Here’s the problem with cybersecurity tools: they can’t always be trusted! That’s why in this video I’ll answer the million-dollar question, are password managers safe? Well, stick around because the answer is, not always!
❓ So - you may be wondering - should I use a password manager? There’s no doubt in my mind that a password manager is the safest, and most convenient way of protecting your passwords. Sticky notes are a thing of the past, am I right?! The majority of specialists and cyber security experts plug them for a reason.
The main reasons I use a password manager:
🚀 Keeps your password safe
🚀 Uses zero-knowledge architecture to protect your data
🚀 Generates strong passwords
🚀 Improves weak passwords
🚀 Scans the dark web for your leaked information
🚀 Lets you save other data
🚀 You can securely share your passwords
---------------------------------------------------------------------
❓ Free vs paid password managers:
Premium password managers are a lot more advanced, and in turn, has super-sophisticated methods for protecting your passwords. Often free options have weaker encryption, though there are some best free password manager options. I’ve used some options that are even buggy, developed by non-reputable companies, and sometimes the app itself is even plagued with malware.
A small caveat when it comes to free password managers - often the ease of use wouldn’t be as streamlined. You’d have to solely rely on your master password to gain access, seeing as they don’t have fingerprint or face ID logins. That’s where premium or freemium password managers come in:
💣 NordPass - one of the best password manager options 💣
In short, NordPass is a super-secure option, that is really easy to use. I don’t think beginners would have an issue here. Though, advanced users wouldn’t feel cheated either. Is Nordpass safe? Well, I found it pretty invaluable for tracking my passwords. Nordpass 2022, as it stands, is a great foundation of security, 2fa, biometric authentication, a password generator, a data breach scanner, and a lot of other helpful capabilities.
✔ Next-gen XChaCha20 encryption
✔ Cheaper than most
✔ Anonymous payment option
✔ Data breach scanner

🔥 Keeper - best premium password vault🔥
Okay, Keeper password manager! Now, this is one of the most feature-rich security tools I’ve had the pleasure of trying. To answer is Keeper secure?
They have unique features that no-other password manager currently has. This comes in the form of their self-destructing KeeperChat, a messaging tool. They have 3rd party authenticators, security audit options, and biometric logins. I particularly love that they too keep up with the industry with their Breach Watch feature, which scans the dark web for leaks.

⚙️ Roboform - best password manager for business ⚙️
The golden question: is roboform secure? I could receive reports on my passwords strengths, and easily change passwords with their generator. What sets them apart is the option to self-host. This just means your data would be stored only on your device. Though, for a streamlined experience, it is possible to sync all devices too.

I put in an extra 4 characters after the password that the manager makes for a site, that way even if it gets hacked, they can't login without the last 4 characters that only I know
That's smart! 😲
I am looking for a new password manager, and will be implementing this suggestion. Thank you for the advice.
@June@97 Thanks. I am currently using Dashlane. But want something more secure.
@June@97 That is okay about not having knowledge of encryption. I have some knowledge. Yeah....that was a stupid joke. But I just woke up and barely had any coffee. So forgive me.
@June@97 I have been using Dashlane. But I am getting more paranoid as I get older.....not aluminum foil on the head paranoid. By next year, I will be on a Linux phone, build my own router, host my own mail servers, as well as a few other things.
Decided to leave LastPass for another password manager. Should I manually delete the most sensitive passwords before closing my LastPass account for security reasons?
Thoughts on sticky password? I know they don't offer as many features and UI is not outdated but the product seems pretty solid. Just not sure from a security perspective.
Do you have any knowledge about Bitdefender's new Password Manager? For some reason the 'remember me' button doesn't actually remember me and it doesn't actually auto-fill every site. They say they can't replicate the problem. Fantastic...
Is Norton Password Manager for Chrome any good ?
It’s nice to be early gang!
Can you do one for the new PCloud Pass? Thanks
Hi. I have been using nordpass for 2 years and like it. Love the new add file feature. One question I have is I use it at work on computer and added the file extension. Is file extensions safe or should they be avoided. Thanks in advance.... stephen
The extension seems fine, been using it for 3 years
Bitwarden Is my favorite due to self-hosting
Bitwarden is indeed really good!
How come you didn't talk about Bitwarden ?
What about kaspersky password manager? Am using it but am not sure about it
Kaspersky is owned by the russian goverment and has been proven to leak data to them.
We had a fun time at work today thanks to Lastpass.
I made my own password manager due to trust issues
Wow! 😲
@@cybernews I have also made a password generator app and according to the information given by some website which tests the strength of passwords, a computer will take billion years to crack those passwords.
@@cybernews I want to know from you whether the information given by those websites is true or not?
@@flash.banger No one even really knows, can a pass word just be bypassed, it is just software, I'm a coder been coding since the mid 80s, I use hardware or physical means and software for what that is worth.
People loose their life saving from crafty Indian scammers, and as you get older you are a great target.
what about dashlane?
Can you please do a review making abstraction of the cost? Prices keep changing and we can all decide how much we want to spend. So many reviewers keep focusing on the cost and neglect to review the actual features. I would have liked to see a review with making abstraction of the cost, and just focus on features. Some products get the "best" just because they have a free version; but the same products also have a paid version and those paid versions never get compared to the other paid versions. If you want to make a review about free versions, then name it that way; but please make a review about the paid versions as well for those who don't mind paying for their product.
"I'll remember that!" *proceeds to forget the password 5 minutes after*
Really nice video! Maybe one day iSenhas - Password Manager could be on a video like that!
Hmmm 🤔
Great suggestion! I will for sure look into it... 👀
@@cybernews Thanks!! 😍
Hmm, first tutorial that doesn't mention Bitwarden and its self-hosting capabilities. Reason?
And states, that desktop-password managers are the safest, although a PW-manager in the form of or on a separate device that never connects to the internet is a much safer option in theory (some poorly designed hardware "PW-Managers" aside)
No money involved
I think physical guards are better than just software guards. I run a password safe, called Password Safe it is open source software + free and works very well for me. I would not save it to the so called clouds which is just a fluffy way of saying a remote server.. I save the pass word safe file to USB sticks which are only plugged in when needed, all passwords are 20 characters long it the site permits it. I regularly run through auto fill / saved passwords on the browsers I use, ensuring there is nothing there that should not be, or I not happy with. I only use a credit card on line with a spending limit, I can afford to loose. I only use a current bank account if I must, again with a spending limit, I can afford to loose. If you use your phone or several devices this is not much use to you.
8:40 You spelled strength wrong.
Thanks for noting that!
08:40 "Password Strenght"
mispelled words do be kinda strong passwords
@@Welowas Good point. xD
But a password manager means only one password need to be cracked.
@@duncanshoo8383 OK fair enough. Thanks for making the case.
I'm constantly forgetting passwords.
you should maybe not use windows 11 for numerous reasons, look them up.
Which password managers have dark web scanning?
NordPass, Keeper, Dashlane and 1Password have dark web scanning feature available with their premium plans!
iSenhas - Password Manager 🤩
Hard to believe this guy is AI-generated.
Are you using a password manager? If not, will you START using one after watching this video??? Let me know! ⤵️
Do they all rely on your system clipboard ?
Yes, it’s strongbox.
Couldn't help try and flog over priced managers and still no mention of the best free and paid password manager bitwarden!
Just pay then. Stop being cheap
@@shotfromthedome5376 pay for crap software that's not as good as bitwarden free no thanks you have windows user written all over you lol 😂
@@aaron6841 if your broke just say that 🤷♂️
@@shotfromthedome5376 classic boomer logic thinking because you pay for crap buggy software it must be better then any free alternative. Try being more open to new software alturnives to windows and Adobe and you might be surprise yourself.
I run a password safe, called Password Safe it is open source software + free and works very well for me.
