That hop of the ski @ 7:28 was sick.
Why are people so negative? As a creator you can make whatever you like. That’s the beauty of it.
Lohst yeah that’s is a beauty of it.
Can’t believe it! I just missed you. There was a meet that day on Burleigh hill at the same time you were there with all the surf photogs from the Gold Coast and beyond. Hopefully you come out to the next one
Yeah I saw later on social there was a meet up, would have been cool to say hi.
Great stuff!!!
Thanks Brandan!!!
Great work again man! It’s like watching a big KZheadr, you’ll get there!
Thanks frank, yeah its fun to do these vlogs, i think its good way to show the swells from a photographers angle
He already is a big KZheadr :)
Great stuff mate!! Stumbled onto your channel searching for surf footage :) Not disappointed! :)
Thanks so much, appreciate it.
@@DylanBrayshaw Pleasure man. Been binge watching your content. Great stuff! And those Orca's, wow!!
04:16 Nice!
insane bro
Thanks Grant, I need to get a ski for next year ;)
Love it! You should come to Ireland if you ever get a chance, the surf on the west is amazing but not for the faint hearted haha.
yeah ive seen lots of photos of the waves there, looks so heavy
Endless barrels, cold pints, hot chicks and meat pies. Sounds dreamy.
Great edit. I always like your v logs because you show what is happening behind the scenes and how you got the shot. Keep it up look forward to the next one. Did you use a filter for the first shots of the rocks at 0:30?
Thanks for the kinds words, not I didint use a filter, just small aperture and slow shutter.
Well done Dylan. All that effort u deserve to get the video of thr barrel hopefully some of the surf industry can pay u big money for the footage :)
@@simono463 Thanks simon, I did manage to sell it to Jack Freestone for a small fee, he used it in his new vlog/series.
@@DylanBrayshaw Awesome. I watch that series 2, if u ever come to SA I can take u on the Royal tour. I know all the secret spots from Cactus to SA / VIC border :)
@@DylanBrayshaw Thanks for the reply Dylan. I will give that a go.
Get that drone in close ! Closer ! Close !
Yeah I know, my drone work isnt the best, but I am practicing.
Gorgeous work. What gear do you use?
clarkewi a canon 5dmark 3, this was using thrb70-200mm f4 lens. And mavic 2 pro drone for the jack freestone shot.
@@DylanBrayshaw Thanks! I love your work. I'm in Taranaki, New Zealand! Come on over some time!
Nice VLOG Dylan. A shame the angles didn't work out more for you. Nice all the same.
Thanks man, yeah I rekon I got 2 great images from this session, the turkey shot, and the first one, slow shutter with a barrel in the distance.
shot at 5:48 is sick! what lens is that?
Thanks the 70-200mm f4 canon
Current from hell...
yeah totally, so strong!
Yep ..skip to 7:25
what! don't you like my story?
Hey youtubers, this is a vlog about photography, not surfing. Go to the end of the vid to watch Jack get barreled.
I have released jacks barrel separately too.
7:30 - 7:50 fucking hell.
Too much water moving around.
yeah so much water moving, crazy attempt to paddle out.
I’d be surfing not filming
Try to get some of the foreground in the shot, include footage of your face, and then post on KZhead at my home break and you won't be paddling out there ever again.
bi0008 I’m just giving photographers ideas to step back from the surf and get some lineup shots. They don’t have to say where they are shooting or give away the loacation. Every great surf photographer has line up shots in there portfolio. Not sure what your point is.
@@DylanBrayshaw every great surf photographer knows better than to included identifying characteristics in their videos/ photographs. Do you even know what the term "lineup" means in regards to surfing?
Yes I know what it means. Did I say include identifying characteristics no. In terms of surf photography some of the best photos are lineup shots, showing you the set up of a wave. I did this video at burleigh Heads, one of the most photographed waves on the Gold Coast and others can do it at there locals waves. I’m not saying do it a secret spots to expose more waves.
Since the "lineup" is two(or four, ideally) points on land that you use to locate your desired take off spot it seems like it would be hard to take a lineup shot without showing identifying characteristics. There's about three spots on my island that you could video and post on KZhead without someone getting pissed. I know it's only Burleigh and Australia seems to have a different set of rules overall when it comes to surf photography, video etc.. I was just saying that that might not be the best idea everywhere. There are spots on Kauai where they will throw your camera in the water if they see it. Not trying to troll, just making a point that. Aloha.
Yeah fair enough, I get it for other places. You’d have to be care with posting. Not sure what to call this type of shot, it’s like a landscape shot I guess I am trying to describe.
YAWN
Boring
realbudgiesmuggler twohatsbluesattack thanks for your comment, I’ll take it on board.
