You, Kevin, are an electrical artist (and quite possibly genius as well). Well done on that build, sir.
That is some serious lighting! Expensive setup, for me, but i need to start buying a little at a time.
This is definitely where I am the least knowledgeable. This video has really been educational. Thanks!
Damn those Aussie brands ARB, RedArc, Lokka are a real top notch!
Incredible upgrade, really well designed and love how everything is accessible by pulling down the rear seat.
Definitely enjoy the technical videos like this showing your builds.
Great video! Provides a ton of ideas for a “newby” to this overlanding fraternity. Definitely a follower now! 😎💪🏽
That GX is ready.
Beautiful setup.
Thank you!
Nov 25, 2021 • some ingenuity in crafting that mounting plate, but overall exceptional production quality of this video. Well done!
Awesome install ! Impressed by your fabrication, electrical and install skills! Think of the $ in labor you saved, by doing it yourself! You should be proud!
Sharp setup. I'll be running everything through the RedVision system on my next build!
Nicest electrical management system on the market by far.
They shure light up your life!
Just what I needed to light my way...... Thanks
I just wanted to drop by and say your build is so awesome!
Super clean! Love it, well done!
Mind blowing arrangements..
Excellent video and installation. Very well done!

Impressive! Seems like a very well thought out setup!

I am not building or upgrading any overland. But seeing you plan and build is satisfying. haha.... Great craftsmanship.
Wow amazing job. Very nice walk through.
Great info my friend. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Very outstanding and professional installation and upgrade. Keep up the good work on your channel!
Thank you, this have given me ideas for my rig. Always improving and upgrading to new tech.
This is one HECK of a rig! Seriously love this!
The lighting system is awesome
Love the idea of using a 7 pin harness to route wires to the roof!
Great video! Looking forward to getting caught up on the additions videos you mentioned.
Thank you!!
very clean install...

great video sir!
Nice looking setup 😎👍
Outstanding "DIY How To" make sure you post this over on OB. Thanks folks
Hello! This is amazing! It's a great outdoor life channel! I had a lot of fun watching it! It's an interesting video! Thank you for sharing!
Amazing job!!! I recently added the RedArc BCDC charger with a lithium and keeping everything as clean as you did is amazing. Great job and cant wait to hear your thoughts on the Redarc Redvision. I have been looking at that now....lol
Love the rig
Wow best overland car 😍
You will never have enough light at night when you out there in the wildness.
Awesome keep rolling
Excellent work! As a tech nerd and audio engineer, I'd highly recommend the newer "Tesla style" head units with UIS (or equivalent) chipsets. Avoid the old PX6 units. They are much faster, but also offer digital audio outs, which allows proper DSP and compliment of amps to suit audio upgrades. They should also receive more support for longer as they aren't outdated like the old PX6 / Rockchip based units. Anyway, excellent videos! You sold me on the Redarc Redvision. I was going to do a DIY thing with an Auxbeam Switchpros knockoff, but by the time I factor in a DC to DC charger, MPPT, shore power option, time and hassle of wiring these all up and making them work together, combined with less features (no external triggers, water level and temp monitors, other cool features on the Redarc), AND the fact that the Redarc will almost certainly last much longer and be more reliable than the aforementioned, the Redarc really makes the most sense. I'm a cheap, cheap, penny pinching sonofabitch, but I've done enough of this DIY stuff with cheapo junk to know that sometimes (often?) the cheapest option is the most expensive. Thanks again for the great videos!
FINALLY you have 4k!!! I came back to watching your channels :P
you guys are great. get in to GXOR
I love you guys you're amazing I'm a photographer your photos are sharp wonderful angles your family is sweet can't wait for your next adventure thank you for sharing that's a lot of hard work on your car
Brother.....I need to hire you to help w my truck build..lol
Great stuff guys. PS love the brake controller, will order that for my wife's new Jeep...if they ever released a build date 🤦♂️
so many lights equipped
Great installation. Love the attention to detail. I couldn't find anything on Get Lost Overland about their battery terminal kits. Any chance you could put a link up for them?
This one great video! Been planing build trying to decide redarc or spod. Wish redarc would put out more information. Maybe you should be a spokesperson for here in the states. Was wondering if this was possible. Thanks and can't wait to see more.
Kevin the fabricator....Who knew. lol Great job on the electrical set up.
On the FTM-400XDR the radio is capable of being programmed via a laptop and speeds things up quite well if you want to add in multiple frequencies. If you are only adding one though then thru the head unit is just as fast. Great radio pic though the 400 rocks.
At 12:30, please add a "Sunglasses Recommend" warning. Great video. As an ex-sailboat cruiser with a dual 350 AH banks (2 x 6v each), I am really surprised a single 100 AH battery get the job done. But we had a 3/4 hp motor to pull down 2 big cold plates in the freezer/frig. Plus, this was in the 90's before LEDs really changed the DC landscape. In a couple years I'll be land cruising :)
Good stuff , did you change out the alternator to a higher amp one ? or do you supplement that with solar ? I have 4Runner but it is mostly stock and since I don't do a lot of things that use power since I don't make videos but I do have a 54L Kalamera compressor fridge that does eat power when in hot places like last summer in south Texas . I will be adding some ground lighting like what you have for camp . I have a few different types of lanterns all USB rechargeable and my favorite ones are the bug zapper lights that are really small but work pretty darn good but adding lights under the 4Runner will make pulling into camp at night way better .
Very nice!! Neat n clean👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 what would u recommend for the main battery?
All good Australian products 😁
VERY NICE!!!! Expansive....but nice. would love to get that many lights in my build. r u still using the same head unit?
thought you were on a lunar expedition there at the end, thanks for the great tips and tricks, were you a stereo installer in your past life?
Very Nice!!! :)
Im outfitting my 05 f250 5.4l for overlanding first step is a flat bed since my truck self installed the bed rust package 🤣🤣
Love your content. Did you wire up your compressor to your second battery and did you wire direct and fuse it
Hi kev, great work, just wondering if the Lexus is still under GVM weight, big issue here in Australia
It is a pro wiring set up, how about the 100w Custom fit hood solar panel?
Hi Kevin, why do you have 2 negative cables from the battery negative, shouldn’t you have only one which goes to the battery side of the shunt?
Kevin... link for Get Lost battery terminal connector. Thanks
I just wish you went a little deeper in depth about what you did and used to route through the antenna hole to the roof. Would make a nice additional video on it's own.
PAÍS : BRASIL 🇧🇷 Estado : Ceará Cidade : Fortaleza
More lights than Torbs. Now you can arrive at camp in the dark.
Did y'all have to upgrade the alternator to support extra battery system ?
👍
awesome work! But I got a question, how's this different from running a 1500W jackery? I'll be getting a fridge and I'm between getting a Jackery or doing custom work like this.
The Jackery will work fine for a few days of use but needs a system of recharging after that. The system Kevin has installed here is way at the upper end of cost and need in my opinion. The advantages he gets is a system that recharges through solar or through the vehicles alternator. Other systems are available. I suggest looking into Will Prowse’s YT channel. Dude knows his stuff and isn’t beholden to a brand.
Hola cómo estás soy Tony vivo en Ciudad Juárez Chihuahua me gustan mucho tus videos una pregunta Dónde comprar todos los accesorios
I'm just an almost 70 year old country boy who still tries to live an analog existence and runs an older non-digital pickup truck for hunting and camping. Quite the kit and rig but seems like overkill.
I run dual 100AH battleborns in my 5th gen thru a redarc bcdc 2550 and a merlin solar up top cant run it down ever.
Very clean install. I assume that the stock alternator has more than enough capability to run everything? Until next time.... Travel Safe.
Omg it looks like a ufo from close encounters.
Please Link for the light thanks in advance
Any particular reason you chose to put a snorkel on this rig?
yeah, looks adequate. personally, i do 3 to 5 like-setups a day, with 1 eye closed of course ; )
The question is that why i cant give you more than one like!?!
Putting electronics directly under an air compressor is not a great idea. Condensation. Vibration. Static. Not good stuff for electronics. But...really cool video. Loving the tech stuff.
We like to really put things to the test. 👍
My guy how the heck did you learn how to do all this stuff?
It all started when I was young. Growing up on a farm, wiring houses with my dad at 14, building a VW Beetle when I was 15, IBEW apprenticeship, and a lot of mistakes along the way. 😃👍
👍🏾👌🏾
Where is your 4Runner?
4:15 Nooo!!! 4:20 No No Nooooo !!
Where’s the 4Runner?
What, no inverter? ;)
That’s nice, but; if your going to show it’s full potential, how about plugging all of your electronics, from cell, iPads, computers, coffee pots, electric blankets, refrigerators, etc, then turning them all on at one time, and let them run coninously for several days.
I'd sure like to get some of those battery cable ends for the battery, but I can't seem to find them. Help!
Fellow KZhead viewers, please keep in mind the Yaesu FTM-400XDR is a ham radio. NOT a CB / GMRS / FRS class radio. To legally operate such a radio REQUIRES an FCC license as an amateur radio operator!
Redarc gear is great but you will need to sell your first born to be able to afford it!
Not trying to be a smart ass here or anything because I just don’t know. The cost of all of that is well over 3K bucks. Why couldn’t you just buy a Bluetti Jackery type solar generator at a fraction of that charging the same way (vehicle) and run all the stuff off of that? Is it an amp hour situation or what?
First, I'm not knockin' this whole set up, to each his/her own; but, why do so many people put their air compressor inside? Anyway, great job for what you want it to be. Zona
Clean air is the main benefit, but having it close to the battery is another advantage in this example - they have a high amp draw.
