China's Project of the CENTURY | The New Silk Road | 2019 | ENDEVR Documentary
Watch ' The Coming War on China ' here: • The Coming War on Chin...
Chinese president XI Jinping has named it the ‘project of the century.’ Since 2013 China has invested billions into bringing the ‘Middle Kingdom’ to the forefront of global economics and international politics.
What China has baptised ’The New Silk Road’ allows a pair of trainers to be transported by train from China to France in less than two weeks. But they also act as a vehicle for a wave of Chinese expansionism across the world.
In Gwadar, Pakistan, China is excavating a giant port, as well as a spectacular highway that crosses the Himalayas, in order to open the doors to the warm seas. At the limits of their Russian borders in central Asia, along a new railway line that serves Europe, Chinese entrepreneurs have installed special economic zones and casinos in the middle of the desert. Further afield than Beijing, in Djibouti, on the Horn of Africa, the Chinese state has recently established a military port, a stone’s throw from the American and French bases, as well as building an ultra modern railway serving Ethiopia. In the wake of these movements, Chinese businesses are swooping down on east African markets, hoping to make the region one of the new workshops of the world.

China produces 80% of all solar panels and have the highest technological advances in many of the critical technologies. China's growth was greater last year than any western nations. It's Chinese companies that are moving to Vietnam and Ethiopia and Mexico. All that is happening is EU and USA are paying more for the same Chinese goods but through these other countries. With regards to real estate, the Chinese government refuses to bail them out. The government want them to fail rather than what we do in the West and only kick the problem to the future. You could say it’s a NATO+, extending to the Pacific. Alternatives for the southern belt initiatives are constructed, that are more beneficial to for example India and the African countries on the east coast, functioning as a hub to transport goods into Europe.

The Chinese railway expansion has already provided a boon for increased trades in Laos, Indonesia, Pakistan, Central Asia, and many parts of Africa. The roadwork is still ongoing. In other words, China believes in promoting its success onto others. The city of Shenzhen was once a fishing village, but its GDP alone is now bigger than all of Italy. The growth of cities can be seen wherever they can take advantage of transportation lines.

Personally as an European I'll go with the team that builds bridges, roads, industry and houses instead of bombs. China hasn't been in a war for over 30 years meanwhile the US/EU have been in at least 5 to 10+ for the entire time and they wonder why more and more countries side with China. You can't eat bombs.. though the US is trying if you're lucky one in 10.000 bombs might actually be some food dropped instead!

That the one party state, and the human rights abuses , would disappear if Europe would just trade enough with China. Both the USA and Europe are now waking up. Future trade forms will include realism. China will not become a democracy with just trade engagement , Europe and the USA must protect their own industries with trade restrictions and state intervention.

The outcome and the result are the key. who create the job opportunities for the local , who built the new infrastructure for the local , who built the school, hospital and electronic power for the local. History will prove who is the colonizer and who is the friend . These kind of person and media has the colonized gene in their blood, that s the reason why they take china`s development , invest and donation to the poor area as the threaten...

  • It was so sad to hear that farmer say he didn't used to need money because he had water, butter, and fields to grow food and be self sustainable. That dream is quickly fading for us all. Governments want everyone to be dependent so they can profit. They don't profit if you have your own land, make your own food and are able to make your own items. They want to talk about sustainability, what's more sustainable than living off the land. That's the real "going green."

Everyone is reaping the benefits and that is why it pathetic when I see western politicians complaining about China's industrial output and how they want to slow Chinese economic development.

  • It reminds me of when I was a young engineer in South East Asia. All the SMEs in my country were all from the Western countries and Japan. And the senior and middle managers are expatriate from these countries. They were similarly "bossy" to their local subordinates and secretive about their operations. 🙄 They too live the high life, while the locals are striving to make a living. So China has learned well from the West and Japan. 😄 It's the cycle of geopolitical and economic changes

But look at what they have accomplished in these 43 odd years and, with accelerated technologies, should make the world wonder what else they can & will accomplish in the next 50-100 years. That's the very reason why the West, the USA in particular, are so apprehensive about China's phenomenal technological progress.
