  • my dad and i used to go for a movie every few weeks; it was extra special to me because my parents had just gotten divorced and this was his way of bonding with me. when he took me to watch interstellar, i was 13. he was so excited to watch it bc he _loved_ space (it's where i got my love for it too). i remember sitting in that theatre and just being in absolute _awe_ of what i was seeing. we didn't say a single word to each other the entire time-we were captivated. once it ended, we couldn't stop talking about it. my dad was a sucker for christopher nolan and hans zimmer, and this movie was just _perfection_ in his eyes. he loved it so much. it's been 2 years since he was taken from me. i miss him everyday. i haven't been able to make myself go see a movie in a theatre since he passed-it hurts too much to do something that was _ours_ without him. i want to watch interstellar again so badly because it's such a beautiful movie, but i know i will be an inconsolable mess for weeks. this movie reminds me of him so strongly that just listening to this soundtrack makes the grief come back swinging. if i see this father try so desperately hard to come back to his daughter again, 10 years later, i don't think i'll recover. at least, not for a while. that persevering love reminds me of my own father, who i know loved his daughter so very much. i miss you, nana. i hope one day i'll be strong enough to be able to sit in a theatre again. when that day comes, i'll probably be able to watch this movie again too. for now, i'll just settle for listening to this soundtrack that you ranted and raved about for years. i love you.

It put their new sound system to the test. What is cool is that Nolan shot a lot of this movie on actual 70mm film. This theater has a 70mm projector. Crossing my fingers they can rent a copy. There is something about film that can't be replicated by a digital picture.

In the scene where Cooper and Tars are inside the black hole, communicating through the 4th dimension, I thought that was real. Like actually real, I just watched history in the making, and we will know what is inside black holes from now on. I completely forgot I was watching a movie. I will never forget that moment like everything seemed to make sense now. But then there was an ad break and I was launched back into reality.

  • I remember when it came out in theatres, I got my Dad to come watch it with me. We didn't go until the following February because the last few months of 2014 had been a whirlwind of pain for my whole family. I saw a few interviews and such which kindled my love of science-fiction and fueled my desire to see it. I was awe-struck... I'm sure my Dad was as well. But there was more than awe we felt, we were speechless.. As I sat there in the theatre, my thoughts were also of my Mom. My Mom LOVED this kind of sci-fi... the kind that wakes up one's imagination, as Close Encounters of the Third Kind did for kids, both young AND old, back in 1977 and 1978 (yes, it was in the theatres for well over six MONTHS back then). But Mom had died in 2014, so I wanted to go see it in her memory, but also to get my Dad out of the house and hopefully fill his senses with other thoughts, even if for just a couple hours. I know I am not alone in how deeply this movie affected one's psyche, especially for anyone who had lost a loved one in their lives. There were many moments throughout the movie that caused my eyes to become blinded with tears. Some because of the sheer WONDER of this incredible story.. Some from putting oneself into the place of these characters. Some because Mom wasn't here to share in this experience. And some, for my Dad, because as well as losing Mom in 2014, he also lost his son, my brother, 2 days after Christmas of 2014... Hans Zimmer's compositions added IMMENSELY to just how profound an effect Interstellar has on me. When I see the movie, when I hear the soundtrack, I invariably think of Mom, and still tear up to this day. I didn't know until right before I decided to add my comment... Interstellar was first released on October 26, 2014... the day my Mom passed. We miss you Mom. "Love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space. Maybe we should trust that, even if we can't understand it."

This movie really kept my eyes on the screen at all times due to the plot, the acting, the amazing visuals and certainly the soundtrack! Note that in my university you are only allowed to retake an exam once. It was extremely difficult for me as physics was my goal and my dream. It crushed my world. It took me years to recover and to love the new field I’m studying in. A friend from university is now studying physics too. He‘s really intelligent and hard working and he studies more than I ever did and more than anyone I know. He has high goals for which he works really hard for. He is currently retaking his exams. Even though we sadly don‘t have much contact anymore I wish him only the best and that he passes his exams and reaches his goals! He deserves it! • For me, after 22 years of century, this is the best movie done in the 21st century so far. And one of the best in history no doubt. Chris Nolan was already one of my favourite directors before Interstellar for Inception and Batman, but after Interstellar he is my movie referent. I regret many thinks that I did or didn't do. But one that I absolutely don't regret, but I'm thankful for it, was watching this movie in the cinema when it came out. I didn't watch any trailers before, I only knew it was about space and that was it, didn't even know the cast. When I left the cinema I was speechless. Not even a week later I invited a friend just to have an excuse to watch it again. And I will do it again whenever it is in a cinema, no matter where or when. I get goosebumps just listening to this masterpiece by Hans Zimmer, who made the movie go from a 9 to a perfect 10. Without Hans Zimmer it would have been a great movie. With Hans it is a timeless masterpiece.

  • My dog died two or three weeks ago, time seems eternal and at the same time so slow that I do not know exactly how long it passed. Since that time I have watched Interstellar several times, and downloaded their music. As if seeing it and seeing it somehow brought me closer to him, to my dog, and to all the beings who have passed away and who miss them. It transports me to a place that I do not know what it is, I feel that it is a very distant place and that it is not easy to get to but that I am eager for it to arrive.

  • Something about this soundtrack brings me back to my youth and my admiration for space. The countless toy rockets, begging my mother to take me to the NASA center, the documentaries and books I read all because I loved space so much. I eventually grew out of it, but everyone once in a while I'm reminded of the little girl who once dreamed of getting to space in her own rocket, ready to fly towards the stars.

I was too young to really understand everything, but I remember being so deeply moved by the relationship the protagonist had with his kids, especially his daughter. My mother is now deceased, but the memory of seeing that movie together stays. The film marked I a way very few did. I can't listen to the main theme without crying. Thank you Nolan, thank you Zimmer

  • I have probably seen this movie about, 8-10 times. It has never, NEVER happened to me; liking a movie so much I watch it 10 times and still enjoy every second of it? Sounds crazy and it actually kinda is. Not only is it a cinematic masterpiece, but it has also been said to be enormously accurate in terms of science and astronomy. What else could you ask for?

    • The reason it is so accurate scientifically is that the idea for this movie came from Kip Thorne, a nobel prize winner physicist. He's the guy who gave Carl Sagan the idea for wormholes, who then in turn popularized the idea. He came up with the movie scenario in 2006 and helped make the film by working with Christopher Nolan and making sure that everything was as scientifically true as possible.

  • This score is perfectly fitting for the human race and it's unrelenting hunger for discovery throughout history. Listening to this I can imagine early humans roaming the plains and forests. It fits just as well with vikings sailing west for the first time. Columbus' arriving in middle america, Magellan circumnavigating the globe. A native american looking at his ancestors amongst the stars. And a frontiersman making a fire to survive. I imagine a young man breathing his last breath in no mans land, surrounded by mud and barbed wire. I can see Einstein working on his theory of relativity. It fits with Neil armstrong setting foot on the moon and fits with Opportunity Rover sending it's final message. But above all that, it fits perfectly with the masterpiece that is Interstellar.
