I ordered the purple ones for my Golden Retreiver service dog. We have HOT pavement here in SC. Plus ... we're going to go visit my dad in May. He has PRISTINE hardwood floors! And he does NOT want them scratched! That's all he asked. Sooooo ... Shoe training quickly. My girl weighs 91lbs. I followed the sizing chart which said XXL. Nope. We need a size smaller. Her paw was just flopping the shoe sideways. I hate making returns/ exchanges. But, my girl needs them! Crocs for dogs! Love it! ❤🐕🦺❤️

You can't get more adorable than Sami in his new shoes. 🩴He is so patient! Duncan, my Westie, would NEVER sit still long enough for me to put shoes on him. He is only one (tomorrow actually) though; hopefully, patience comes with time. I love watching your videos; like Denise mentioned in her post, Sami reminds me so much of my own baby. 💕I hope these shoes do the trick for his little paws!

@@jimrusch22 You are right about that. Duncan (my Westie) took a full seven months to potty train. I cried a lot during that time. He destroyed a lot of rugs and hardwood. I actually thought it was me until my vet assured me that it's just the breed. He is one now and it's so funny how my love for him almost makes me forget how much he frustrated me. 🙂They are worth it!

Oh my goodness! Sami is in cuteness overload. I’ll bet you get more ooh’s & awe’s than ever before. Can’t believe how easily he walks in them now. I bet they will make a big difference in problems with his little toes. I had rain coats & boots for my westies but the boots never stayed on or they wouldn’t move with them on. They loved their little coats & only had to dry their feet when we came in. My family always laughed & teased us but what a cute sight in the pouring rain😍

For Sami it was practice... Because of allergies, most nights I have to put products on his paws and so I taught him to be patient and let me handle his paws a lot. After that, putting shoes on him was easy, he is already used to me handling him 😅

My mouth fell open and head shaking at how easily Sami took to those shoes! By far the best testimonial for Wagwear!! I had a friend who made booties for sled dogs they trained in the winters of Minnesota. And she made them for Mom and stepdad's westie. that was in the late 1980s. It took him some time to get used to them. He would step high with each paw and cautiously. It was funny to watch. But it sure saved him having ice build up between his pads each time he went outside.
Sami is so cute and adorable, much more patient than my westie Stone. I too would like Stone to wear shoes especially to protect his feet from the hot sun here in s Florida 🌞 I bought him some shoes and he just pulled them off within one minute ! Thanks for sharing maybe I will try these!
He won't be able to pull these off, the velcro goes around the ankle twice and no way it comes off. I might use them inside too, for when I put ointments on his paws and it won't allow him to lick them off 😁

Sami is so adorable!! He didn’t try to bite at them at all. We had a different kind for Rosco but they would slide off when he started running. These are adorable and look like they stay on! Thanks for sharing! 🐾❤🐾❤️
Yes, he accepted them easily! They stay on even when he scratches the ground hard with his back paws (marking territory) and they don't move. We never lost one 😄
I tried once with Sugar but they did not stay on well. It would have benefitted her. She had some skin allergies mid life. But Sami did well and then look far better. Plus, he's soo stinking cute!! 🐾❤️

Sami is so dang cute in his new shoes I have a 9 year old Beagle and she has been wearing shoes forever. We live in Nevada and we are in triple digits summer days. Sophie loves her summer shoes. Adorable! I enjoy your videos so much and have learned tips that have helped with my fur baby. I have a 4 year old Westie and his name is Bettles. I tried shoes about a year ago to deal with muddy walks but they did not stay on because Bettles paws the ground after he pees just like Sami. I am going to order these and try again. Thanks!
Thank you! ❤ I am so glad this helps you 😍 Sami paws the ground a lot in these and so far there is one scratch on one boot, but nothing more. They stay on perfectly as long as the velcro is tied tightly around the ankle. If you do get them, let me know if they work! 😃

I gtta tell ya tho, I wish makers of doggie footwear wld consider tht the smaller dogs have smaller paws in the bck ( rear paws on hind legs) than the front paws, cuz if u have a dog like tht, u gtta buy 2 sets, 1 set to fit the front paws & anthr set smaller 2 put on bck paws!
I live in a place that gets extremely cold in the fall and winter so I don’t want my dog to be uncomfortable when I walk her
My Shepard has those dry cracked paws, we just took him to the vet for it. He licks his paw all the time so it’s uncomfortable for him. So this is a serious issue for dogs and their comfort. Currently, we have 7” of snow, and can cut their feet on ice. We are considering little shoes, and this video help. I’ll get back when we try. There is a special wax for doggo feet aimed at huskies and snow, but it works for all doggos.
Toby is my 16 year old Westy. Never tried shoes, but he wears sunglasses due to his eyes becoming really sensitive to light. We live in Florida so we have a lot of sun
Poor Sami. I really feel for him. I also worry about Westie's paws getting too hot myself. I was also told by my Breeder that Westies can get Hypoglycemia due to stress. So always keep Karo light corn syrup on hand to bring up the blood sugar, and then proceed to feed them and if they don't eat bring them to the Vet immediately.
I didn't know about this. How do you know when they need their blood sugar up?

My dog has the the same issue that Sami has, with skipping the rear hind leg. Only outside, never in the house. Vet can’t find anything wrong. Been xrayed. Examined several times by 2 vets. I will try the crocs. Can’t imagine him letting me out them on though.

They have measurements on their website. You measure the width and length of the paw and they tell you what size. For us it was exactly XS. I always recommend using a measuring tape to be sure 😃

Poor babies , I remember my first westie Muffin wore that big lamp shade around her head until the day she passed. She had so many Hot spots on her body that no mater what meds she h a d she would lick Them bloody. So precious n delicate.

I’ll have to try these shoes for our Westie. The salt on the roads and sidewalk in the winter cause a lot or irritation. The shoes I tried always seem to fall off.
I recommend them, just tie them tight enough. They will never fall off 😅 I have the winter model too, can't wait to have Sami wear them when it's cold outside.

Meruna, I have a question. I probably butchered the spelling of your name but it’s a lovely name. Thank you for making this video. I made my dog moccasins out of leather and put Velcro around the top to close them. I know they won’t last forever so I’ve been looking into the ones you show in this video because they would allow for air circulation. My question is does the Velcro ride above the dew claw allowing the slit on the side to give it freedom? My dog’s dew claws are sensitive to every other shoe I’ve tried and it’s why I made her moccasins. Thanks again for your review it was super helpful!
Haha, that's ok! 😅 Wow, you made your dog leather moccasins, that's very cool (and fancy!)🤩 The ones I have yes, they allow the dew claw to be out and the velcro is above it. The paw must be completely inside the shoe (aligned to the tip) and this way the dew claw rests below the velcro with no problem. They should be good and I recommend them. Dog boots are killing your Merocrine Sweat glands which are located in your dogs paw pads and on the nose function similar to human sweat glands. They only produce only a tiny amount of sweat. It can be why you sometimes see wet paw prints on a hot day.
We brought our wauser Abby to Utah so we got her booties for the cold

How did you get Sami used to wear his Wagwear?
Honestly I didn't do much! I put them on and gave him some treats 😅 I let him wear them around the house for a while, then we went outside. It was easy and I think it's because they are comfortable (we tried with another brand before, I had to return them because Sami refused to walk in them 🤷🏻♀)

My dog won’t wear any booties it is better for her to wear it so that her paws won’t get wet and burn small dog broke the legs so easily so i don’t force her to wear any booties how did you do it without any injury to the leg parts 😳😵
