  • I understand if not everyone is interested in chopped and screwed. If you're not from Houston like myself I wouldn't be surprised that you don't care for it. Chopped and screwed is a H-Town staple. I remember in the early to mid 90's when DJ Screw brought it heavily to the scene in H-Town. Sippin on syrup and smoking trees was what we did and the slow screwed up songs went perfectly with the high. When you're smoking and sippin everything slows down and everyone is chill. The music was made to accommodate that. Screw is so strong in H-Town that everyone bangs it and I mean everyone. I honestly can't even listen to rap at it's original tempo anymore. I'm so accustomed to screw that the original beat sounds too fast. I know it's probably weird sounding, but that is how much we listened to DJ Screw. Every rap song that came out you would look immediately to see if he had chopped it up yet because you didn't even care about the original song. You only wanted to hear the chopped up version. Anyway I'm high af and rambling on.
