China's Project of the CENTURY | The New Silk Road | 2019 | ENDEVR Documentary
Watch ' The Coming War on China ' here: • The Coming War on Chin...
Chinese president XI Jinping has named it the ‘project of the century.’ Since 2013 China has invested billions into bringing the ‘Middle Kingdom’ to the forefront of global economics and international politics.
What China has baptised ’The New Silk Road’ allows a pair of trainers to be transported by train from China to France in less than two weeks. But they also act as a vehicle for a wave of Chinese expansionism across the world.
In Gwadar, Pakistan, China is excavating a giant port, as well as a spectacular highway that crosses the Himalayas, in order to open the doors to the warm seas. At the limits of their Russian borders in central Asia, along a new railway line that serves Europe, Chinese entrepreneurs have installed special economic zones and casinos in the middle of the desert. Further afield than Beijing, in Djibouti, on the Horn of Africa, the Chinese state has recently established a military port, a stone’s throw from the American and French bases, as well as building an ultra modern railway serving Ethiopia. In the wake of these movements, Chinese businesses are swooping down on east African markets, hoping to make the region one of the new workshops of the world.

From Mao times, China has taken Africa as the brother and sister --- the friend in anti-colony , because both of us we had one period of time in colonized ,explored ,invaded and squeezed by the west world...The difference, between us , is just china had sized the opportunities to develop the country and enrich the people, which is this kind oof western media doesnt like to see ... You call china makes the Africa new workshops of the world , what is the OLD workshop? is it your western colonized times , your mindset is total drown and raped by the colony thinking

The African guys that have been working at the railroad for only one year yet think they should be working in higher positions is hilarious. Here in America it takes a decade to become the engineer (driver) of a train at Norfolk Southern
In laos it takes 1-2 years to become assistant driver
American drivers are slow to learn. Its hilarious.
Perhaps that's due to the ease in which trains are being run by AI with little to no human's intervention.
Beacouse Africans gets everything for free and become greedy. They did nothing but demanding everything instead of being thankfull.

no need to be worried , soon Europe will impose import tariffs on all Chinese cars, solar panels, wind turbines and export restrictions on chips, China will face serious challenges. With the consumer purchasing power destroyed by the crash of the real estate bubble and the western world united against their totalitarian world model, both export and internal growth models are doomed. With a decrease in births, hundreds of millions of houses will stay empty and future production capacity under pressure, China faces the need to change their political system. @@jordie4423 I think you will be sadly disappointed. Chinese export increased 7% recently. China produces 80% of all solar panels and have the highest technological advances in many of the critical technologies. China's growth was greater last year than any western nations. It's Chinese companies that are moving to Vietnam and Ethiopia and Mexico. All that is happening is EU and USA are paying more for the same Chinese goods but through these other countries. With regards to real estate, the Chinese government refuses to bail them out. The government want them to fail rather than what we do in the West and only kick the problem to the future. Yes there are African nations aligning to China, but at the same time, there are Asian powers like Japan, South Korea , The Philippines (and India somewhere in the middle), who are strongly aligning with the West, investing record numbers of dollars to build up their military capacity, along with Australia. You could say it’s a NATO+, extending to the Pacific. Alternatives for the southern belt initiatives are constructed, that are more beneficial to for example India and the African countries on the east coast, functioning as a hub to transport goods into Europe.
First time visit to this channel.. surprised by the anti-communist tone throughout, even though it is talking about building infrastructure and doing international business. Made a check that this is a German channel from Berlin. The African guy will jerdpodise the whole system if let him handle it by himself due to insuffucient experience. After having watched this video one point that should come to everyone's mind that the Chinese are Hard working people. When it comes to work they are at it unlike other countries where Union leaders take tend to rule over everything making the work force lazy and blackmail the management on every small issue. Hence China has developed so much since the last forty years. There is a lot to learn from them rather then hating them.
Nobody hates Chinese , it’s the system people are worried about. Point being made is that the fact that there is no opposition in a dictatorial one party state. It is good to tell the stories of people whose lives are impacted by these projects. But in the long run, most people lives will be greatly improved. 10 or 20 years later, they will be able to tell a totally different story.
Some people will become more prosperous . "Most people" will be pauperized
China has a world plan to expand its success globally. It started by developing a transportation network for faster goods and people movement, more electricity, and water controls. The Chinese railway expansion has already provided a boon for increased trades in Laos, Indonesia, Pakistan, Central Asia, and many parts of Africa. The roadwork is still ongoing. In other words, China believes in promoting its success onto others. The city of Shenzhen was once a fishing village, but its GDP alone is now bigger than all of Italy. The growth of cities can be seen wherever they can take advantage of transportation lines.
China's railway system will eventually extend all the way down from Laos to Singapore. Then, geopolitical situation permits, from Turkey all the way down to South Africa and connecting other nations on the African continent.
China started with sending their people to Europe in 1980s. Italy was among the 1st to have excess of Chinese who have taken over their Industries & banks - directly or indirectly . Infra building soon followed. And China is slowly & steadily fulfilling its ambition of Economic colonization of different parts of the world
Road and Belt project is helpfull to boost local business into world economic system, especially to countries that are landlocked without sea ports. The two inexperienced Djiboutian men who have done nothing and yet say they can do a better job than the Chinese who has experience building and maintaining railways around the world. These young men should learn as much as they can from the Chinese instead of complaining.
Much of China's success comes from the US/EU setting the bar for fair and mutual beneficial trade and prosperity so low and the west only has itself the blame for that. Personally as an European I'll go with the team that builds bridges, roads, industry and houses instead of bombs. China hasn't been in a war for over 30 years meanwhile the US/EU have been in at least 5 to 10+ for the entire time and they wonder why more and more countries side with China. You can't eat bombs.. though the US is trying if you're lucky one in 10.000 bombs might actually be some food dropped instead!

In old days, the worlds main meat producing countries are US , Australia and South American countries where they can export to populated market like Far East Asia, by sea route. But now, the central Asian landlocked countries can do the same by export to Europe and Far East, by rail. Guess what, some countries are fearfull of the new competition.😁
Because the United States has absolute sea power, China is afraid of being blockaded by the United States, so it has developed land transportation, all of which is the beginning of the United States' announcement that they will return to the Asia-Pacific region! @merrick6484
I honestly find the juxtaposition beween negative tone and all the positive things they show to be both entertaining and funny. If that was on purpose, great job!
A video to please the neo cons
A video to wake up Europe. Europeans have been naive with regards to China. For decades Europe believed China could be changed with trade. That the one party state, and the human rights abuses , would disappear if Europe would just trade enough with China. Both the USA and Europe are now waking up. Future trade forms will include realism. China will not become a democracy with just trade engagement , Europe and the USA must protect their own industries with trade restrictions and state intervention.
The various countries China invested in must see opportunities and realise them. They must be trained well and see the Chinese as benevolent.
It’s not an opportunity to be trapped by debt, and loose the natural resources when the debt can not be fulfilled. Projects don’t bring much job opportunities, most work is done by Chinese workers. It is true the infrastructure can bring development, but when countries are in big debt and loose control of resources, infrastructure alone is not enough to develop into a healthy economy

STOP evaluating the expectations of the Africans through American, European and Chinese eyes. Their culture and approach to upward mobility is culturally different. It was so sad to hear that farmer say he didn't used to need money because he had water, butter, and fields to grow food and be self sustainable. That dream is quickly fading for us all. Governments want everyone to be dependent so they can profit. They don't profit if you have your own land, make your own food and are able to make your own items.
