    • I thought it was Greek too because it's served at Greek restaurants. Most people are walking around with word origin knowledge for their entire vocabulary. Actually after doing some research it turns out that baklava's origin is up for debate so there was no need for your correction.

    • Technically right, it's modern origins are Turkey, Greece and the middle east. But medieval its traced through Turkey. All styles are extremely similar.
