  • Sorry, Kazakhstan gained independence last out of the Soviet countries, it should be 8th place. Also, the website I was using didn't include Timor-leste, but it gained independence around 2002.

    • @@geographyperson technically Kosovo got its independence away from Serbia back in 2008 and it’s technically an observer state that is like controlled by Serbia but observer states are still countries just like Vatican City, and also Palestine is an observer state controlled by Israel so Kosovo is a country
