Figured that junk was spam. Congrats Chris. Farm doubling in size is a great achievement. You ought to be very proud. Gonna be super. Best of luck with your new dream.
Thanks for the notification LetsDig18.
Shit I thought I had won some land 😕
Cant u delete them
Copy that
Congratulations! There once was a farmer who won the lottery and not a little lottery but THE lottery. The local news sent a reporter to interview him and he was asked "what was he going to do now?". He thought for a while and said that he was going to continue farming until the money ran out.
So you could deduce from that answer that maybe he wasn't such a good farmer. These days farming is not really a lifestyle as it may have been, rather it requires considerable business acumen.
And with all the business knowledge in the world you could still wake up one morning broke as a joke. A farmer is the only business that doesn’t have a set price on what they produce. Way too many other folks taking profit between the farmer and consumer.
@@lesmiller1739 Actually, crop futures have been a thing for, oh, a century or more.
Yes I know that. Need to be a broker to play the Board. An ex boss was waiting for cattle to go up one more penny and just before closing they dropped a dollar. Millions of dollars were lost that day and they ended up selling a lot of property to get back on stable ground. Either way the broker made their money with no worries You can still lose big.
In England we would say that reply was "as dry as you like".....
It's beautiful land Chris, congrats on your purchase! Now we've got another 20 years of video to watch!!!
Congrats on your new property. Those two raised areas that you mentioned appear to be the ground work for railroad tracks running through the woods. I had the same configuration at a property I lived on twenty years ago. With some research, found out that they actual had planned on running auxiliary tracks to a final destination to save time for commuters, although they abandoned the project. Again, congrats on your new acquisition! Also, really like your vision for what the areas will become!
I second your statement about old railroad bed @ 20:30 in the video that’s what it looks like to me
rail track bed was the first thought i had too tbh
I agree Railroad road bed. The RR loves to have a ditch on both sides
Wow!! Congratulations! Very nice purchase there. Can’t wait to see the different improvements you end up making. Lots of cool videos to come.
Chris and I have watched you for years I have never made the first comment just enjoyed your content and your wonderful work. However with the purchase of this Farm I don't believe I've ever heard you so excited. Your head is so full of excitement and Visions I am very happy for you.
We got the same opportunity to close on our neighboring property just a couple weeks ago. After waiting 5 years - I can relate - the feeling is fantastic to finally aquire it!
OH WOW! Hearty congratulations, Chris!!! 👍👍👊👊
Congrats Chris! Love the idea of saving the big oaks, having pastures and cabins. Great vision and can't wait to see the videos of it all coming together. 😊.
I imagine, unless Chris is in some kind of hurry, that you will not see the end of this project until a few years down the road. I'm sorry if I missed this, but are you planning to sell the cabins to pay for the land, or rent them to tourists
I’m happy for you Chris! Can’t wait to see the future vids.
Between the pasture, pond, trees, and underbrush- some excellent deer and wild turkey habitat.
Congratz on the new property! It's nice to have a new clean canvas on which to paint another portrait! As for the oak - we call them Black Jack Oaks here in Texas. I have a few on my property and I've done everything I can to clear around them and clean them up to promote more growth. Enjoy and I look forward to seeing how you turn your ideas into reality.
Congrats on being able to expand your farm. The cattle will be happy with the extra pasture. The cabin idea is a neat idea. Looking forward to future videos of you transforming the new property.
Post oak but my dad called them native oak
Wonderful! How exciting to have finally gotten your dream farm! I know you've been doing KZhead for a long time, and it's nice to see how some of that income can be converted into long-term income via rental units, etc. You're young right now, but before you know it, you'll be old like me! If you set everything up right, you can have a comfortable work life and retirement without having to work 80 hours each week. You're smart and a hard worker -- I can't think of anyone who deserves this more than you!
WOW!!!! THIS IS AWESOME CHRIS! It’s right next door too. What A Dream. A man with a Vision. So Happy For You. Congratulations!
Very cool project. Maybe talk with Kapper Outdoors? His channel is all about fixing up farmland and hunting grounds. kzhead.info/sun/ipGIaNWJkZapm68/bejne.html
You are still a young man Chris, you will have plenty of time to realise your ambitions, well done to you, love from the UK.
What a gorgeous piece of land. Thank you for sharing your dreams. I love to hear people have dreams and then they start to become reality through sheer hard work, passion and patience. I am so happy for you and your family. Don't forget to enjoy it. ❤❤❤
Landlord Chris - hope you'll fight against famine now. 💪
I couldn't imagine having a blank slate that big with all your equipment and skills. It is going to be beautiful, no doubt!
Well luckily you know a guy that is really good with heavy equipment and knows stuff about how to see your dream come true.
Congrats on getting that land! Great investment and plans. That is indeed a Water Oak (a red oak species with spoon-shaped leaves) that is good for lumber but southern oak grows fast so the grains are wider than most red oak.
Congratulations Chris! Good news is the Water Oak likes wet areas like the edges of ponds, streams or swamps. Bad news is the have a shorter life span compared to other oaks of only 60 to 80 years. In my neighborhood and others around us in Tampa, FL many of them are having to be cut down because they are EOL and starting to rot from the inside out. That makes them a danger if we were to be hit by a hurricane and given the home insurance situation in Florida the last thing you need is a claim denied because they claim you knew the tree was a hazard and should have been removed. Probably good idea have them checked out when you start clearing.
Love love the future plans for your new farm! Wedding venue with a pond and grass area would be so beautiful!
21:00 We have ditches like that all these parts… in our instance they were from the civil war. Not sure if that might be the case there? I have no idea what part of the country you live in. Lol
Near Raleigh North Carolina
Congratulations Chris, you are really fulfilling your dreams.
Congratulations buying next to you always makes sense Happy for you Always a joy to watch
I’m so happy for you! I struggle to get a mental map of how this lays with your property but I’m sure eventually it will become clear. Such extensive plans that may or may not change as your vision becomes reality give all of us something to think about too! Thanks for sharing with us.
Chris, congrats on the nextdoor addition. Definitely going to keep you busy. Look into putting some RV campsites in. We are always looking for a quiet place to bring our travel trailer.
I wonder why this channel doesn’t have over a million subs. You pump out great content on a regular basis You never disappoint. Good Luck, God Bless.
Could not agree more.
I really like that you see that land as a piece of local history Chris. You took an interest on the pond, how deep it was and where and why it leaked. The fact that this is part of a dream scenario, is superb. Could not happen to a nicer bloke.
Congratulations Chris! Seldom does the opportunity to buy land like that beside your existing farm. A wedding venue could be another idea. The cabin thing is working well on farm land here near Charlotte. Can’t wait to see and hear updates on your new property.
Mr. Kennedy put it nicely. Your cabins & ponds, in the future, are a lovely idea. You work hard & have earned your dreams. Enjoy making them a reality. Oh boy, more videos!
So happy for you Chris making your dreams come true.Well done 👍🏻
Congratulations!! I'm sure looking forward to seeing these projects in the near future!! WAY TO GO LETS DIG18
If the area is fenced then bring in goats to start the clearing of poison ivy and allot of the other vegetation . They can and will eat what cattle will not. Plus they are holding a good market value also.
That's a dream come true, buying the land next to yours. Of course you are going to build a couple of ponds. Very happy for you Chris.
What a purchase and definitely nice,I’m happy for you! It’s great to have something of your own to invest your skills and time into and at the end of the day it’s your own!
Congrats! This is going to be fun watching this all come to fruition. The cabins sound like an amazing idea. The barn idea as well.
It is wonderful to hear the excitement in your voice when you talk about your future plans for your new property, piggies will go to 'freezer camp'.. the ponds, pastures and cabins sound awesome, can't wait to watch future videos of your work on your farms and the contract work by yourself and with Uncle John, always interesting and love your narration, stay safe and well, big love from Australia
A thought for the venue bar. Contact Mark Bow at Barn Wood Builders in Kentucky and see if he could hook you up with an original log barn with bents and everything. The lady he works with for interior and exterior design does a phenomenal job. People would flock their to have parties or get married. Congratulations on finally scoring this property and good luck with your new adventure!!!
Congratulations, Chris. This is an awesome acquisition. Can't wait to see the miracle of the improvements you're planning.
Congratulations Chris, it looks beautiful. Good luck getting everything done. Looking forward to seeing it develop.
That roadbed is possibly a tram rail put in by one of the original timber companies logging the virgin timber. These tram rail systems were installed in the lower or lowest areas when mules were used to skid the logs downhill. After the timber was hauled out, the rails were then taken up and moved to another site. I live in Louisiana and have even found some of the old rails buried nearby. You may find some yourself as the area is cleaned up. Love your videos.
delighted for you, well done true inspiration,👍👍
Love watching your farm progress. You're going to have the Mennonites busy for the next few years running new property line fence.
Congratulations on your new purchase, very nice that you were finally able to purchase what you’ve been wanting! Your plans sound wonderful, it’ll be interesting and fun to watch as you start implementing your plans for the property! Biggest challenge I see for you is finding time, what with all the work that everyone else wants to hire you to do. Best wishes that you’ll be able to complete your own dreams for the property in the very near future!
You want to fence of the cabin site and get in some Boer and Goats in, they not only between them clear the area at lower levels but also clear the smaller trees and flatten of some of the smaller mounds. Best thing is that you won't need to feed them, free land management and doing the work whilst your getting ready for the bigger stuff. No fuel costs!
Cool deal ! Venue would be a huge money maker. The numerous venues in our area stay booked. Most 2 years in advance. 💵 💴 💰 Rental cabins also 👍🏼 Can’t wait to see that pond when you make time for the project. Congratulations!
Well: it's productive land. So you can either farm it yourself or rent it out to somebody else who wants to cultivate it. The key is that it's PRODUCTIVE land.
Looking forward to seeing your thoughts come to life! Congrats on the land purchase. Land and cattle are a great investment anytime!
Chris when I saw the title I thought - what? you have only recently finished the house. Then you revealed that it was alongside your property. Wow, that is amazing, congratulations. I really look forward to seeing how it develops.
This new farm looks very nice.👍
Very cool. Congratulations! You will never be bored. This area is growing so fast good to have a buffer
Dreams do come true. Amazing property. Hearing your plans - it's quite exciting! Congratulations Chris.
Always fun visiting a property the first time after you close; even if you have seen it extensively before you purchase it. Like now you are free to fully imagine the possibilities.
Congratulations. Can't wait to see the videos off this project
congrats Chris. we know your excited and we are happy for you to fulfill your dream. it's going to be fun to watch. stay safe.
Congratulations!!! You've worked hard to get where you are. Blessings to you and yours.
Very, very Happy for you! Enjoy your new property 😊
I’m no expert but that oak looks like a Pin Oak. I love hearing you say you want to save the trees. The area I live in In Texas is growing by leaps and bounds. Clear cutting trees is an everyday occurrence. Breaks my heart. Congratulations on getting the average you wanted. It’s beautiful.
Congratulations!! It's nice to see that hard work does pay off. You'll have a beautiful piece of property when you're done. Hope all your goals come to be. Good luck not like you need it. Seems like when you set your mind on something you make it happen.
Love your plans, looking forward to videos of progress.
That road with ditches was for a narrow gauge railroad track. Logger used them to pull logs out , sometimes pulled with animals or small steam engines The rails were pulled up and move to the next job
Identifying Trees in NC - chatham.ces.ncsu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/CommonForestTrees2012.pdf?fwd=no Congratulations Chris on doubling your farm and thanks for all the videos!

Congratulations on your homestead/lodging project. It’s going to be a fun transformation!!
Congratulations on the new farm purchase. A lot to look forward to. I love trees, especially oaks, but you may want to have your local logger take a look at logging some of those before you see die off! Best wishes.
I'm so happy for you! Alot of projects and videos! Enjoy!

Well that's going to be a good little extension to your property and of course there's pawn work. And best of all you can have one hell of a fire. Good stuff! Looking forward to seeing it happen. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦🌲🌳🔥
Barnwood Builders would love to do cabins for you, I think. Log cabins would look great in there
First time I’ve seen one, but I looked at the native oaks for NC and I think you’re right about it being a water oak. Those leaves are pretty distinctive.
You deserve it chris congratulations mate . Its going to be great watching you do the project.
Beautiful! Congrats!
Congratulations! Great addition. Good plan.

Beautiful farm Chris, best of luck, you deserve it
Looks great! Congratulations Chris!
I hope all your plans come together! As hard as I watch you work, you certainly deserve it. 💯
That "weird road" looks like the old railroad beds we have all over the place here in PA. There were probably track on them at some point in the past.
That's an understatement... Never seen so many abandoned RR track beads...
I was thinking the very same thing.
Old tram I'd say. A lot in SW Arkansas.
Congrats Chris, that’s really exciting! Very happy for you.
Congrats.....All the Best Chris.....
