  • One day my wife called me to come look at a fox squirrel by our patio with a baby in its mouth, running around in a panic. I stepped outside to discover a turkey buzzard circling above and two more babies laying on the ground. I got a bucket and placed it laying on the ground and put leaves in it along with the other two babies to hide them from the buzzard and went back inside the house to watch from the door. The mother picked up each of the babies and took them to another tree nest. When she knew they were safe she came right up to the outside of the door and put her paw on the door, looked me right in the eyes and made kind of a barking sound as if to say thank you. I am amazed at Gods creations all the time.

    • @@eilenekellogg7017 ...those are very very unfortunate outliers that are hopefully going to happen less and less as time goes on, have you seen what animals do to their young all the time? Hell it's common practice to kill some of the young in a lot of species. And others for some reason kill their babies if they get upset like rabbits. Not really judging them it's how nature works, just pointing out nature can be really disturbing.

  • I'm in my 30's and I've cared for a lot of injured animals during my life. Deer, boars, cats, crows, squirrels, all kinds of local wildlife you could think of. Despite the costs, I've never regreted doing so, except for one time that will probably haunt me for the rest of my life. Six years ago, an injured pigeon walked over to me while I was outside cutting bushes. When I saw him, I was sure that he had just escaped an attack from a buzzard, so I took him in. My wife and me helped him back on his feet (or wings) again and after four months we finally released him back into the wild. The next morning, he walked over to me again. Again injured as hell by what it seemed to be the same fucking buzzard who mangled him the first time. I had no choice but to take him in and start all over again. As I said, that was six years ago. Now that fucker has his own 30m² room right next to my workshop in our garage, since he doesn't want to leave anymore. I've built a whole bird amusement park into this room just for him, he gets the most expensive food there is for a pigeon and despite all that, that ungrateful little shit is the most aggressive living being I've ever seen. He attacks humans, dogs, cats, hawks, even cows for no reason at all. When he was bored, he visited my neighbour just to kill two of his quails and shit all over his new BMW. After that, I brought him to a local pigeon keeper, but the very next day he brought him back again and asked us what was wrong with this thing. He hates being touched, he hates it when no matter what lifeform dares to enter his lair (my workshop and garage are part of it now by the way, since 30m² weren't enough for a fucking pigeon already) and he hates our mailman in particular. In fact, our mailman always starts his tour at our house, cause that damn bird won't come out to chase him that early in the morning. For some time, our neighbours begged us to take that feathered demon to a vet and put him down, but man, if we started to kill living beings just for behaving like arseholes, we'd run out of poison before the next weekend, so we refused. Now things have gotten a tiny bit better, since Mr. Shithead has grown so lazy that he spends his days down in my basement sleeping, looking into his mirror, eating cereal and shitting all over the place rather than going outside to harass locals and their pets. I swear to all that is holy, that thing behaves like an unemployed alcoholic 24/7. Our only hope is to somehow endure the 15 years of his life expectancy and move on, but as I said, I've cared for a lot of injured animals during my life and most of them are way past that point now, so chances are that this airborne plague will shit on my casket one day. That damned pigeon, seriously.

    • We Aussies are truly blessed to have so many unique animals on our island continent. When bushfires sweep through and our native fauna perish... we all feel the pain deeply. It's like having a part of you removed without your consent. When the last big fires devastated such huge swathes of our land we responded in force... Aussies are ONE in times of national crisis. From among our own citizens alone... more than 100,000 people volunteered to take an injured animal and nurse it back to health... globally, over 1 million people volunteered to travel here to do the same. Aussies felt the love and compassion from all over the world and we were very much humbled... the support was heart-warming and inspirational to soldier on and get the job done. Of course it would've been a huge and costly task to take on so many volunteers and most were not needed... so most people were asked to donate by way of adopting the financial cost of saving our animals... The adoption fees included a package of photos and regular health updates on the animal each donor adopted... I understand that many donors gave much more than was needed. I'm an indigenous Australian... my bloodline on this soil goes back for thousands of years. The animals of this country are part of our story since time immemorial. And I've never been more grateful to share it with the world.... Thanks to the generosity of so many, our animal populations will survive and flourish again. It is the will of the Great Creator Spirit. Our land reflects your face, O God - Ever-ancient, always new. Our land sounds with your voice, O God - calling for justice and peace. Our land breathes with your life, O God - the spirit alive in your people. God of Holy Dreaming, Great Creator Spirit, from the dawn of creation you have given your children the good things of Mother Earth. You spoke and the gum tree grew. In the vast desert and the dense forest, and in the cities and at the water’s edge, creation sings your praise. Your presence endures at the rock at the heart of our Land. When Jesus hung on the tree you heard the cries of all your people and became one with your wounded ones: the convicts, the hunted, the dispossessed. The sunrise of your Son coloured the earth anew, and bathed it in glorious hope. In Jesus we have been reconciled to you, to each other and to your whole creation. Lead us on, Great Spirit, as we gather from the four corners of the earth; enable us to walk together in trust from the hurt and shame of the past into the full day which has dawned in Jesus Christ.

    • This is so obvious. Why, is it so hard for people to conceive and realize that animals are intelligent beings. And just as cabable of showing emotions as we are. Feling fear, joy, grief, jealousy, rage, love and gratitude. We tend to see and estimate intelligens in a very rigid way. And in a very one dimentionel perspective. Because we test animal intelligence in the same way we evaluate our own. There are so many ways of being intelligent, and not all are known to us - I think it would come as chock to many, if they came to realize some of the ways animalsk outsmart us big time.

How did the other owl end up with a concussion and become sick because of humans? The other animals harmed in a wildfire??? Not everything is our fault. Take it easy on the self guilt.

It didnt play into anything, we are just people who think or act different but we are still people. You wouldnt put ‘black kid’ in front of a story or ‘schizophrenic man’. Also seaworld is a sick sick place, abusive and forcing animals to breed too young then force them to do stupid tricks in small tubs

    • Yeah theirs a lot wrong with this video. 1. Bringing up that ladies autism when it wasnt important 2. Saying seaworld is the best 3. Constant inconsitancy with the species shown

      @logansspace8736@logansspace87362 жыл бұрын
    • @Logan’s Space yeah, I also noticed the species inconsistencies, and the "while some like deer meat so much that they actively hunt them, others are all about preservation of wildlife" comment was also a statement full of shyte. The largest contribution to the conservation of wildlife, at least in the united states, is actually from hunters. Most wildlife conservation efforts have been funded by licensing fees from hunters, who's fees go into things such as the 1.1 billion dollars worth of habitat for just waterfowl alone, and $12 billion for state conservation initiatives. Hunters and other firearms owners(not to be confused with poachers) are the largest contributing groups to wildlife conservation efforts. In addition to funding, they gather game and wildlife data, and the number of tags that they get(which dictate how many of each type of game they can hunt) are tailored to only cover the amount that is a surplus of the population, keeping the numbers managed and sustainable. Anyone who thinks that management of the amount of deer or other wildlife in an area isn't conservation, needs to go visit somewhere where deer hunting is arbitrarily made illegal. You will find malnourished, unhealthy and starving deer, as the population booms to unsustainable levels, and the food resources are depleted. "Hunters do more to help wildlife than any other group in America" -Chris De Pedro, professor of fisheries, wildlife and conservation biology. This guy needs to do some research.
