was a snapdraagon 888. I think the 21 ultra is a sleeker, lighter and somewhat more slippery phone without a case. The main reasons I upgraded is that I knew I only had 1 more year of security updates and the deals from verizon were just too good to pass up, the s25u might not have the same discounts. And in a year I'd have no choice but to take anything available. The camera is comparable, but with a decent improvement in a lot of areas. The best part is the insane Gorilla Glass Armor the kills light reflections straight on. The speakers are also a decent upgrade. I thought the processor would feel much faster, but for the apps I use, it is only slightly better. I took good care of the s21u battery and it was still great, but the 24u is just a little bit better. In all I'm happy with the upgrade, but would still be satisfied with the s21u.

For me the S21 ultra still has the best design and form factor up to date ❤ And for the s24 ultra samsung should start immediately rolling some updates to fix major problems and I guess they should let director view return as a camera mode !

I can't believe how well it's still doing up against the new mighty 24 ultra. The s21 ultra has always been absolutely horrendous with night shots and the quality on the selfie camera is starting to show age too. Great review keep them coming bro 👍

Thanks for making the comparison. I have used the S21 ultra for 2.5 years. Before watching your video, i almost made the decision to buy the new S24 ultra, but now I am in doubt. It seems that photo quality of S21 ultra is better than that of S24 ultra, this makes me really want to stay with S21 ultra. However, I have another concern that is the battery life. After being used for almost 3 years, my S21 ultra is unable to last for the whole day, so I am still considering whether to go for a new S24 ultra or not.

the S21 appears to be better on a few tests, but overall, the S24 is just that extra bit better for most of the things I want - the highest possible resolution for detail, often outdoor zoom shots. Overall, the S24 wins for my purposes. I noticed on the video panning that the S21 was a lot more jerky. Night mode interior was startlingly worse in almost every case on the S24. The S24 outdoor video 10x zoom at 16:27 is wildly better than the S21. But then oddly at 18:48 close up the the Kebab sign, the S21 wins. But, is it worth the purchase price for the gain? Surprised with the s21U. It is not that the s24U has not been better, but that the s21 is a great great phone, even after 3 years. Soto, great video! But I have one suggestion, if I may. You could save your time and cut off the part of video in 1080p. I think most people do not use this resolution anymore, so, it could save your time in the next videos. Thank you very much! Bless!
Hi. Thanks for the tip. Not long ago I put 2 polls on the community tab about what video resolutions people use the most during the day and at night. You'd be surprised to see the amount of people that chose the 1080p even at 30fps. 1080p video quality has improved massively and takes up less space, important now given that there is no microsd card support, especially in flagships. This video is amazing, compliments, I realised that there is not too much difference between the 2 series, even of course here in Italy we have exynos and in other countries Snap. I bought S23 ultra because I am tired of exynos and it is a bit faster.

I have moved from S21U to S24U (mostly because my S21U battery couldn't work for day, S24U now still 30-50% left at the evening with the same use scenarious). You may see not much changes in daylight photos without cropping in images but when light is not enough S21 is much noisier, also night time photos on S21U sometimes may take 3-4 sec while S24U takes 1 sec and with less noise at result. Also 10x optical zoom on 21 is much darker and then 5x/10x on 24. Stabilisation on 10x zoom is also much better on 24. Very good comparison but I think it would be great to include crop images to see the differences/noise level of images.
Thanks mate!! I don't do cropping because it's not how the vast majority of people see pics. That would also involve a little bit of explanation, therefore making the video longer and showing less pics in different scenarios which I prefer. The S24 Ultra needs a big update. 4K 60fps at night is pretty bad and it needs a lot of artificial light to perform decently. The 5X/10X zoom without night mode is incredibly dark, the darkest I've seen in a Samsung phone. It tends to overexpose pics and wash out videos. The S21 Ultra is 3 years older and it does produce better shots especially on flowers to my surprise. Thanks for watching the video and stay safe.

If I owned a S21 Ultra and it was working well, I would not be changing until the main OS updates ended. There were a few thing that the S21 Ultra was not as good as the S24 Ultra, but also the other way. Apparently there are some updates coming to the S24 Ultra, including camera fixes. S24 Ultra edges stabilisation in a couple of situations, but the S21 Ultra did well.
Stabilization better. Slightly less blown out face. However the 10x optical out performs the 10x digital. Love my s21U. Will trade only for s23U on a killer sale.

I LOVE my S21 Ultra. Would definitely have kept using it, but I dropped it and cracked the screen. Hobbled along fine for several more months but forgot to get a protective cover and dropped it again this week. Ugh. Now the top half inch won't respond. Bought the s24 Ultra yesterday. Really, really hoping it will be a great update. Still tempted to try and get the glass replaced on my 21 ultra.

Samsung is trying to fix the over sharpening, but S24 Ultra shots look a bit too soft. S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra surely are still very nice phones and since the software update support of S24 Ultra is for 7 years, you can grab one 2 or 3 years later. No rush for getting the latest phone since it doesn't necessarily seem the greatest.

I use AGC GCam on my S21 Ultra when I want to get actual good shots and it produces amazing shots without the issues that seems to have with the stock camera. At the end of the day if you know how to use a camera you will get amazing shots with either devices, I will definitely be keeping my S21 Ultra for another year. Its a beast and Samsung doesnt seem to be impriving much.

I actually got the 21 ultra several months ago. Refurbished. Figured I'll try it & move up from there. S21 ultra has been the best phone that I have owned, does everything I need it to! Next option was going to be the 23 ultra or 24 ultra but watching this video makes me not want to upgrade. S21 ultra is 🔥 the lastest up-date it got, I can actually hold down the home button & do a screen search! Pretty cool!

Low light video is where the s21 ultra is really bad. Horrible noise. And stabilization tanks. Just not a clean looking image. The best jump from the 21 was going to the 23 ultra. Everything was improved ALOT. Low light video noise, video stabilization, low light photos. The 23 ultra is very well optimized all around. I'm not impressed with that 5x lens on the 24 ultra at all. Nor is it much of a jump if any going from 23 ultra to 24 ultra. The 22 ultra also shows it's age relative to what I spoke of earlier too. It's that older tech 108 mp sensor.
The older 108MP is not bad at all if it's well optimised. Maybe Samsung should go back to it. Thanks for watching the video and stay safe.

I own S21U, can get S24U for free through my company. But to be honest, I am quite dissapointed how similar the S24 is despite being 3 generations newer. When comparing pure technical specs of the cameras, the S21 actually seems a bit better when it comes to secondary cameras. So I guess I'll just wait what the S25U will bring to the table.

I don't know why Samsung chooses to go with that processing for the front camera on the S21 Ultra but I guess with some color grading it could look just as good as the S24 Ultra (that goes for pretty much all the shots)
I may be the only one, but I don't see any notable advancements that deserve to put $1300 into this S24 Ultra instead of $350 for an S21 Ultra (Snapdragon preferred, the Snapdragon model is really better than the Exynos model in video, especially at night) 🤷🏽♂️ Except maybe the default color science which has improved a bit, but is easily correctable on the S21 Ultra. I much prefer the contrast management and exposure of the S21 Ultra, and I'll say it again, the S21 Ultra is the Ultra that handles exposure and neon lights best especially at night. The S24 Ultra with its 7 years of Android update will become a bargain in 2-3 years when it costs $400, and Samsung will have corrected many of its teething problems in the meantime. Ps: I think that on 95% of night photos in 10X zoom, the S21 Ultra used the main sensor and not the dedicated sensor. 🙏🏽

The only reason I left the 21 ultra was battery life, with exynos chipset it was terrible, I'm thinking in returning the s24 ultra since the 5x night photos are very dark and dim feels like I'm taking photos with a mid range device

IMO the s24 was equal or better in every test. Low light of course it blew the s21 away. There wont be a big leap until samsung goes with a 1 inch sensor. A lot of improvements right now have come from software and more powerful processors to be able to do more processing in less time.
Well, the S24 Ultra has one of the most, if not the most, powerful processor right now and it's not really performing as it's supposed to across the board. Low light was objectively a massive difference. The s21 would sometimes be brighter but that does not equal quality. Tons of noise. The ultrawide definitely needs an upgrade to improve low light, though. Yeah, it should get even better with updates and leverage more of that powerful chip for the processing photos and videos. @@Soto-Tech2020

yeah, really no big differences. i have both phones and often, in good conditions, l like the S21U pics better. If you look just at the camera department, l think that there's no need to change the S21. l'd rather wait till they stop supporting the S21 and switch to the S25 next year

It's all a scam. The S24 looks the same as the S21 when it came out..They just lower The Quality of the old phones and give you the same "new" quality every year. Go back and look at the S21 quality when it first launched. Same as the S24

I'm not surprised much. With just those 3 (3x 10x ultra) lens until the S23U. If the S21U have camera software same with S22U or S23U, i'm sure you cant see different. Samsung just downgraded s21U camera software to make sure people have to by the new models :)))

This video surprised me. The S21 Ultra is still an excellent performer in 2024. It gives the S24 Ultra such a close run in photo terms. Videowise it is still competitive. To a point. Having owned an Exynos S21 Ultra in the past, I know from bitter experience that it's low light video has very poor noise control. Even in daylight video, I was getting excess noise in shadow areas. The S24 Ultra destroys it here.
Well, the S21 Ultra in daylight doesn't seem to be bad at all in terms of image quality. The S24 Ultra is supposed to be a lot better but it's not. Hopefully, with the camera update that it should have been out by now. Thanks for watching the video and stay safe.

I see still not worth it For the Galaxy S21 Ultra owners to upgrade to the Galaxy S24 Ultra yet. The S21 Ultra is still an Amazing job and has good specifications. Both cameras are very good But I see the S21 Ultra camera still a great job.

La gente está siendo estafada en el tema de la calidad del zoom, el s24u no tiene mejores resultados que el s23u en ese apartado por ejemplo, lo que hace es utilizar una técnica llamada interpolación bilinear, cosa que se puede hacer en sencillos pasos con una aplicación externa, una técnica de edición de imagen que no toma ni 15 segundos aplicar
