  • Abidi was amazing! Such an undefeated spirit! You can see he's not scared one second in this fight, and throwing everything he can far beyond his limits. All that to play along with the match, while convinced he can't win this, very early. Everytime he goes down, you see he watches his corner, waiting for approval to stop the match. And everytime he seems to not getting this show to stop, he gets immediatly back in and keep fighting hard, while clearly dominated. Such a selfless way of fighting, such a soldier, I'm impressed. And Jerome is a true gentleman fighter, as always : never mocking his opponent, never making a cheap blow or throwing a single out of control punch or kick when opponent is down, never contesting the referee, never fighting with half a heart, doubt or slowing down. Same respect for the rule : if they say to keep fighting, he keeps fighting, and he'll do it properly to the end. (even though he met his limits too, here, endurance-wise) You want them to fight, those guys fight, properly and fully, and they'll keep fighting until someone decide the match is done for it. Beautiful monsters of legend.

  • Jerome Le Banner is prone to that type of injury to his head. If I remember it right, I think he also had that type of injury as well when he fought Semmy Schilt. But despite having that kind of swelling, there is no quit in him.

    • You can see where the heads collide in that first knockdown of the 2nd round at around 2:11, playing it in 0.25 or 0.5x makes it even more apparent. With this type of clash, you are going to see this type of swelling happen a lot immediately afterwards. You might argue that his style itself creates more opportunities for heads to clash, but I don't think he would necessarily be prone to this type of injury, just unlucky to have it happen.

    • Yeah sure thats why Cyril ignored the refs warning 3 times in a row for grabbing Le Banners head with both hands pulling his head down to strike, apparently against the rules. Pk in Muy Thai or UFC probly what you're used to, but every organization has their rules which must be followed. Learn the rules. Ref used sign language. Gave yellow card fighter ignored each time. • This fight was surprising to watch and see the outcome. Initially, I thought that Cyril was done after several knockdowns. However, his resilience proved to reveal him to be a pretty good fighter. He took some really good shots but also gave some good blows that resulted in Banner's obvious hematoma. The size difference of the two fighters was apparent as well as the weight behind the punches given by both men. I will admit, I believe Banner won this fight but, it was NOT an easy win. He walked away with the gift of swelling which needed medical attention. Bottom line...good fight!
